Florida RB Jordan Scarlett: "Michigan's DL doesn't move well sideline to sideline."

Submitted by Maizen on

Florida has been running their mouth an awful lot leading up to this game.

If memory serves especially with Hurst he is usually running so fast straight ahead and over whatever QB or RB happens to have the bad luck to have the ball....dont think Gary is much different.

In my mind, I would much rather have a Dline that does that than one that has to run sideline to sideline....

Honestly, dude you don't have a QB who can throw the back down field or an OL that can sustain blocks, not to mention your best WR is out. We only have to focus on you, so I'd recommend getting the ice bath ready

Going off ESPN.com

This Taven Bryan kid has 1.5 career sacks in 2 seasons at Florida.

I'm a little confused by how no one can block him...or does he mean no one on Florida's OL can block him?

He's a former 3-star OT recruit from Wisconsin.

I won't provide any bulletin board material of my own, but I'll just say that comment leaves me a little confused. If anything I'd assume he'd be more like Glasgow than some kind of pass rush extraordinaire. But we'll see.

We've got Gramps, Bredeson, and Planet Onwenu on our side. I think they'll be able to hold their own - especially if you look at what they see in OUR practices.

yeah hes a fairly stout player in the middle but nothing crazy.  they have a tough starting front 4 (like always) so should be fun to see how the retooled OL handles.  though hes a good player, if bryan is totally unblockable much will be due to kugler (and the guards) struggling rather than a top draft pick dominating.

if m executes they win, simple as that.  coaching clearly favors m as does several other areas.  uf has talent though (not to mention strong special teams) so its no cupcake despite what some have predicted.  smart, efficient, tough ball wins it, as usual...and im hopeful...should be good game

and considering Bryan is a DT, I assumed the comment to mean that no one can run-block him.  He stuffs everything is what it seems like he meant?

You don't need to get a lot of sacks to be unblockable in the run game.

Obviously, this guy is just talking up his own teammate.  I'm sure we'll be just fine blocking him (please, Kugler, block him when he's your assignment).

Exactly, those boys are going to kill some QBs again this year. Not so sure I like Mone on 2nd or 3rd and longs. I might go with Aubrey? Hope Mone proves me wrong. I just have to add after watching some videos, hearing all the talk and then looking more at some of these players, I've came to a strong conclusion. I'd bet some good money that this team is better than last years on both sides of the ball by mid season. These young guns are fucking good.

This is very encouraging news, because it shows they aren't prepped super well, lol. You're telling me that Chase, Gary and Hurst can't move sideline to sideline? Lol, okay.

And I'm not scared of a dude with 1.5 career sacks

How could they have possibly prepped? They didn't know who was on the team until the roster was released this morning. Obviously without a roster they forgot those guys were on the team. Man, will they be surprised in a Saturday that Hurst didn't go pro and can make sideline to sideline plays.

I'd guess that he has been told this by the coaching staff rather than an observation he made by himself. Could be a sneak preview of their game plan.

I don't get it? No DL is expected to get outside on a RB, right? That's what linebackers and safeties are for... So congrats Jordan Scarlett: Mo Hurst won't be tackling you on the hashes. Also, I think he just told us Florida's game plan: run to the edges.
