Aubrey Solomon right knee surgery?

Submitted by UMoutwest on

Just saw this on instagram from a Michigan fan account and cannot confirm the validity of this, but according to Aubrey Solomon's snapchat story he had surgery on his right knee. No official word yet.

Big loss for D-Line if true

My biggest concern this year was offensive line. My next concern was replacing Mo Hurst. He was Aaron Donald for us. Even if we returned 10 of 11 starters, it's hard to imagine the same level of defense without that guy. It's going to be damn near impossible if Solomon is also out, and Dwumfor is indeed way overhyped.

Couldn't agree more.

Also, good teams are starting to figure out how to attack Don browns defense. Similar to what happened with Urban Meyers gimicky offenses... They worked like a charm when he first got to OSU but over the course of a few seasons the better teams figured out how to defend it (they never would have won a title had barrett not gotten injured in The Game because it forced Meyer to change up the offense to better suit Jones). Brown is going to have to adapt in order to continue the level of success he has had over his first few years in Ann arbor.

It's not like Don Brown's defense was some sort of big mystery. It's complex and it's aggressive and it's hard to attack. But all defenses have vulnerabilities; the question is whether or not those vulnerabilities can be exploited.

Literally every defense in football has bad games. Clemson had an amazing defense last year and they got absolutely rocked by Syracuse of all teams. Bama pitches a bad game or two every season. And in the NFL, even uber-genius Bill Belichek can get carved up by superstars like... uh, Nick Foles.

Nothing's changed with Brown or other teams. It's hard to succeed. It's not impossible.

(btw, who is "Jones?")

If your players aren’t very good at man to man in Brown’s defense it’s actually relatively easy to attack, at least for a good team (not necessarily saying that’s the case for us).

Yes every team has vulnerabilities and bad games but there’s levels to it.

And I believe he’s referring to Cardale.

OSU would not have beaten Oregon in the championship game is they didn't loose no less than seven (7) receivers (wideouts and tight ends) in the last four games of the season due to suspension and injury.  In the fourth quarter of the championship game they were running plays with two running backs lined up as wide outs.  It is hard to win a championship when your offensive playbook has been simplified for sustitutes.

Much has been made about OSU winning the game but few seem to  mention why Oregon lost the game.

If true, this is not your average “next man up” situation.  This would be a massive loss.  I have maintained a positive outlook until now, but that would change things.  I really hope this isn’t true.  For him.  For the team big time.

And was completely ineffective.  Solomon was beasting up at the end of last year.  He probably didn’t play a lot because of this injury, and consequently we got nothing from our interior line.  I apparently think this is a much more significant development than most.  Between the Black injury and this one, I think this would be measurably more damaging.

I just saw him in the dining hall yesterday and don't recall him wearing and boot or brace. And he was walking so it would seem the injury was pretty minor.
