"..... the cheapest pair of tickets to “The Game” next year are $526."
By next year he means this Fall, November 25, 2023. And it is a pair.
I've never been to The Big House, let alone for "The Game". So I don't know how this compares to other years.
Those of you with experience, could you chime in on how this compares to other years? Maybe it's the same as in other years at this time. I don't know.
I dunno. I wouldn't say we "have more talent" than OSU at this point, just that Michigan schemed and matched up well and had enough developed talent to beat their (superior on paper) talent, at least in those two particular games. They will respond, and this year will be another battle.
While we're optimistic, it's going still not going to be too much more than a tossup this year, and next year, with a lot of offensive talent to replace and the game in Columbus, it will be a tough one.
I would not say Michigan has more talent. OSU has been recruiting at a top-5 level for years. Michigan has scored a few top-10 classes, but I don't think has had a top-5 class since either 2016 or 2017. And then if you want to look at skill positions, OSU has considerably more talent. Their WR is far and away the most talented room in the country, and its not particularly close, either.
Where Michigan has been able to level the playing field is in its style of play and being able to execute it extremely well on the last Saturday in November. It has an absolute punishing offensive line that just wore OSU down throughout the course of the last two games, and OSU's defense is not what it was under Meyer. There is also just the mental and psychological edge that both Tressel and Meyer brought to The Game that Michigan could never match. The last two years, Michigan has looked like the team that came into The Game more mentally prepared and emotionally in check.
I feel very good about Michigan's chances, as things stand today, going into next year's edition of The Game. This is possibly the best offense Michigan will have ever had, year 2 of Minter's system, you have a potential rising defensive star in Will Johnson, you get OSU at home, but I'm not thinking for one second that OSU isn't able to win.
That's still far and away the toughest game of the year. The minute you take this matchup for granted, you're going to get spanked.

Outside of WR, I wouldn't agree with this at all.

I was planning traveling up from Columbus to see the beat down this November. If prices stay like this, it’s going to be a no. I paid $300 for lower section in ‘22 for the best game alive.
That said, prices should be lower once we get closer. UM or OSU can lose a game and value will diminish. Wait a month or two before is my plan.

I don’t understand how people can sell tickets that are not available yet.
You are able to list tickets that aren't yet in your possession. There's an in-hand date with every listing.

Whoever's selling them doesn't even have the tickets yet. They don't release them until August.
Waaaaaaay too early, but bank on $200-$300/ea and before fees.
I'm going to try to go this season. I've been to a couple OSU games at the Big House. Last year got to my first MSU game at the Big House. I've been plenty of other times, but the rivalry games are obviously a tougher ticket if you have a budget (or if you're just cheap like me).
I'll add this though...once they release tickets, if you're going StubHub, get this right away.
I'm calling it now, I think Michigan and OSU will be #1 vs. #2 going into "The Game." It'll be a Game of the Century II type of build up.
With that in mind, you will have wished you bought these tickets now if you wait until the actual game.
If tickets are released in August...get them in August.
You are overvaluing this. Even at 1 Vs 2 come Friday night before The Game an individual ticket won’t be $500
He's not looking for a single ticket. He's looking for two tickets on Stubhub.
I'm not overvaluing it at all, I said $200-$300 and then added, that I think this year is going to be #1 vs. #2, game of the century type of hype and I'd expect "A PAIR" of tickets to be significantly higher in that dream scenario. I'm responding to the OP and his parameters. Reread the title of the thread.
That was last year at the Shoe, two weeks before both teams arrived undefeated and again, it was for a single ticket. $407 on Stubhub.

It does not matter when tickets are released. You can buy/sell well before that time.
Suckers born every minute. In no way shape or form should anyone be looking to buy individual game tickets for next season in April. Wait until November to start even looking.
Has the guy who tweeted ever bought tickets on the secondary market before? “It’s only April” is looking at it backwards.
$200-$300 per ticket is a normal market price for “the game”.
I've had season tickets for over 20 years. Before last year I told my 2 sons (age 21 and 25) that I wasn't going to renew, but if they wanted the tickets, they could split the games and I'd buy 2 games to go with each one of them. They were good with that. This year, they were unsure- youngest is a junior in college, oldest a second year teacher with a baby on the way. I suggested selling the OSU tickets. We put them for sale for $699/each on Super Bowl weekend. Sold in 2 days. Should have asked for $899 per. The sad part is the $699 won't even cover the cost of the season and the seat license....Unless they get better non-conference games, the ticket cost is too high in my opinion (my seats = $1600 with license for the pair).
That’s not surprising at all.
I've been to a few and what always annoys me are the share number of OSU fans there. It is sickening.
I think the tide is turning, and Michigan fans will be a bit less likely to sell their tickets because of the odds to win.
The timing of The Game, Thanksgiving Saturday - impacts some people’s travel plans.
IMO, the cost for this pair of tickets is a bit high - and, come game week, will probably be about $300 / seat.
If both teams come in undefeated, I'm not sure how much the prices will really drop, if at all. SOMEONE will be willing to pay that premium.
But if either team loses, then yeah I could see it.
Makes sense. It could very easily be a top-5 matchup for a third year in a row, and it is also Michigan's only home game of any consequence next year.
The home slate, outside of the OSU game, is absolute garbage. Literally every other game of consequence or against an at least decent team is on the road (PSU, MSU, Minnesota, Nebraska, Maryland).
The next best team on the home slate is.....Purdue? Probably the worst home slate I've seen in years, so it makes sense that the price is going to go up to the N'th degree for the only game at home that really matters.
You should hold off.
Ticket prices will certainly come down in season after OSUs 4th loss.

Even if its not the expensive osu game, you should see a game at the Big House no matter who theyre playing. I live in KY so my chances of getting up there to arent very good anymore, but I was able to come for the Colorado game about 7 years ago I think it was.
My son was 6 and doesnt remember it well. Along with my son and wife we had 5 other friends that are Kentucky, Louisville fans, and even an osu fan come with us and they had a great time seeing the stadium. My daughter hasnt been to a game so I'd like to make another trip up there.
We may have to settle going to see them at Indiana next year since its like 2 1/2 hours from where I live. I was at the IU game where Rudock threw like 6 TDs in that multiple OT game and their fans were running down to the wall to storm the field at the end but luckily the good guys pulled it off.
Try to go see a home game if you can though just to experience it once.

If that were a price for the pair, it would have sold half a second after being posted. Price seems normal to me -- you can usually sell your ticket for The Game prior to any season for $500 and up, let alone how things are now.
April 14th, 2023 at 10:54 AM ^
You can get two season tickets for $1,200 all in. If you sell your pair of OSU tickets for $500 each (after fees), you can pretty much enjoy the rest of the season for cheap!

Very early times.

Last year my season tickets were $3000, or $250 a month. That's only slightly more than my phone bill.
Yes, they are expensive. No they aren't so expensive that they are completely pricing out people.
