Ben Herbert
All year long, we've watched Michigan physically dominate other teams. Yet I've rarely heard our strength and conditioning coach, Ben Herbert, mentioned. This guy deserves a huge amount of credit for the success that the Wolverines have had in the past 3 years. Nobody has been more physical than Michigan. Huge props to Ben Herbert!!

Very informative title and post, OP. Well done on giving us absolutely nothing of worth.

I think that the OP was deliberately doing exactly what the posting etiquette sticky was telling everyone not to do. It cannot be accidental that the OP and title were so bad.

I think he's every bit as important to keeping as JH or JJ.
Unfortunately, I'm sure Jim takes him along for the ride if he leaves.

I'm not sure BH has any interest in coaching in the pros. He seems to love the "build strong players and characters" role, and pro players are not going to buy into what he does best.

For the love of Jim Harbaugh, let's please end the Justin Feagin titling

What are you talking about? After Minter and Rone, Herbert is likely the best known assistant.

He's mentioned almost as much as Camp Sanderson (more now), and every time there is an OMG Shirtless!

He certainly is a huge factor in the 4th quarter. The team started getting way better when he arrived. The roster management of "get old and stay old" has really helped too.

sigh.

The unsung heroes are our analysts. It was quite clear from both playoff games - especially Bama - that our org really did plan from day one last spring for a championship run.
There’s only so much the coaching staff can handle given both the immediate responsibilities and recruiting duties. Jesse Minter wasn’t knee deep in weekly review of Buckeye O game film review. Rick Minter was. Rick’s study gave Jesse the material from which to design the coverages.
The offensive analyst was the one who did season long self scouting and proposed running RB Mesh for the opening TD against Bama. And a bunch of other tendency breakers.

@JoeFink; you must have been living under a rock. Ben has gotten a lot of mention. The camera has been on him more than a few times in each game on TV. He's the bold guy with the intense look on his face.
Jim has given Ben a lot of mention in post game comments as well. The players also gave Ben honorable mention.

He's mentioned every day, All Day!!

Harbaugh, if you leave, you’d better damn well leave Ben Herbert where he is.

What's the head coach's name again? Seems like he must be OK, too. I'll look it up and let y'all know

I got to meet him the day before the game. Awesome dude. I'm not that large of a human being, but he is a monster.

He's worth every penny of that $1,000,000 plus bonus he is getting paid.
And, he is Michigan's version of JACK REACHER

You serious? You should have seen him walk out of the Rose Bowl to bus after the game and heard the reaction from all of the people seeing him.

upvoting so that no one misinterprets disapproval for author's ignorance as disapproval for coach.

They should really pay him like a million dollars or something! He deserves it!
