Dantonio to Retain Staff Per MSU Recruits
December 18th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
This is real good news IMO.
Michigan State with the #42 recruiting class.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
And all the while OSU keeps trucking-in 5 stars... Such is life.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:14 PM ^
Just flip your commitment to being an OSU fan, sounds like you’d be MUCH happier...
December 18th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
I wouldn't trade the impact the University of Michigan has had on my life and my allegiance to its athletic teams for anything. I just find it inappropriate and laughable to point-out MSU's current struggles with its football team when it looks as though we aren't even playing the same sport as the Buckeyes every year.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:39 PM ^
You sound fun
December 18th, 2019 at 1:41 PM ^
IMO, we can't turn the OSU rivalry until we put the Spartan Dawgs down once and for all. I think another year of in-state dominance in recruiting and on the field should do the trick. Then, we can look at OSU.
December 18th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
Sorry to tell you but that’s not how it works...
December 18th, 2019 at 6:02 PM ^
This belongs in the-Truth Be Told- Hall of Fame. Until this game (UM/msu) is a minor concern it remains the same w OSU.

So now your are projecting after year 6 we will be passed Sparty, then what Penn State? Is that another 6 year commitment? You do realize we are losing higher end in state talent to Kentucky than Sparty right?
December 19th, 2019 at 12:14 PM ^
Harbaugh is 3-2 against PSU.
December 18th, 2019 at 2:53 PM ^
You find it "inappropriate"?
December 18th, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
The playing field isn't level when it comes to recruiting...that's for sure.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
yet .... they have won the B10 and been to the playoff more recently than us. Shocker.
December 18th, 2019 at 5:16 PM ^
They’re also 26-24 the past four seasons with a 17-19 conference record.
At some point, your recent struggles have to outweigh your past successes. Lloyd Carr won a national title and multiple conference titles, and we pushed him out.
The refusal to make coaching staff changes in the midst of 4 years of .500 football should be a fireable offense for any head coach. Hell, 4 years of .500 football is a fireable offense FOR the head coach at most schools
December 18th, 2019 at 5:53 PM ^
Actually, Carr was asked to stick around for another year after HE wanted out, IIRC.
December 18th, 2019 at 6:58 PM ^
Yes, but only by a woefully underprepared AD (Martin). Lloyd was planning to hand the reins over to his assistant Mike DeBord as his (highly unqualified) successor. Even Martin could see the folly in that “plan.” And so he asked Lloyd for another year.
When Lloyd’s preseason top five team opened the ‘07 season with the L to App State and then got PANTSED the next week at home by Oregon, the ruse was up. Lloyd was a goner, and he wasn’t calling his shot on the way out anymore.
December 18th, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
Mostly because the AD was inept and unprepared to replace him. But you had the fanbase calling for his head following the App State game, and certainly the Oregon game. The heat was on.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:13 PM ^
Then we started winning (we won eight games in a row) and it quieted down.
Carr was not forced out. Martin would have been fine extending his contract, if he could have.
December 18th, 2019 at 6:21 PM ^
Gee I wonder what he was doing that brought all that success...Hmmm...
December 18th, 2019 at 3:01 PM ^
MSU is one of two Big Ten teams without a single five or four star commit this year. I don't have to tell you the other.
December 18th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
I know. Iowa, am I right?
j/k
It's Ohio State.
December 18th, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
Snow is a 4 star.
December 18th, 2019 at 3:54 PM ^
As far as I can tell from a brief glance at rcmb the sparties believe everything is fine and dandy.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:19 PM ^
Even the MSU beat guy misspelled his name. A new level of DISRESPEKT.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:46 PM ^
Haha... Dantinio
December 18th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
I want Dantinio to stay around until we can pin a losing record versus U-M on him
Just need four more years
December 18th, 2019 at 12:29 PM ^
He will lose 3 more then retire. You know, the whole “pride” thing.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
That would make him .500 against Michigan. So I think he hangs 'em up within two years.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
D'antie doesn't have an actual winning record against us - so many of those wins were flukey and shouldn't really count. I dont think anyone actually gives credit to d'antie for those wins - it is just dumb luck. And most of those wins were when they had consecutive top 15 recruiting classes. Not anymore!
December 18th, 2019 at 1:34 PM ^
Just to be clear, flukey wins do, in fact, count as wins.
December 18th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Is it me or is the quality of concern trolling going down lately?
December 18th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
No way we lose to msu through danti's tenure....
December 18th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
PROGRAM WIN
December 18th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
all coaches were given a green hat that said "CONTRACT EXTENDED"
December 18th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
...and each hat had the position to be coached on it. then, they did a blind draw out of a barrel for their hats.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
lol...actually the hats were hidden under deck chairs and each coach sat down in a deck chair and then reached under to grab the hat and find out which position they were coaching
December 18th, 2019 at 1:15 PM ^
They should let the assistants from other sports rotate in for a season. Give the pitching coach a shot at QB coach. Can't be worse.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
So now Dantonio is reshuffling the deck chairs of a boat that already sunk?
Bold strategy, Cotton.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
no doubt.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
Obligatory.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
You ever try moving a chair that's underwater? Not easy. Super impressed Dantinio.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:06 PM ^
The over looked thing here is that he can’t get rid of anyone, what if he shows a coach the Door and they flip and tell the real story about the Blackwell case? I guarantee he won’t get rid of anyone until that case is settled
December 18th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
YES
It'd be funny to peruse the cesspool that is RCMB.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
I took one for the team and went over there. It's actually really lame. Lots of "I stopped caring", "we suck", etc. It's like RMCB is suffering from BPONE right now.
December 18th, 2019 at 1:42 PM ^
Hello, no! Only we are permitted to suffer from BPONE.
December 18th, 2019 at 12:22 PM ^
Lol, omg, valenti will do this....
December 18th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
CANT WAIT
