Screw Wiscy....cheap shot bastards.
Dylan is smiling.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
they're ilini fans so they probably didn't bet the house but I hope someone at least won enough to cover a few rounds of beers
October 19th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Peters owed them as I recall.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Little bit of luster wore off of that Wisconsin vs OSU game now
October 19th, 2019 at 7:06 PM ^
Sure changes the feel of that game. Went from being a top 10 showdown with big CFP implications...to another game you expect OSU to win by 30
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
How is it not good for us when we control our own destiny?
October 19th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
I think the chances that it'll have an impact on Michigan are incredibly small, but...
We don't control our own destiny when it comes to the CFB Playoff, that's in the hands of the committee, and we've got one very ugly blemish on our record. Such a loss has kept OSU out before. In a hypothetical scenario in which we win out, atoning somewhat for the beatdown by beating WIscy in the B1G Championship game would help.
Staying with the improbable, if Wiscy loses next week and Minny wins all of its games except for its Wiscy game, then Minny would be the B1G West representative.
I chose to root for the underdog/fun over that incredibly small chance.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
A road win vs. Penn State (now a Top 10 team) + Home wins against 2 other Top 10 teams (Notre Dame and Ohio State), a home win against a good and likely Top 20 Iowa team plus a win in the B10CCG against a likely Top 20 team...I'd say that we're in...
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
the schooner flipped and we have a top ten wisco going down to a 2-3 illinois. I smell a blood week
6.3.4
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Happy for Lovie, Peters, and Illinois as a whole. They were all long overdue for a day like today.
Enjoy it.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Any given Saturday! Nice job, Lovie’s Beard.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Quick, give Lovie a 6 year extension!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
so...Wisconsin did a Clemsoning, is that right (which isn't all that unusual for Wisky)?
October 19th, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Clemsoning involves being a favorite and not just losing, but getting absolutely beat down in the process.
West Virginia put up I think 70 on them in the 2012 Orange Bowl, and then they got absolutely skullfucked by FSU the year that Winston won the Heisman and the national title. I think they were ranked 4th or 5th at the time.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Insane that they won that game without any out of this world individual performances. Team win, through and through. Peters was 9-21, but had some clutch throws. No 100 yard rusher. Nobody with more than 3 receptions. Defense showed up in a big way, causing three turnovers.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
One huge interception to change field position from "long way to go" to "starting almost in FG range"
I didn't watch until I saw the 23-21 score and joined just as Illinois was kicking off w/ ~5min to go.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
This is good. Should wake them up for next week.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Eh, it's neutral. Michigan destroyed Illinois for 3 quarters.

The U.P. Jinx
October 19th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Yeah, and it was karma for the Packers fans after that travesty by the refs Monday.
Fuck em!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
It's totally good for us. It was a great win for Lovie and the Illinois program as well.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Brandon Peters was pretty good today. Dude threw some nice balls today.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
He completed 9 passes for 174 yards. Let's not go overboard.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
Still brought them back from down 20-6 and won the game ... I’ll take 9-21 and a W over 14-32 and a L
October 19th, 2019 at 6:31 PM ^
and ran for a nice first down against the targeting Wisconsin D
October 19th, 2019 at 3:35 PM ^
9-21? 174 yards?
Now, that second TD pass was a next level play - feel pressure, slide left, good pass.
He did enough. It's the Ill D that was great today.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
That's a sensational average per completion and a very solid average per attempt.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
Hell yes
October 19th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Some Illinois fan is gonna get that tattooed on their back
October 19th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
That is just brutal BPONE, graphically displayed.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
I don't know man.
This could be one of those weekends where stuff gets turned upside down.
Michigan has that same opportunity as underdogs.
Penn State cannot take Michigan lightly. No, Wolverines haven't been "ON", but the DO have talented WRs, experienced OL, a QB that CAN hurt you with all of the throws and with his feet.
It will take a perfect game by Shea, no turnovers and a solid D effort, but Michigan could win tonight. Any given Saturday.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
I don't know if there are perfect games from QBs but yeah, Shea and the OL have to bring it. And hey can bring it. Hope they turn that game on its head!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Maybe Illinois isn’t terrible and Brandon Peters got it done!!!!!!!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
I think Illinois and Minnesota returned something like 17 or 18 starters from last year respectively. People didn't take them seriously.
And Lovie is right, Illini are finally healthy again along DL and QB, etc.. Could not have come at a better time for them.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Holy smokes. Illinois was a 31 point dog? That has to be the biggest upset of the year.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Just shows how much of an egg we laid in every possible way against them. Fumbles, dropped td pass, miss easy td pass, big catch overturned (fuck you B1G), multiple mental mistakes covering the edge...I’m sure I’m missing more. Not saying we should have won, but holy shit Wisconsin got off damn easy.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Nice Job BP!
Just more proof that manball only takes you so far even with the "elite" D.
The ugliness of now is better than the futility of yesteryear.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
Many of us were concerned going into the Wiscy game about our undersized DTs. We all knew it and discussed it preseason. Manball isn't going to win against all DLs, but it was a bad matchup for us.
Of course I had no idea that Wiscy was going to go for, what was is, 359 yds rushing against us.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
I didn’t realize that was Wisky’s first road game of the year. Happy for Brandon Peters!!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:54 PM ^
They opened the season at South Florida....
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
This game is rich with lessons for college football fans. These are student athletes. Pride cuts two ways. When you take your opponent to lightly it makes you weaker on the field. Good for Illinois. Many who condemned Michigan need to rethink their position. Great game!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
We awoke the Sleeping Giant!
October 19th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
That's funny. I say that every time I drink bourbon.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
That was Wisconsin’s first road game since the first week of the season.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Brandon Peters > Shea Patterson.... Not sure how Harbaugh couldn’t see that but ahhh well
October 19th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
This was Peters’ best game against legit competition. And he still completed less than 50% of his passes. Didn’t make too many big mistakes, outside of a few that could have been pick sixes in the first half
