Dee Hart - Final Decision Next Weekend

Submitted by Knappster on

I didn't see this posted, but if it was already, my bad.

Anway, Dee says he'll make his final decision after his visit to Bama next weekend.  He will also see Bama play Arkansas this weekend in Fayetteville, Ark.  Apparently he said that there is "no leader".  Also, Bama's #1 option? (Isaiah Crowell) is leaning towards Georgia, at least according to this.

Come on Dee.  Go BLUE.  For your future!

I don't understand why someone would log in just to post that.  I have been trying to decipher a pattern to the posts, but they seem to be entirely random.  I would understand random if it at least had any substantial information, but I just don't get it.  I also stand by my prior statement that the avatar (still) really creeps me out.

I am watching Niclk on ESPN, as well.  I can't stand this guy.  Always on TV giving interviews the night before (and last week, the day of) the game.  Could you imagine Bo going on ESPN to be on Gameday the morning of a game?

I don't read this news as anything but concerning, how do you? 1- He says there is "no leader" after saying for weeks that we lead. 2- he's spending increased time in Alabama and making his decisions after other school visits, which often (but certainly not always) leads to commitments to that last school. Fingers crossed here, but this trend doesn't sound promising to me.

So by the time he decides, it will have been two weeks since the AU visit.  That's long enough for the glitz to wear off.  He'll come back to the school he's favored most of the way.

RR commented the other day that he believes there will be (can't remember exact number) around 7 early enrollees.  perhaps RR believes Dee is one of them.

If he does commit next week then he will commit (somewhere) when Michigan is undefeated, with a top 5 offense, and ranked.  what more could Michigan do to start off this season.

Denard doing what he does allowed Shaw to have his way.  Dee sees this.

Dee Hart will be here in January.  Dee Hart will get Barwisized.  Dee and Denard are going to blow up Bama in 12....

Am I the only one not worried about this until hearing from Tom?

Now excuse me while I go buy another 12 pack of Octoberfest.

And a fifth of Knob Creek.

I think I have a couple bottles of wine around here too.

"I talked to Coach (Jim) McElwain," he said. "He's really looking forward to me coming over there."

It's a big game, I'm sure it will be exciting, but hopefully he's just getting tired of the whole mess -perhaps his uncle is too- and it's finally time to 'Go Blue'.

I guess I'm the only one not overly concerned with if he commits to Michigan or not.  I would absolutely love to have him since he seems like such a perfect fit for the offense, but if I had to pick the recruits most important to the class it would probably be Zettel and Frost.

If he knows his final decision will be next weekend, I'm hoping this means he has already made up his mind to come to Michigan and he's just going to 'bama to get a free game out of it.  Right? Right? *nervous chuckle* *frantically looks around room for reassurance*

I won't try to argue what the best situation is for Hart.  M fans will say M, Bama fans will say Bama, and so on.  Each has its plusses and minuses, but most objective (national) observers would say the order of attractiveness would be Bama, UM, Auburn.

Hers a few things that don't need to be disputed:

1.  Hart claims no leader.

2. The school with the last visit often has an advantage.

3. Proximity to home is often a significant factor.

4. His HS teammate has claimed that Hart won't come to Michigan.

5. One school is geographic outlier.

If we took away some of the hype from Michigan recruiting sites, and took the interviews with M-oriented people with the grain of salt they were deserved, would all the positivity remain?  If you just looked at the facts of the situation (southern kid, visiting the #1 school in the country just prior to his commitment), the majority of signs would point to an alabama commitment.

Not saying its impossible, but some of you should be prepared to be disappointed.  People seem to be hearing what they want to hear.

I have to agree here. Announcing when he will make his decision so soon after his Auburn visit, coupled with the proximity of the Bama visit to the commitment date does not bode well for us. Throw in there that he is commiting before his UM-Iowa visit.

I'd love to have him here, but the choice is his and I think we should all respect that.

I agree it doesn't sound great, but he's been saying for months now that he'd make his decision right after vising all of the potential schools. Seeing as the Alabama visit is his last of schools he hasn't been to, it's not too unexpected.

to make the statement that if Hart still has the M vs. iowa game on his list to visit then if he is to committ to another school he would not be coming up to A2!  those in the know probably know if he has canceled his trip up here for the game.  i am anxious to read this week about indiana and going forward from there, enjoying my Kids while teaching PE, loving my wife, enjoying church, etc.  after watching todays greatest show on turf (first it might have answered more of how we deserve to be in the most exciting offense in the country discussion) more recruits eyes are opening!  Go Blue

.. with the exception that his mother seems to be mostly in favor of Michigan. Having close familial ties (Ricardo) here also seem to be a big sway. I'd give the edge to Michigan solely because most 18 year olds who have a big future in front of them tend to let the people who raised them have a significant amount of input in their collegiate and life decisions.

Players go against their Mom's choice all the time.  If they're tight, proximity would probably play a bigger role.

I'd guess Hart has friends on Auburn and Alabama's campus as well.

He's a silent commit.  That is where the optimism comes from.  Sam Webb's gut has been wrong once over the last 4-5 years.  Not saying he can't be swayed and he might switch and go to Alabama, but as of right now he's Michigan's that is why people are optimistic.

Agree - Biggest positive is Sam Webb's "gut feeling." I LOVE driving into work and hearing Sam say this about a recruit.

However, I seem to remember one of Tom's articles saying that conversations with Dee's mom included her saying Dee was always high on whoever he visited last.

So much talk about how UM was the favorite for so long - here's hoping his 7/10 uncle, Sam's gut, and his mom, all have him coming north in January.
