Florida RB Jordan Scarlett: "Michigan's DL doesn't move well sideline to sideline."

Submitted by Maizen on

Florida has been running their mouth an awful lot leading up to this game.

for them to go sideline to sideline.  90% of Florida's offensive snaps will result in Michigan's defensive linemen and linebackers blowing up plays mere seconds after the snap- so he is somewhat correct.

Except what he said is not true. If he was "just giving his thoughts on what he saw on tape" he might want to stick to the truth. This defensive line DOES move well sideline to sideline, so why say that they don't? Its talking shit.

If it were me "just talking", I would say "their defensive line is very good. They have earned their reputation from their play last year but we will be ready" and move on.

Don't say anything negative and don't say anything that isn't true, otherwise, you're talking shit!

i'm so sick of everyone getting all worked up when someone says something that they honestly think. it's sports. it'd be great if everyone just said what they actually thought about the other team, rather than the usual humble bs. so I say good for him.

I'm so sick of a small minority getting all worked up when people have an opinion or respond on a message board to someone says something.

He can say what he wants, it doesn't mean people have to applaud him for it - especially if they disagree or if he's just flat out wrong. It doesn't mean an opposing fan or competitor can't use it as motivation and point and laugh and what they feel is an idiotic statement.

What exactly are you so worked up over (you started with "I'm so sick" so don't backpedal now)?

Edit: And last time we played them their leading rusher was their QB because of 22 yard scramble that led to nothing. He finished the game with a team high 55 yards. That was 2 years ago. They rushed for 118 yards as a team.

Is that we don't stack the blocks and flow with the play down the line... which isn't our defense. We're a one gapping penetrating style. Works just fine, thanks. Or he means he doesn't think Mo Hurst, Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich can run, which would be even dumber.

Don't really think the guy was even shit talking if you watch the video, but he's a speed-back that thinks he can get the edge. We'll find out.

It's actually a matchup to keep an eye on. Scarlett ran a 4.3 flat electric timed at the Nike Opening. Rashan runs about a 4.5, but weighs 100 pounds more.

Force=Mass x Acceleration. Science bitches. Hope you don't get hurt too bad Scarlett.

don't want to be that guy, but he was probably basing it off the FSU bowl film. He also said he doesn't think anyone can block Tavon, big deal he is pumping his teammate up. We had reports coming out of camp that Hudson was one of the best athletes in the country. Players tend to rave about their team to reporters, I don't think it's really newsworthy.

Is it just me, or is the Ulizio thread inaccessible, not because it's locked but because...of a blue screen error preventing us from reading a word? I do not believe it's just me, since the post count has frozen at 163.

My apologies for this being meta and off the topic at hand. But no one wants a poster to start a new thread for this and, yet, I feel it deserves this much comment. I've never seen the site fail in such a hyper-focused manner.

I still don't get why people in the SEC think everyone else is slow. He mentions the line is strong, but doesn't move well. I don't think it's very offensive, but I just find it weird they still have this mentality that the midwest (and I guess everywhere, but the south) isn't athletic.

Rashan Gary runs like a 4.54 40 which is insanely fast for a d-lineman so I dont think at least on one side of the line that UM will have a problem moving horizantally along the line

Gary is faster than most college RBs for crying outloud lol

If he's looking at last year's game film, then he might have a point. But this isn't last year's team. But, he'll either be proved right or wrong on Saturday.
