Oregon 3/4 years is weird but otherwise this seems okay? Preserves the MSU/OSU home and away split, and only one West Coast trip per year.

I'm less interested in the west coast teams being on the schedule (was always going to happen) than I am seeing PSU rotate off the schedule for the next 2 years. Not afraid of Frames but at least the schedule isn't a wholesale dogpile on us.

I know we get on the SEC for doing it, but I think it's time to look at playing a non-conference cupcake the week before the OSU game. While on paper the schedule looks exiting, not sure 18-22 year old bodies are going to be able to withstand this.

So, question: It looks like the way the Texas and OU series are set up there will be alternating years of 6 and 8 home games. I'm reading this correctly yes? I can't imagine this is ideal for the AD nor for season ticket holders. Am I missing something?

I suspect we'll see some changes to those schedules... although I do think that the 2024 game is probably locked in.

The AD would rather play 7+ home games a year -- I think all teams should be limited to 6 -- but I think they might accept a 6 home game schedule with three or four marquee opponents.

IF Michigan can persuade Oklahoma to flip the home and home, I believe some of the issue goes away.  That would mean.. Oklahoma in Ann Arbor in ‘25, and Michigan on the road at Oklahoma in ‘26 and Austin in ‘27.  Based on my read - and proposed flip - it would be eight  home games in ‘24 - seven in ‘25, and ‘26 - and six home games in ‘27.

We either avoid Dante Moore or get senior Dante Moore which would mean he has under performed.  So there's that.

As stated yesterday it's a daunting schedule but at least interesting.  And home game schedule next year looks more fun.  Those schools do have to fly 3 hours out here and if it's a noon kick will be playing at 9 AM their time.  Also many of those opponents will lose their QBs to the NFL so it won't be quite so tough as it looks "today".  And next year with the loss of many seniors was going to be a tougher year anyhow vs the current and preceding 2.

A good goal is 10-2, 9-3 and see if that gets us in the expanded playoffs.  Then recharge for 2025.  (Who knows who will be coaching by then)

Yeah, that's not as bad as I thought.  Yes it's two games against Oregon and USC next year but those teams will have new QBs and they're at home.  Washington is in the same boat in terms of a new QB plus a bunch of new WRs.  And after that it's mostly 1 new team on the road and one at home.  Feels pretty reasonable.

Interesting that we pivoted the Texas game to be home in 2024, and now its looking like I bet they wished it was flipped again.

2027 now 6 home games and 2024 has 8. Usually from what I remember they want 7 each year.

Same thing now with the OU series and 25/26

Michigan and Texas are going to drop their series I think. Way too much on Michigan’s plate especially vs OSU and MSU’s schedule. They are at a competitive disadvantage.

What an absolute fucking joke. We have to play Washington, Oregon and USC next year not to mention an ooc game against Texas. Ohio State gets Oregon and Penn State only. I'm tired of Michigan getting fucked. Warde needs to fucking go.

This is a cowardly take and you should feel bad.

What are we, Staee?  Crying about having to play real football teams instead of nobodies, to puff up our résumé.

Not that I think these teams are actually any good -- UW will be UW again once Penix leaves, and be good once every 20 years.  And Oregon will turn back into a pumpkin when the Nike money no longer gives them a competitive advantage.

The people who should be scared are the nine fans of the Pac-12 teams, who now have to play Michigan, OSU, PSU, etc. on the regular.

Not enough cupcakes, we'll see how many Michigan tries to get out of before the start of each of those seasons.

From a fans perspective I think it's awesome, makes watching games actually enjoyable and tickets actually worth the price.

Absolutely brutal in 2024

Fresno State, Texas, USC, Washington, Oregon, OSU. Literally half of the current Top 10 teams, plus a great G5 team

Breaking in a new QB, and 3 or 4 new starters on the OL. Could be a rough year

One bummer is that there is a very real chance we don't get to play against Dante Moore at UCLA as I would assume he has a good shot to be a 3 year declare.  We will see.

Once again, we go 3 years without playing Penn State.  They're not having a protected rivalry game must over the long-term really soften their schedule.  See list below:

The guaranteed annual protected Big Ten matchups are:

Illinois-Northwestern,

Illinois-Purdue,

Indiana-Purdue,

Iowa-Minnesota,

Iowa-Nebraska,

Iowa-Wisconsin,

Maryland-Rutgers,

Michigan-Michigan State,

Michigan-Ohio State,

Minnesota-Wisconsin,

Oregon-Washington,

UCLA-USC.

Next year is maybe the best possible home schedule possible (in a non-Ohio State year) for ticketholders: USC, Texas, Oregon, ALL THREE TROPHY GAMES, and a quality Fresno State program. Wow!

It should be no surprise at all that they have us playing Oregon, USC and Washington in year one.  I know many are happy with this but the unbalanced schedules are really going to tick me off.  I’d rather they just drop the home and home with Texas now.  How many other teams are going to be playing a slate of this level opponents?  Don’t give us everybody and give other teams…considerably less.

I assume the conference will add more team and anything past 2024 will change but in the meantime I love it! That schedule looks way more interesting than what we've had this year. And with the expanded playoff a 10-2 B1G team is probably getting in anyway so I'd rather see tough games than cupcakes.

Now the rest of the existing B1G (outside of the big 3) needs to up their game, it's pretty pathetic for a conference with so much $$ to not have anyone else in the top 25.

Potential replacements for Texas: Oregon State, Wazzu, Rice, Kennesaw State, or FCS schools.

With the three incoming schools on the schedule vs one each for OSU and MSU UM is at a distinct competitive disadvantage. Particularly when you look at their respective OOCs. Warde has to address this.

So we see every school in 4 years, visit every campus buy Wisconsin and Purdue, and everyone sees us but Nebraska and Northwestern (all of which is remedied in the 5th year). Every year we get SC, OSU or PSU at home - so a big home game.

All thing considered...that's pretty good?

For as bad as this year’s home schedule is, next year is like the complete opposite. MSU, Oregon, USC and Texas all come to Ann Arbor. And then OSU and Washington on the road.

Going to be a brutal schedule next year no matter how you slice it, but only one West Coast trip and no Penn State, so it’s not unreasonable. Honestly with that schedule, 10-2 gets you into the CFP. Maybe even 9-3 if all the losses are really close.

That’s five teams that are all currently ranked in the top-10, two in the top-5.
