Feldman on the Rich Eisen show today: Other teams have in-person scouted, were reported to the NCAA, and the NCAA did nothing

Shocked this wasn't posted yet, but I've scoured the board and I believe this slipped through the cracks. Bruce Feldman said today on the Rich Eisen show that he is working on a story to be published later this week (probably tomorrow) that other teams have broken the in-person scouting rule, were reported to the NCAA, and the NCAA did nothing.

The hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Let’s not forget the root of all of this is a smear campaign commissioned by Ohio State. Even Petitti might be viewed as basically just a simpleton that the mob, headed by OSU, is able to manipulate.  The more you think about it, the more disgusting and pathetic it is. That’s why we have to unload everything we have on them whilst digging for new material of which I’m sure there’s plenty.

When it comes to composure in the face of adversity, everyone take a moment to appreciate the manor in which Harbaugh has conducted himself. Reminds me of Tom Brady & his time here. Went through some shit. Proved he was unflappable, and I mean that. Unflappable. Now we got JJ. Perhaps the best Michigan quarterback of all time. Who's got it better than us?

I saw that earlier. I don't want to get my hopes up, so I didn't say anything. I'll wait until the article is published.

FYI -- The fill-in host is Rich Eisen's wife. Lucky Michigan Man!

This is a key point.  The only reason we are hearing about this and not the story where another team raised similar issues with the NCAA is because Ryan Day’s cronies orchestrated a drip drip leak to the media to add pressure.

The only thing the NCAA has said is that they received the information, they have found no connection between Harbaugh and the sign stealing, and that they are not aware of any connection between Ryan Day and the PI firm (but as other reports have said they have not investigated Ryan days connections to the PI firm).

It is still possible for the NCAA to decide that because Jim didn’t know anything and, CS was a rogue employee and fired, and that sign stealing isn’t an issue for why they have a new coach accountability rule (it was for impermissible benefits and similar) they may do nothing.  Happy to start a post on the new NCAA enforcement rule if desired.

where are you coming up with this nonsense? first it was Ryan Day that hired the pr firm that informed the ncaa. causing death threats to the day family from unhinged fans. now osu is working hand in hand with the ncaa to get rid of harbaugh. lol some of you need to get a grip on reality. why would the ncaa work with a member against another member? that’s some real tin foil hat stuff. listen to yourselves, some of  you sound like lunatics.

The original leaks to the press according to WaPo was from an independent investigation firm.  The same firm informed the NCAA.  There is only speculation that the NCAA also leaked information but thats not as credible. Only bits and pieces have come out about this PI firm.  Isaiah Hole and others have said there is information available to tie it back to Day.  Hole has been 100% accurate so far.  The NCAA has only stated that they are not aware of any connection to Day.

At this point will the NCAA do anything? Michigan is mainly trying to fend off Pettiti and a few opportunistic rivals trying to take advantage of him. The NCAA might look at this and just show cause Stallions, allow helmet comms, and be done with it. Are they really gonna lawyer up vs Michigan over this?

If Harbaugh is suspended tomorrow, it will go down as one of the biggest scandals in NCAA History.  At this point, it is painfully obvious there is no objective and fair reason for it to happen. For the love of God, somebody please inject some reason into this BiG process by tomorrow.  If he tries to go through with this suspension, it would be the worst injustice I've seen carried out against a school or person in college athletics.  In my view, this will be irrevocable in assessing damage between the BiG/Michigan relationship.  Everything will be different after tomorrow if this happens.

Still hoping for reason to prevail.

I've attended a hearing on a TRO held in the living room of a Federal Judge in ED Mich at 10A on a Saturday morning if that is any consolation.  Mars and the Williams and Connoly crew will find a Federal Judge to hold a hearing on a TRO, no worries.  I'm sure they have already alerted Court staff of the possible need for a hearing late Friday or early Saturday before the PSU game.

Hope so. The more comes out, I am becoming more furious about the hypocrisy of B1G and NCAA. And those media personnel who ignore every other fucking thing that happened.

I hope they all face some kind of repercussion. May be the current lawsuit against NCAA by players will take them down and UM leaves B1G. Sick of these puppets and conniving hypocrites in B1G conference.

Academically, the ACC is a viable alternative. You’d have Michigan in a conference with the likes of Stanford, Cal, Duke, UNC, Virginia, GT, BC, Pitt and Miami. All considered premier or very good academic institutions. I believe even FSU has climbed the academic rankings dramatically in recent years.

Academically, ACC > Big 10.

It is clear that somebody from OSU orchestrated this campaign.  For some reason no one has followed the bread crumbs.  Early on the OSU slappies were suggesting the death penalty, and forfeiture of all games this season, for doing something essentially all other teams are doing. The debate is about means, not end point. I think at this point, leaving the Big 10 is mandatory. It doesn’t matter if they don’t suspend Harbaugh. Enough is enough

It was actually about dead even prior to the complete turnover of the Pac12. US News & World Report’s rankings (from their January update)

Big Ten average ranking (including UCLA and USC) was 56th, with 7 schools landing in the top 50. Average drops to 58th with Oregon and UW added.

ACC average ranking (including ND) was 55th, also with 7 schools landing in the top 50. Including Cal and Stanford they go up to 50th with an additional two top 50 schools.

I don’t know if the ACC has an academic alliance similar to the Big Ten Academic Alliance though, which is a HUGE bonus to being a B1G member.
