Is there a link or source?

I doubt it. Highly, highly doubt it. If he really wanted to get back into coaching, he could wait for a big time job to open up. Sure, maybe he's persona non grata at several schools, but there's still at least a handful out there that would be willing to write him a blank check for five to seven years of glory before he crashes again.

I don't see why Cincinnati can't get big time results even if it's not traditionally a big time job
They will soon be in a "power" conference, have a solid recruiting region, don't have many academic/moral standards to overcome, and can get into a 12-team playoff.

I give this a <1% chance of happening. People will forget Meyer is a creep and he'll go back to a Florida/Miami/Texas/ND/OSU after their coaches fail

its pretty easy to say, "NFW, urbs wouldn't take that job, his ego is too big"
but....his ego is also too big to stand on the sidelines watching osu and the guy who replaced him (when he didn't want to go, but was likely forced out) getting bested by MI....
I could actually see that sociopath thinking he could go to Cinci and dominate there, making Day and osu look even worse.... expecting them to beg him to come back.
fuck urban liar.... and any program that would hire that filthy piece of shit.

This won't happen, but it would be very funny if it did

i'm sure he's been in nebraska plenty of times since Frost was fired... but Rhule still got that job.
oh wait....that's a different nebraska that urban frequents, never mind.

Someone mentioned this to me this morning, and from what I understand, this barely registers on the extreme outside perimeter of "rumor", and the chances would likely be exceedingly remote anyway. That said, however, Luke Fickell at Wisconsin, Hartline taking another position (if he does leave at all, but he may not) and - in some bizarre twist of fate - Urban Meyer showing up in the Big XII but yet in the state of Ohio would emotionally obliterate Buckeye fans, I would think, at least in the short term.

Urban's girlfriend goes to Cincy. She's majoring in twerking.

Wouldn't he hurt our recruiting more than OSU's? Like we're about to steal like 4 dudes straight from Cinci. He could take the Rod Moore types that have been really good to us
November 28th, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
This might just mean we have to compete against two Ohio schools in recruiting instead of one. I'd prefer it not to happen.
November 28th, 2022 at 3:23 PM ^
First he'd have to check the local talent. And as I recall from my time in Cincinnati, it has lots of attractive young women.

With the 12 team playoff looming in the near future, Joel Klatt pointed out that elite coaches don't have to find a job at the limited number of blue blood schools to make the playoffs. They can coach at Nebraska and Wisconsin and still have a chance to make a 12-team playoff. Urban is familiar with Cincinnati and recruiting in Ohio. He can finish in the top 10 and make the playoffs. This actually makes a lot of sense to me.

Urbz's sister is/was at UC for a long time. Maybe she has a spare couch he can sleep on if he's still in dutch with the wife.

Whatever gets him off TV.
November 28th, 2022 at 3:45 PM ^
For a happy ending?
November 28th, 2022 at 3:55 PM ^
I’d like him to get a job in Ohio not at Ohio state. He can steel a couple recruits from osu (Michigan can steel the rest) and I don’t have to see his face on fox
November 28th, 2022 at 4:07 PM ^
If it gets him off the Fox Broadcast, Great… now how do we get rid of the other 3 clowns?
November 28th, 2022 at 4:12 PM ^
I still say he waits for the Notre Dame job to open up. Although Freeman has turned it around this year
November 28th, 2022 at 4:22 PM ^
My Cincy buddy says the rumors he's seeing are Deion S, M Campbell, B OBrien, J Minter and B Hartline
November 28th, 2022 at 4:32 PM ^
Very unlikely, but if it happens we need to get Cincinnati on the schedule ASAP.
November 28th, 2022 at 4:35 PM ^
Lots of nervous coeds though (sorry, meant grandkids).
November 28th, 2022 at 4:52 PM ^
Doubt this happens, but I wouldn't hate it. Get him off of my TV
November 28th, 2022 at 5:15 PM ^
I can’t believe he’d take that job. Too much of a step down. Unless his character issues have soured everyone on him. Given how much he wins though, I can’t believe that, either.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
Resigning in disgrace from Cincinnati just doesn't have the same ring to it, if I'm being honest.
November 30th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
Not so fast... it'll wreck our Ohio recruiting.
