Or the opponent

The fact that six nitwits like this post does not make it any less dumb. If you think the team or coaches don't approach what they do with enthusiasm you're bananas. If you think anything as stochastic as a fumble is purposeful, you're flat-out stupid. Jimmy does a pretty good job of talking through each fumble in his post-game presser, but listening to it and commenting thoughtfully afterward would require a different order of analytic ability. . . the most banal forms of complaint are what you find here in the aftermath of games, including after wins. 'What fans deserve'. . . self-entitled hoohoo.

Year 5. Glad you are happy with the product. I’m sure osu is happy also
September 7th, 2019 at 11:24 PM ^
The offense looked completely different today than it did against MTSU
September 7th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Fucking shitshow for the ages!
Next and only win the rest of the year will be against Rutgers. (If we are lucky)
September 7th, 2019 at 4:42 PM ^
You must be insanely drunk or just know nothing about football.
September 7th, 2019 at 11:59 PM ^
Sarcasm dumbass.
At least you didn’t disagree with my shitshow comment.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Not only did Michigan beat Army, we won't be reading any more silly takes about Josh Gattis' super-octane SPEED IN SPACE offense any more. It's win-win!
September 7th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
Zach Charbonnet. Plus painfully obvious we were out coached and out schemed. Next time when you have not had the lead yet on 4 & 3 in 4th quarter, hopefully learned you kick the fg for first lead against clock chewers.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
It’s always one thing or another with this team.
When Gattis is calling an amazing game, Shea and the 3rd strong RB can’t hold onto the fucking ball.
When the defense finally gets stops, Harbaugh decides to pucker on offense.
Idk what the fuck to make of Don Browns 3 man front bs.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
The OL bit is inexplicable to me. The running play designs are not particularly different than last year, and our RB is just as good. The tackles are new, but the interior just isn’t getting it done. The same interior, running the same plays, that road graded most of the B1G last year
Warinner is a good coach. We have good plays. This should not be. It is bizarre.
And it reminds me of the late Hoke era. You can’t identify any one thing that’s the one problem. But things are bad.
re: Shea—something is wrong. This was 2017 Speight-like. I think he must be more seriously hurt than we expect. It’s the only explanation for the choice not to run and for the odd accuracy issues.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Shea never struck me as accurate last year, he makes his stats on waiting until our receivers are wide open and then just throwing it near them. An accurate QB would try to fit the ball occasionally.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Consistency was his issue last year. There were times when he had pinpoint accuracy, even on deep throws. Others, yes you're right. The deep touchdown to Tarik Black in the first game this year is reminiscent of what you speak of.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:16 PM ^
Exactly right. He is so slooow in his decision making. Then his passes are just as often inaccurate. Michigan's O will never be more than average with him starting.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:55 PM ^
Patterson looks flat out bad.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
I agree with everything you said. Right down to the Hoke era comparison. I do think these coaches are much better and should be able to right the ship at some point. I point to Shea's injury as the biggest issue with this offense right now. Klatt said something about Shea's oblique being the issue. I didn't hear anything about a tear or a strain but it is an oblique issue. That sounds like an injury that would affect his throwing motion for sure. Every throw, especially deep throws, would cause pain. He was visibly wincing after the missed throw to Collins in the endzone in the second overtime.
If it is that bad, he should not be playing. I don't understand Harbaugh's issue with putting in DCaf. Is he really that bad that an injured Shea Patterson that can't throw deep and won't pull the ball on reads is better? I have a hard time believing that.
He made the right decision with Kaepernick and Alex Smith in the pros, similar situation here. I just don't get why he won't do whats right.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
Agree on bizarre and Shea. That was such a profoundly weird offensive game. I’m legit looking forward to the analysis over the next couple of weeks.
September 7th, 2019 at 11:57 PM ^
Good points. But if Shea is hurt, why not put in Dcaff? Unless.....he's not all that great. I thought we had the deepest stable of talent at QB we've had in decades? Hmmmm.....yet another utter crock of shit.
September 8th, 2019 at 10:56 AM ^
I hear no one except your post discussing the O-line. IMO that was the issue today, not Gattis, Harbaugh or Shea. Our O-line got beat on both pass and run plays by Army. 2.5 yards a carry and many many pressures. That is the core problem with the game IMO, not any of the other things people are mad about.

Pep wins this game by 14 in regulation.

Double post yeah!
A question worth asking more than twice.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
Uhhhhh. Sometimes Shea's passing looked crisp. Most of the time it was chaos
I hate running in short yardage from the shotgun. It sucks. Get off my lawn.
Early returns are Locksey 1 Gattis 0

This game wasn’t close because Army is good, it was close because Harbaugh is a jackass who doesn’t take out an injured QB. It was close because the horrible play calling. It was close because Gattis isn’t as good as advertised.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
In fairness, literally no one other than Michigan fans were advertising Gattis as being a great Offensive Coordinator. No one.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
I miss Tim Drevno

That's a pretty dumb comment.

But quite funny.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Better get their shit together, real soon.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
I think we have to hope for a 2014 OSUish turn around or else 4 losses is real, very real. Not saying UM is going to make a playoff run but dang they look discombobulated on offense. I don't know why the O line isn't pushing supposedly inferior D lines around.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Shea Patterson apologists can get fucked. He had no business being on the field today.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
Ruiz all sucked a whole chode!

SPEEEEEEED
IN
SPACE!!!!!!!!
September 7th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
To be fair, they never defined whether it was wide open space or a very tightly crammed space 2” from the line of scrimmage.
Its on all of us for not getting clarification.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:17 PM ^
It's actually Speed In Planck-length Space
September 8th, 2019 at 12:12 PM ^
You sir, must have actually gone to UM. A truly unexpected yet telling comment
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Disaster. It could not have been worse.
310 total yards in a full game + 2 OTs?
Embarrassing
September 7th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
While I agree that the offense was bad. The total yardage is not the metric, yards per play would be, given the way army takes the air out of the ball, leading to fewe possessions.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
The offense was so bad I went from a rationale logical fan to a mouth breathing mlive commentator by the end of that game. Seriously - wtf were those play calls?
September 7th, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
Felt like Gattis went full sphincter ball part way through the game. He was LOVIN a bunch of Charbonnet drives for 2 yards.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Why is Shea never ever keeping it when he could gain swaths of yards????????
Either it's a coaching decision that is shit. Or it's Shea making the wrong read and it's shit. Or Shea is injured, in which case why isn't DCaff playing instead? Or it's Shea is weak and doesn't want to get hit.
Whatever it is, it's shit and it needs to stop.
Oh, also pass it Nico more. Lots more.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Really curious as to why on earth Patterson is playing ahead of McCaffery. RPO is a huge part of our offense(Or at least I thought it was) and he can't run. He keeps fumbling the ball and his passes are on target MAYBE half the time. It boggles my mind how McCaffery never even got a series.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
This part all day. Shea is either injured or off. Either way, give Dylan a shot. Then he got in and they didn’t let him throw or keep it or roll him out when the kid has wheels. It seems like the O was/is in a very familiar shell.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
DM is a better runner than Patterson. Seems like more of a gamer too.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Shit show, clown show, fart, stumble, trip, wrong way, face plant, bumble, fumble, joke.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
The offense could not take care of the ball.
The coaches were poopy-heads with their playcalling
Football is stupid.
I don't care if that's a haiku or not. That's what I'm going with.
