Denver7 KMGH reporting Jim Harbuagh as a candidate for Broncos opening
December 26th, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
I can imagine that all of the teams we are competing against for future recruits are salivating at the mouth to start employing the negative recruiting tactics again
December 26th, 2022 at 8:17 PM ^
Yep.
I wish Michigan had a misinformation cannon like Michigan has a money cannon... and fire it at idiot reporters like that.
The problem is, people are going to make plausible arguments for this... it gets Jim back out west somewhat, there's a lot to work with in Denver, the Waltons can give JH whatever he wants, etc.
December 27th, 2022 at 8:25 AM ^
Commie 9 reports that Ryan Day is a candidate for the Denver job. Not sure that’s in Michigan’s interests at this point, but it’s as factual of a report as the above.
December 27th, 2022 at 11:29 AM ^
If Georgia does to OSU what I think they will or if OSU somehow manages to beat Georgia and we beat them for a 2nd time for the National Championship, Ryan Day will be a candidate for the Denver job. The leash is tightening on Ryan Day which is crazy to wrap your head around. I really do not want a rematch this year but if it happens and we win, it will break their fan base. Go Blue!
December 27th, 2022 at 12:05 PM ^
The biggest difference - if we're being honest - is that JH has been a VERY successful NFL HC - Day has only been a QB coach in the NFL. Huge difference
December 27th, 2022 at 11:06 AM ^
"there's a lot to work with in Denver"
As long as you like working with Russell Wilson and his hyperinflated contract for the next 4 years, sure.
December 27th, 2022 at 12:13 PM ^
Denver is screwed for the next several years, not just because of the Russell fiasco but because they emptied the pantry of draft picks.
January 3rd, 2023 at 9:56 AM ^
If someone can get Wilson back on track and coupled with one of the leagues top defenses, yeah, Denver can be good.
At one point in the season Denver had the #1 scoring defense in the NFL.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
Is it possible to salivate in places other than “at the mouth”?
December 26th, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
Yes, but don't Google it at work.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
December 26th, 2022 at 9:05 PM ^
Of course, that's why I specified!
Did you miss that day in sex-ed class?
/s
December 26th, 2022 at 9:54 PM ^
I mean this in the most meaningful way:
FUCK DENVER7
December 26th, 2022 at 10:51 PM ^
But are they palpitating?
December 27th, 2022 at 8:05 AM ^
It’s annoying because “Harbaugh to NFL” rumors are the most low hanging fruit for media outlets that they can just put it out there without verifying anything because it’s essentially a meme at this point. It sucks but Harbaugh really needs to just publicly deny the rumors fair and square (even though he technically already did)
December 27th, 2022 at 9:51 AM ^
And it's Harbaugh's fault, since he pursued the Viking job
December 27th, 2022 at 10:49 AM ^
Bingo on the self-inflicted wounds. Albert Breer, NFL reporter, OSU graduate, is likewise reporting same.
But he has other reasons for wanting Jimmy out of Michigan. He's tired of seeing his pillow-soft buckeyes get their ass kicked.
December 27th, 2022 at 11:58 AM ^
Surprised Breer, who lives in Boston and appears on local radio and TV, isn't speculating that the Pats are interested in JH to replace Belichick. Just another loser looking for "click bait!"
December 27th, 2022 at 10:49 AM ^
Channel 9 in Denver is also saying he’s a candidate. I just shook my head and thought you need to do more investigating before making that statement
December 27th, 2022 at 11:12 AM ^
Did they ever stop?
December 26th, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
His name will be mentioned with every opening.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
From now until the end of time. Also a shortlist is just a list. It doesn't mean they reached out to him. Sometimes I put "go to the gym" on my mental shortlist of tasks for the day... doesn't mean I'll get there!
December 26th, 2022 at 9:02 PM ^
To be honest, it should be. He has had success everywhere he has gone. However, I think they bring in Darrell Bevell. Someone who has had success with Russel Wilson
December 27th, 2022 at 10:45 AM ^
Wilson is washed up
Bevell or not…
December 26th, 2022 at 9:52 PM ^
-1 to the OP for sharing stupid baseless rumors
December 27th, 2022 at 12:21 PM ^
Some people can't wait to get that "news" out there.
December 27th, 2022 at 8:39 AM ^
Given the success that young offensive minded coaches have recently had in the NFL (e.g., Miami, Minnesota, Phili, …), JH is probably not that high on the mind of owners and general mangers. Of course, it is entirely different for reporters seeking every available click.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
I'm sure someone in Denver would love to have him. I look forward to him calling it bs as well.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:14 PM ^
That's my turkey reference.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
Let's not pretend he wouldn't be heavily tempted by an NFL offer. He will.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:16 PM ^
he gave his word. he won't be tempted. he's set.
December 26th, 2022 at 9:08 PM ^
Naive. Things change. Emotions are involved. The Super Bowl remains the ultimate coach’s goal, particularly to Harbaugh.
December 26th, 2022 at 11:04 PM ^
Your spelling sucks even more than your insight “oracle”
December 27th, 2022 at 1:16 PM ^
Naive and simplistic argument. Not every coach has the exact same ultimate goal. While you may believe that you can read Harbaugh's mind, that's just more self-deception.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:18 PM ^
I could see the Vikings this past year as that’s a talented team. Denver is not so much and The being a small guy who runs around a lot, taking hits and sustaining injuries is starting to catch up with Russ. I think his career is winding down.
December 27th, 2022 at 4:53 AM ^
If you don’t think Denver is talented you are living under a rock. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. If they had a head coach that wasn’t a complete moron they would probably be a playoff team this year imo. It takes two to tango and hopefully Harbaugh declines so much as an interview. Please please please let Michigan continue to have nice things!!
Go Blue!!
December 26th, 2022 at 8:19 PM ^
Already said he isn’t looking at the NFL this year. I can see after next year, but not this year . . .
December 26th, 2022 at 9:10 PM ^
I agree that next year is more likely. I don’t think he’ll go looking for an NFL job this year, but if a team with a good, young QB or high draft picks comes looking for him…
December 26th, 2022 at 9:26 PM ^
He will win multiple national titles with UM over the next 4-5 years and leave the program in good hands...under Mike Hart or his son Jay, perhaps Sherrone Moore. He will not leave until the dynasty is built.
Then he will go win a Super Bowl.
He will come back to UM to be the AD and oversee a football/basketball/hockey dynasty never seen before in all of sport.
Michael Barrett will be head coach of all three programs in this golden era.
December 27th, 2022 at 8:27 AM ^
Who are you, THE_KNOWLEDGE?
December 27th, 2022 at 10:02 AM ^
.
Yes?
December 26th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
How come Ryan Day doesn’t get mentioned for these NFL jobs? or better yet why isn’t Tuck comin’ back to Colorado?
it’s almost like anyone with a good football mind knows Jim is the superior coach.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
Lets not consider Denver a place of "good football minds". They're in this mess because of Hackett and some bonehead QB choices over the years. Now they're stuck with Wilson and have to hope he returns to form with the next guy.
December 26th, 2022 at 8:42 PM ^
The ownership changed hands this season both those transactions occurred prior.
December 26th, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
Outside of 2 years he spent following Chip Kelly to the NFL, Ryan Day has never been an “NFL guy.”
December 26th, 2022 at 10:40 PM ^
I don’t think he’s that great of a coach actually, he’s never built anything, and what he was given he’s doing less with than his predecessor whom left the cupboards fully stacked.
December 26th, 2022 at 11:06 PM ^
Wait, isn’t he coaching one of the teams in the CFP?!
December 27th, 2022 at 7:35 AM ^
Dude is 45-5 as a head coach. Don't sell him short because Michigan bitch-slapped him a couple of times. I agree that he hasn't had to 'build' a program yet, but he's kept a well-oiled machine running in high gear...
December 26th, 2022 at 8:16 PM ^
When does this fuck-shit ever end???
December 26th, 2022 at 9:22 PM ^
It IS tiresome - but Coach Harbaugh’s actions in prior years make it something likely to never go away.
