Does the CFP Committee Have The Balls To Do The Right Thing?

Submitted by StirredNotShaken on December 4th, 2021 at 11:35 PM

Michigan is the clear #1 seed in mind. We deserve to play the fourth best team in the CFP; that is Cincinnati. Fuck the SEC and not wanting a rematch on NYE. Do the right thing and seed us #1 against the fourth best team, Cincinnati. Let those SEC fuckers play each other in a boring semi final that nobody will care about.

Do the right thing!!

Rice, right but this is the last week for the committee to decide who the best 4 teams are right now. Alabama and unfortunately Georgia are 2 of the best 1loss teams @ this point,Michigan,Cincinnati,Alabama, Georgia is my guess @ the rankings or Alabama @ 2 and Cincinnati @ 3 doesn’t affect who plays who. I really think Cincinnati should be one of the middle teams.

This is the ESS-EEE-SEE we're talking about, not the Big Ten. It's no different than an NFL game where one team has secured its playoff seed and the other is fighting for a berth. Do you really think Georgia wanted to risk injury just to keep Alabama out of the playoffs, when they play in a conference that loves to take credit for each others' accomplishments anyway? Two playoff teams means two chances for the conference to win national title number 19,580 in the last fifteen years.

Do I believe that somebody called up Coach Smart and explained that several Georgia recruiting violations would be exposed if Georgia won? No. Would it shock me if somebody proved that? No. That's ESS-EEE-SEE football.

Sadly, I'm guessing no they don't.

The correct draw should be:

Orang Bowl: Michigan vs Cincinnati

Cotton Bowl: Alabama vs Georgia

If this is about money then the broadcast partners will bring tremendous pressure to bear on the committee.  Michigan moves the needle.  Period.  Best outcome for them is a Michigan / SEC final.  Another rematch game  in the finals will draw crickets in comparison.

just throwing that out there.

If I were a betting man, I would put money down on the following order:

1. Michigan

2. Alabama

3. Georgia

4. Cincinnati

The committee does not want an all-SEC national championship game, particularly a rematch. They also don't want to be accused of giving the #1 team a much harder opponent at #4.

What makes you think the committee does NOT want an all SEC national championship game?  If I had to guess, I'd say they're drooling over the mere thought of that.

The SEC will ALWAYS get the benefit of the doubt, the special treatment, the over the top hype that any non-SEC schools (save for Clemson and OSU) could only hope for.

Alabama looked shoddier in the last 2/3 of the season than Michigan did.  Everyone though Ohio State was the team to threaten the SEC and Michigan crushed them under their boot.

100% agree and more so for the viewers. Potentially setting up an all SEC title game is a disaster. Check LSU Bama game when LSU never scored a point in the NC. What a snooze fest

The committee will come up with some bullshit reason to claim that Alabama beating Georgia is the greatest win ever justifying why it should jump Michigan which produced a more dominant win over a solid opponent. Twenty eight second half points while shutting out the Hawkeyes. Domination.
