Caleb Williams Wins Heisman Trophy

Submitted by Denard In Space on December 10th, 2022 at 9:20 PM

In an unsurprisingly dumb and uncool thing for college sports to produce, we FINALLY have a Heisman winner who paints his nails and doesn't back up his shit talking unless it's against an inferior opponent.  What a talent though.

Just shooting from the hip and making a wild and baseless prediction that Williams will transfer this summer, due to his shitty attitude.

I'm referring to a specific story where he painted "fuck utah" on his nails before the Pac-12 championship game then his team got their asses kicked, after already getting their asses kicked by them earlier in the year. As another tidbit, when someone in the media recently compared him to Patrick Mahomes, he responded "there's nothing he can do that I can't do."

I think that's a less than admirable attitude, but that's just me.

Worst Heisman winner ever...

Made some very athletic plays - but horrible decision making even when they barely won, and sucked when it really mattered.

Corum and Bryce Young clearly best players in CFB.

Fuck Caleb and Stroud - overrated prima donnas!!!

One of the more uninspiring Heisman fields in recent memory.  A shame Corum got hurt, if he showed out in the last couple games (you know, like Donovan did in his place), he's right there.

UM would need to throw the ball A LOT more then they usually do for JJ to be in the heisman trophy discussion.  That's not knocking JJ's talent but QBs that are in the heisman discussion are putting up ridiculous numbers.

I felt like Stetson Bennett kind of got an invite based upon his career but even still, he threw for 3400 yds.  JJ threw for 2400 yds (in one less game).

It has been a relatively easy 13-0 for Michigan-demolishing the two best teams they have played. This fits into my "outsidethebox" mantra very nicely. You can win 50%, even 75%,of your games by playing well within the confines of "conventional wisdom". Great teams and players excel by knowing how and when to go off-script. Jim Harbaugh knows that, right now, Michigan has to go off-script  to beat the schools that recruit like OSU, Georgia and Alabama. Even the talent playing field and Harbaugh's teams can play with anyone.

We will see here...JJ is going to have the opportunity to be in the running. With his loss of an off season to he was about as far behind the 8-ball as a young QB can get-for the current season. With  a year as a starter under his belt and an off-season with his coaches and receivers I would expect him to advance his in-game play quite nicely. With is raw physical talent, JJ is already a significant difference-maker. I believe there is a good chance that we will see a Bryce Young and beyond player in JJ next year. He may be so good that Coach loses his mind and has the offense passing up to 30 times a game.

Very lazy take.

Going back to 2010, the following schools had Heisman winners: Auburn (2010), Baylor (2011), Texas A&M (2012), Florida State (2013), Oregon (2014), Alabama (2015), Louisville (2016), Oklahoma (2017), Oklahoma (2018), LSU (2019), Alabama (2020), Alabama (2021), USC (2022).  By my count, that's 10 different schools.

Admittedly, Bama has had 3 winners during that period of time but we all know it had nothing to do with the fact that they also had the best talent, best coaching and most national championships too. Rather, it is clear it had everything to do with the Heisman Trophy Trust / Downtown Athletic Club limiting the winners of the Heisman to particular schools.

He’s going to flame out in the NFL. He’s the kind of guy who will start blaming everyone else when his team sucks in the NFL. It’ll be just like Zach Wilson for the Jets. All of his teammates will hate him.
