Mohammad Diallo out of CMU
More DTs will also come to the portal after spring practice
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:09 PM ^
Lance Dixon from PSU.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:12 PM ^
Could he play right away, or would that not be till 2022?
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:18 PM ^
Right away. Pandemic transfer rules
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:23 PM ^
Dixon could play right away but he’s a little raw and definitely needs some more time to develop. Would still be a good pickup as a former 5 star LB who would technically be a RS freshman.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:25 PM ^
Reading Seth on the cover discussing Baltimore's defense and Michigan's fit. I believe Dixon has to be a top top priority. He seems destined for the hybrid roles they use.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:11 PM ^
Exactly. And the new DC can sell the hybrid LB position to recruits. Maybe call it something cool like Viper linebacker.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:36 PM ^
Nah, Viper is so 2018!
We're calling it COBRA now!
Or - oooh try this one out - Wolf Man!!!
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:07 PM ^
Wolf man, that is so 70’s
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:27 PM ^
or Black Mamba!!!
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:58 PM ^
If he calls the defense, would he be Cobra Commander?
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:12 PM ^
This is the main one I believe. I'm pretty sure 247 has a transfer portal prediction for us on him
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:15 PM ^
Yep, this is a big one.
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:20 PM ^
I'm wait for official word on Lance. He'd love to join Ronny B at Michigan.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:15 PM ^
Not a DT but having seen To'oTo'o play live for Tennessee I would hope they are working on him. I am sure most of the top programs are on him for good reason but Michigan could really use him. As good a linebacker I have seen diagnosing and playing fast. With McGrone leaving he would be ideal. Maybe wishful thinking.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:23 PM ^
Probably an issue with McDonald's Happy Meals or academic transfer rules or attitude.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:48 PM ^
I do wonder how that is going to effect the UT kids in the portal. Will programs stay clear of taking these kids? Lot of good players jumping ship right now.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:07 PM ^
We might shoot ourselves in the foot and stay clear.
I'm sure Ole Miss, Florida, UGA, etc will welcome with open arms if it's a position of need.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:07 PM ^
Didnt stop the Sooners from taking grey ( RB)
from Tennessee.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:23 PM ^
Schools with actual academics won’t touch the Tennessee kids. Which is why they’re all going to Oklahoma.
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:23 PM ^
This was hinted at (said, actually). The anticipation is none would come to Michigan because of the issues there.

Shea. Coaches ethics do not normally usurp high level players’ stench unless it is clear the player was swimming around the bin with them. Stronger the player, stronger the stench allowed. Coaches want to win.
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:33 PM ^
I think it has already been said that we aren't pursuing any of the UT transfers because of it being "messy".
February 3rd, 2021 at 5:46 PM ^
We need to find someone named "Choo-Choo"
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:15 PM ^
I think a question of equal importance is the scholarship number right now.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:26 PM ^
Considering last year doesn't count at all for players eligibility the scholarship #s do not count for next year
February 3rd, 2021 at 2:50 PM ^
I don't think it works like that.
February 3rd, 2021 at 3:18 PM ^
There are 2 things you never have to worry about: The price of tea in China, & UM handing out too many scholarships.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:20 PM ^
Well Sam Webb has said that none of the Tennessee guys are in play so that eliminates To’o To’o and Crouch. But I heard Michigan is at least in contact with LB Mike Jones and Insider Allen Trieu has said Lance Dixon is all Michigan. I also know a majority of fans out there want Michigan to grab DT Mohammed Diallo out of CMU. Yesterday Oklahoma CB Brendan Radley-Hiles entered the transfer portal. He was ranked very high in high school coming out of IMG and he plays with a lot of heart but is considered a liability on defense sometimes. USC LB and former 5 star Palaie Gaoteote is also in the portal not sure if Michigan has a chance considering his brothers at MSU but I thought I would mention him.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:02 PM ^
"A liability on defense sometimes" is better than than the "liability on defense every time" I saw last year.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:09 PM ^
But I heard Michigan is at least in contact with LB Mike Jones
Who?
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:33 PM ^
He means Mike Jones
February 3rd, 2021 at 3:19 PM ^
MIKE JONES!
February 3rd, 2021 at 4:11 PM ^
Who?
(repeat 220 times)
February 3rd, 2021 at 7:15 PM ^
What?
February 3rd, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
OOOOOOOOOOOOK!
February 3rd, 2021 at 8:02 PM ^
Wouldn't mind them poking around that DE/DT from Stanford that is in the portal either
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:21 PM ^
The question at this point is: how many slots are available? Not talking about scholarships but how many signees (HS and portal) can Michigan have in this year. The NCAA allows football teams to add up to 25 new scholarship players to the roster per academic year, although shortfalls in prior years can change that number. What's Michigan's number for 2020-21?
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:31 PM ^
85 is still the limit I believe, just up to the university how they want to use those 95 slots. Whether it be with keeping some players for an extra year, taking in immediate transfers or bringing on new recruits.
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:43 PM ^
The key number this year is 25. You can only take up to 25 this year, whatever the source (high school or transfer). Doesn’t matter how many you have lost via graduation or transfer.
February 3rd, 2021 at 7:50 PM ^
We had 23 commits last year so 2 of the early enrollees count towards last years 25. So we can add up to 27 players unless someone gray shirts.
February 3rd, 2021 at 3:31 PM ^
So is it, like 85, or 95?
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:38 PM ^
Would really like to see a corner or two pop up. Hopeful about DGW and Seldon long term, but having McBurrows as the only corner to join the program this offseason - when the position was clearly a liability that led to on-field losses - isn't ideal.
February 3rd, 2021 at 12:45 PM ^
A lot of guys in the portal have already committed so I’m hoping that when spring camp starts more guys will enter the portal. But a guy I want Michigan to pursue is former Florida CB Chester Kimbrough. Kimbrough was a high 3 star in high school and was originally offered by Michigan. Definitely a solid player and a lot of Florida fans where sad to see him go.

February 3rd, 2021 at 12:58 PM ^
Locks? I’d imagine none of them will see meaningful time this year. If they do, we’re in big trouble. They should all redshirt.
February 3rd, 2021 at 11:52 PM ^
Dude literally just said:
none of the 3 DTs we just signed are locks to be ready to play in the fall
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:00 PM ^
And corners...
February 3rd, 2021 at 1:27 PM ^
I bet Daxton Hill could play DT in a pinch.
