Per Balas, Michigan, media gathering evidence on PIs

Article not paywalled

"Several sources at Michigan and in the media tell TheWolverine.com they are gathering evidence on two private investigators they believe are behind the investigation into U-M’s alleged illegal on-site scouting. The same sources also believe the two are responsible for the media leaks that have kept the story in the news for weeks"

Didn't see this on the board. Haven't posted in many years. Please be gentle

The confrontational energy for the OSU game is going to be off the charts.

The stakes for other Michigan-OSU games in the past 45 years since 1978 have been as high, but I think you have to go back to the days of Bo vs Woody for two coaches who are as hated by the opponent as Harbaugh and Day are.

What makes this different is that the personal animosity between Harbaugh and Day far exceeds what existed between Bo and Woody, who basically had great respect for each other. Harbaugh will never speak at a dinner honoring Ryan Day like Bo did for Hayes, for example.

Nothing has ever been like this.  Michigan needs to win to not only accomplish their lofty goals, but to shut everyone up, mostly the OSU fan base who is lock step in yelling that the last 2 years are completely attributable to this (they aren't, try blocking Hutchinson, or tackling Edwards).  If we don't, the shit that will be said afterwards nationwide will be unbearable.

Ryan Day desperately needs to win because he basically just told the entire country the last two years are completely attributable to this.  The way he has handled it to try and get Harbaugh fired like a petulant bed wetting child puts the pressure completely on him.  If we kick their ass I feel bad for the 90 year old man Ryan Day will find to scream at afterwards about how tough he is.

If both Michigan and OSU are undefeated and still ranked somewhere in the top 4 for the playoff, it's an easy argument to make.

The TV ratings will be absolutely enormous, and SignGate—regardless of how bogus it is—will draw in plenty of viewers who otherwise don't give a shit about college football, or The Game.

I say that if the Big Ten decides to punish Michigan now and ban them from the Conference Champ game, then Michigan should skip the OSU game (the real Championship game anyways).

If you are going to punish us now, then punish us NOW…

Warde would never do this, but maybe Ono has balls just big enough to throw Michigan not playing OSU on the table…

Don't put this all on Ryan Day. I don't think for a moment that he did this in a vacuum. The AD was definitely involved. And, based on Gordon Gee's comments about Tressel having more power than he does, it wouldn't surprise me if this low blow went to the highest levels of the OSU administration. Football runs that school.

A lot of the OSU fan base knows they are likely to lose to Michigan, perhaps badly…again.  They are calling for Michigan to be banned from completing the season and are already saying that they can’t win because we have gained such a tremendous advantage over the past three years.  Apparently, they can’t possibly change their signs because it would take an eternity and there just isn’t enough practice time.  It is hilarious that they don’t know that everyone knows their signs are being stolen (because it is completely within the rules) and everyone takes measures to address it.
