Jim Harbaugh and Jamie Morris.
Chad Henne and Mike Hart.
Denard Robinson and Denard Robinson.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:25 PM ^
And by the way...Denard thing is funny, but it's not a joke.
In 2010, Denard played one fewer game than Cade did this year and threw for SIX less yards and threw 3 more TDs.
In 2010, Denard played one fewer game than Hassan did this year and rushed for 375 MORE yards with 14 less carries.
That is absolutely insane.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:33 PM ^
I just want to get elite talent into the program. I love the talent of JJ and Edwards. Not hating on others , just want Michigan football to be the best it can be.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:54 PM ^
...don't we all?
January 20th, 2022 at 11:02 PM ^
It's a big boy business. I don't think everyone understands that.
January 21st, 2022 at 11:50 AM ^
Go away already.
January 21st, 2022 at 1:48 AM ^
Say word! Denard is criminally undervalued. He was also our last all american rb in 15 years .... as a qb. Lol
Denard finished his career as arguably the best/ most productive rb in UM history AND as a top 5 um qb of all time.
When you consider that this was done mostly off sophomore season and up to the Minnesota game of Jr season, it seems even more ridiculous. Dude was an absolute machine.
January 21st, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
What's criminal is he and Devin Gardner wasn't used together more often. Both guys on the field at the same time would have created match-up nightmares for opponents. Not a lot of teams could have kept both threats contained. Flee-flickers, jet sweeps, statue of liberty plays. It would have been fun to watch.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:26 PM ^
Nice list. How about some love for Rick Leach / Gordie Bell?
January 20th, 2022 at 10:30 PM ^
You tell the board who you like. I watched Rick and Gordie live. Gordie Bell was a hell of a talent. So was Rick "The Peach" Leach.
January 20th, 2022 at 11:31 PM ^
Leach / Lytle
Wangler / Woolfolk
Taylor-Brown / Boles-Hoard
Whoever / Wheatley
January 21st, 2022 at 2:38 AM ^
I love any Gordon Bell reference, but Leach was only with him for his freshman season ... which was great for a freshman but far from Leach's best. Leach and Lytle (2 or 3 years?) was better.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:34 PM ^
I sure do miss shoelace and his big ass smile!!
January 21st, 2022 at 9:40 AM ^
Tom Harmon and Tom Harmon, and we didn't need a kicker either.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:14 PM ^
I’ll vote write in ballot.
Cade and Hassan
JJ and Edwards are tbd.
Cade and Blake also tbd.
Leach and Huckleby from my childhood
January 20th, 2022 at 10:54 PM ^
Leach beat OSU with his legs in 76.
Leach beat OSU with his arm in 78.
January 21st, 2022 at 10:31 AM ^
18 year old local legend lining up under center as true freshman was pretty big event.
January 21st, 2022 at 9:52 AM ^
What in the hell is wrong with all you people? Do you not remember a certain Rose Bowl with Grbac and Wheatley?
January 21st, 2022 at 10:26 AM ^
Hard to argue.
January 21st, 2022 at 10:43 AM ^
Same, this will always be my favorite combo
January 20th, 2022 at 10:15 PM ^
Henne/Hart
January 20th, 2022 at 10:16 PM ^
Henne / Hart (not sure which of four years was best)
Robinson / Toussaint 2011
McNamara / Haskins 2021
January 20th, 2022 at 10:47 PM ^
Probably the year Henne/Hart beat Ohio State (ducks head).
I think not beating OSU should eliminate them from contention.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:55 PM ^
You are 100% correct.
January 21st, 2022 at 11:02 AM ^
Under this criteria [Collins?]\ Biakabatuka are the hands down winners. Collins gets forgotten a lot, but I thought he was as good or better than Grbac and that most of the guys after him weren’t quite as good in college. I may be misremembering.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
Kern/Taylor made for a great QB/HB combo one November Saturday back in '69
January 20th, 2022 at 10:27 PM ^
Plus one. Great post.
January 20th, 2022 at 11:34 PM ^
I think you mean Don Morehead
January 20th, 2022 at 11:36 PM ^
We intercepted 6 passes that game. Morehead was good. But Kern was just as good for us.
January 21st, 2022 at 8:07 AM ^
what do you mean Morehead WAS good. Morehead is and will always be good.
January 21st, 2022 at 10:12 AM ^
Oh I definitely meant Kern. He did more good for us that day than Morehead
January 20th, 2022 at 10:22 PM ^
Henne/Hart, Cade/Haskins
JJ/Edward's one day but probably JJ/Corum first.
January 21st, 2022 at 7:22 AM ^
Yeah, people are really forgetting about Corum. Was injured down the stretch last year but he’s gonna be back fully healthy and play really well. We’ll have a nice duo next year.
January 21st, 2022 at 10:57 AM ^
People have short memories. Prior to his injury, Corum had only received about 10 fewer carries than Haskins and there were several games he was the leader in carries. If he had not gotten injured I imagine he would have had around 200 carries.
January 21st, 2022 at 11:50 AM ^
That may be true, but Haskins made that offence go when the defenses got tougher. Corum can break the big one, but he can't wear them down and make the defense do unsound things.
Imho, Haskins is the biggest loss off the team this year.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:29 PM ^
Tom Brady and Anthony Thomas
January 20th, 2022 at 10:32 PM ^
stats be damned --
Leach/Lytle (Huckleby) '76
Henne/Hart (pick a year)
you all can duke it out for 3rd
January 20th, 2022 at 10:35 PM ^
Lytle was a f'ing beast.
So was Leach.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:35 PM ^
Threet / Minor
January 20th, 2022 at 10:42 PM ^
The only right answer.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:56 PM ^
Cone / Grady better.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:45 PM ^
Denard/Toussaint
Both of these dudes rushed for 1000+ in the same season.
Fitz does not get enough love. He was a quality back and proved it by staying in the NFL for half a decade. He did work if he could get some blocks.
January 21st, 2022 at 3:43 AM ^
One of the most underrated guys in recent program history
January 20th, 2022 at 10:48 PM ^
Eric Hipple and Billy Sims

Don't sleep on Jeff Komlo.

Grbac/Wheatley
January 20th, 2022 at 10:59 PM ^
Lots of talent on that team
January 21st, 2022 at 11:49 AM ^
I can’t believe this was so far down the thread.
In 1992 Wheatley was the Big Ten rushing and scoring champion in an offense where Gorbachev (ha,I want to correct this, but this is the best auto-correct I have seen in a while. Gorby was awesome) was also a statistical Big Ten champion.
January 20th, 2022 at 10:59 PM ^
I loved Henne/Hart personally
January 20th, 2022 at 11:00 PM ^
Todd Collins & Tyrone Wheatley
