Caleb Love De-commits
Per 24/7, Caleb Love will no longer be joining the team.
I didn't want to see him go 6-20 every other game anyway.
After the Shannon fiasco, I was hoping we wouldn't see this again. It's broken and creating self-inflicted wounds.
The answer is clear, admissions want Howard gone.
So, uh, how does this team score over 50 PPG consistently?
Whew. I could live with this if it was, I dunno, April but it's like mid-May. The portal is pretty slim pickings at this point and we have 3 spots open.
Don't think I'm overreacting when I say, things are pretty f'ing scary for this team right now.
Like, first-year Beilein bad.
Well hopefully Juwan had his eye on some Ivy League grad transfers to fill the three voids we have. No idea whether Burnett or the other guy will make it in either.
It’s either high school kids, kids who have done only one year in college or grad transfer. Good fucking luck navigating NIL, the transfer portal and all the other shit that goes along with college hoops with this kind of handcuffing.
When people were mad last year, Terrance Shannon would have made quite a difference. When people are mad this year, keep in mind of why exactly that is.
This could be one of the worst power conference teams in college basketball
Honestly, this is probably a net positive.
Yeah but who are you replacing him with?
An all Ivy 1st teamer. Oh wait, Jordan Dingle is spoken for.
Rollercoaster...of Love.
Say what?
We've lost that Lovin' Feeling.
Here is a thought quit wasting time on kids whose credits won’t transfer or won’t have their high school classes recognized by university!
This is a Juwan problem at this point
Shocked. Program is a tire fire. But keep those maize glasses on. Our basketball program is mirroring MSUs football program.
NOTHING is Juwan's fault here.
Slap another coach....the Wisky assistant's fault
Roster Construction mess....admissions
End game coaching miscues...bad luck
Let's not forget corrupt refs, sending Hunter to the bench 8 minutes in. Despite his "svelte" defensive approach.
I really can get behind the first one. JB ran a Princeton style offense and that type of system needs to happen at Michigan
With the level of talent he can get into Princeton he's doing outstanding.
And for sure, he's shown he can coach in the clutch moments.
Don't think I can say that about everyone.......
I’ve done a deep dive into the Princeton offense the last two months. It’s super intriguing and the system works
That's interesting. You must love bball.
I coach high school and am always trying to learn new offenses for the changes of high school talent and how to stop them in case I run into them.
I just love the freedom of reads guys can make but it can be super hard for high school kids who aren't basketball first kids to run
I also love college basketball.
I'm (not) Bill Bradley and I approve this message.
I don't mind either one of these choices.
But who in their right mind is going to come to Michigan basketball if we can't NIL, & can't get players through the portal due to admissions? If I'm Mitch or Dutch, I would say "thanks, but no thanks...you guys really have to get your shit together first".
As long as there's dinosaurs at the University of Michigan who think that a football or basketball team has anything at all to do with education...Michigan will be severely limited in what it can do and the national title drought is likely to continue indefinitely.
Did he decommit because admissions wouldn't accept all his transferring credits, or did another team out bid Michigan's NIL?
UNC “education” is trash 🗑️
Sure. Keep telling yourself that.
Haha. If only we had more cuckold losers in our fan base to give our paycheck money away to teenagers for NIL. For the moment I guess I’ll just have to put that extra money away for my children. Bummer. Would be nice to pay for a sweet 16 team lthough… would make for a good Saturday or Sunday in March…maybe on the Peackock channel.
Show me on the Beilein doll where they touched you.
Damn, that’s a shame. His pick and roll game with TWill would have been unstoppable
Dudek working for the basketball program now?
Looking forward to the football season and let's hope Juwan can rebound and have a good 2024 recruiting class
Go Blue!
good chance to see what juwan/staff can do with what they got.
Take heart and look for players to step up ala stu, novak and simms (one of my favorites for carrying us a few off years).
Michigan always has enough to compete and surprise us. If they play coherent team bball during the big ten season they WILL make the big ten tournament.
I can't tell if you're serious. Every team in the conference makes the conference tournament.
If there's a way not to Juwan will find it, and 49% of the people here won't blame him.
what do you know, jersey. thanks for the education. i'm going back to my bunker now for a few years to avoid the hypersonics and nukes. oi vey.
I find it hard to believe that Shannon could go to Illinois and Love could go to UNC but they can't get into Michigan. Those are two prestigious universities. It's not like they played at West Mississippi Junior College.
You hate to see it, but let's be honest. Caleb Love alone wasn't going to make this team a contender. We are entering the darkness of Michigan Basketball again. It was fun while it lasted. I'll never forget these last several years. Now we go back to mediocrity.
Such is sports. It's a Rollercoaster of ups and downs.
you forgot to forget or something like that.
Doh!
Fuckity fuck fuck
Well, that sucks.
Football school
Gonna be a real bad time this year. But hey FOOTBALL
Fucking shit show.
Everyone that kept saying it was just rumors over and over well...
Is Michigan the only major school with this issue? Sure seems like it.
I don’t mind Michigan sticking to its guns on whatever it’s policies are with transferring credits. Yes it’s inconvenient at times with getting kids in through the portal, but if Michigan is going to try playing the whole academic integrity card, then you can’t necessarily let this go by the wayside.
What irritates me is that Howard hasn’t seemed to adjust to the situation. This is two years in a row where he’s gotten burned by what could be a major impact player having to spurn Michigan because of transferring credits. Why are all parties not on the same page on this? I’m sure there are now plenty of guys that Michigan could’ve picked up on instead of Love who have now instead committed to other schools, and we’ll once again be scrambling to pick up the pieces.

Is this the moment when the original Fab Five get together and work on finding a new version of the Fab Five for the Michigan Recruiting Class of 2024?
I like that idea. gymrats are everywhere.
