Submitted by UMProud on

What series did you just finish or are currently addicted to and on what network?  Noticed a bunch of new Amazon original series on Prime are any of them good?

Used to work nights up until a few years ago so I missed out on a few shows.

Just finished watching The Office, now I'm working through Parks and Rec, I'm on season 6 now.

Currently binging Shameless on Netflix. It's been good so far. I binged breaking bad on Netflix too but I'm fairly certain everyone has seen that by now. As for original series, peaky blinders is a good one on Netflix.

Now that takes me down memory lane. That show had more cursing and vulgar language than any television series I've ever seen. Loved it.
It also had Timothy Olyphant. Aka Raylon Givens on the FX tv series Justified. Another great one.

Sons of Anarchy is great too if you have not seen that. I'm not a biker guy and it starts out a little slow / cheezie acting but that show gets it done. About season 3 or 4 the creativity and genius really starts to come out. Very violent. But damn. It's good.

Too bad HBO pulled the plug before the final season.  The writing on that show was spectacular, especially the use of foul language that wasn't just for the sake of swearing.

Just had a baby so been up late binge watching. Watched GOT all seasons in 3 weeks! Other good shows: Stranger Things - great Netflix show for this that few up in 80s. WestWorld (hbo) very unique sci-fi. Violent. Border Town - subtitles. I think it's Swedish or Finish (Finland?) entertaining crime drama. Main lead Feels like Taken but homicide crime drama vs action-y Cable On demand 60 days in - documentary style prison show. Regular people go into jail undercover. All filmed. Leftovers (hbo?) - unique. Sci-fi : thriller? Drama? Hard to explain. Unique storyline that you don't see often. Season1 is weird. Hang in there bc season 2 is good. Season 3 just premiered last week

The expanse is fantastic hard Sci Fi if you're into that sort of thing at all. First season is on prime, 2nd season should be up soon. Also Mr. Robot is great.

I feel the same. I never read the book but the ending was a bit telegraphed with regard to Jane's abuser while there was zero resolution to Madeleine's storyline. Good acting though. Laura Seen has always been a favorite, and I thought Nicole Kidman was excellent at capturing battered wife syndrome.

My wife and I aren't huge bingers like some of our friends are, but within the last year we've done a couple:

-Man in the High Castle

-Stranger Things

-Westworld, but I wasn't a huge fan. I struggled just to understand what the hell was going on half the time. Seemed like an extremely complicated mashup of Jurassic Park and Terminator.

-Friday Night Lights. Should've watched this way, way sooner. We both loved it.

-I binge House of Cards when it comes out, but she isn't a big fan. Ever since Underwood killed the dog in the first scene of the show, she said she'd had enough. But I love the show. Just more proof of Kevin Spacey's mastery of all things acting.

Beyond binging, we've got a few we watch together when they come on. GoT, Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, and Designated Survivor. We watch The Mick which is pretty funny, and I've been trying to get her to watch It's Always Sunny. I love that show, but she is not even remotely interested in it.

Planning to start Fargo at some point. Heard great things about that show, especially with Billy Bob Thornton.

I was so hyped to watch this show-- I'm a political junkie and thought this would be my favorite series ever-- but I only made it two episodes in before giving up. I thought it was awful. I couldn't quite pinpoint if it was Spacey's acting or the script, maybe both, but it just didn't work. The accent was the terrible icing on the disappointment cake.

Finished season one of iron first. It's ok. Nothing to write home about. My all time favorite was deadwood. Breaking bad next along with stranger things. Office is good until the last few seasons. Watching Futurama with my 10 year old has been fun. Watching some of the original power rangers with my three year old has been oddly enjoyable. The older I get, the more I enjoy campy stuff.
