Don Brown says Tuesday was "Best Practice of the Year"

Submitted by Human Torpedo on

I know we don't like coach speak very much right now given how much it has let us down much of this year. If it isn't backed up with tangible results the week of the game I agree it should piss us off if anything if it's not translating to Main Street. So just take this with a VERY small grain of salt

Does anyone know who is running the scout team offense this week? Curious who they have to play as Barrett. Regardless, I do believe Don Brown is going to smother this OSU offense. I just hope the offense can chew up some clock to limit their opportunities.

There is a lot of truth to that old cliche - you play like you practice.

This tells me they are focused and excited to play this game.  Brady Hoke would say it just to make it sound like things were ok.  When Don Brown says it, I genuinely believe it.

I'm sure the team is fired about about playing OSU and is focused and motivated.  Unfortunatley, even if the defense plays great and really minimizes OSU's offense, we still have to score some points, be able to pass pro, and not turn the ball over.  That's a lot to ask of our offense against a a great pass rush.

Oh good. Before this, I only thought Michigan was going to get murder stomped. Now, I KNOW Michigan is going to get murder stomped. If he "hears football" next, I may just start screaming in terror and never stop. Maybe the staff should get a book of phrases that they are never allowed to repeat, this would be one of them. I am fully aware of how ridiculous this can seem, but anything to quiet the Hoke 2.0 noise is a good thing.

This is a great D. They need to strip the ball in this game. That’s the one thing I don’t see is punching/stripping the ball when a back/wide receiver has the ball. Going to need to get turnovers anyway they can on Saturday

if JOK is the starter and he starts off as shakey as usual, watch the rest of the offense.  I just think that they have no confidence in him & they will play accordingly.  The defense will give their best and it will be great, but if the O has no confidence, the outcome will not be in doubt for long.  O Korn is not the leader that we need, but he maybe the only one we have.

A few bad drives, especially in the 1st half of key games, but I'd listen to what this guy says.

The MSU long TD drive was bad, as was PSU's late 2Q drive that made it 21-13. Give him mostly a pass last week - the whole team deflated when Peters went out.

What I really hope to see (but am not expecting it to happen) is FINALLY getting some special teams scores (blocked punt for TD, PR TD, etc.) - without that our D will be back against the wall all day.

I’m tempted to post the standard internet meme, “So you’re saying there’s a chance?” But I don’t think there’s a significant chance. It’s great there there was a good practice. But we had a whole regime of good practices with Hoke, and that didn’t work out. Let me be very clear that I love Harbaugh, and I think this team will continue to grow, mature and get better. I know we’re all tired of hearing it, but next year should be a real step up.

It'll be great if this momentum can continue through the entire game. In 2015, the game was in control until Kinnel hit the punter and Zeke had that big run. Gave them life. Then second half Michigan just rolled over and died until it was too late. I would throw 8 guys at Barrett and their running game at all times. Make them win in the passing game. That second safety that is dropped back in his small area out there doesn't really do shit anyway with the way they spread you out. If the other safety and defensive backs are locked up man to man against these braindead pricks, I think it's a good option. Fuck it, I mean comeon. I'll take the chance of Hill, Long and Mettellus holding their own instead of their candyass picaboo who has the ball offense and if you're coming at Barrett non stop, he shouldn't have time. Destroy that fucking cocky ass bitch for once in his last game.
