Jedd Fisch vs not Jedd Fisch
September 8th, 2019 at 8:57 AM ^
I see Gattis's mouth moving, but I hear Harbaugh's plays coming out.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
Because he is a fraud built up by Andrew Luck and one good season by Kapernick.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:25 PM ^
He had good QB play at SD as well. His rep was earned, but he's gone a long way towards soiling that rep at this point.
Too many pod casts. Too many trips. Too much bullshit. Win some fucking games and stop making it look so damn hard.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:50 PM ^
Those are cheap shots at Harbaugh. Rest makes sense
September 7th, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
I’d rather Harbaugh get the team ready to attach with some enthusiasm, rather than fart around telling stupid stories for the clapping homers.
September 8th, 2019 at 12:28 AM ^
If you don't think they are using every available minute of the allotted NCAA practice and prep time to get ready, you are nuts.
September 8th, 2019 at 1:20 PM ^
That's a huge leap. How about how he literally resurrected Alex Smith's career? How about how he turned a cast off college QB Rudock into an NFL QB? How has Kaepernick been without Harbaugh? Are you certain Luck would have been a great college QB without Harbaugh?
Harbaugh has not replicated this success over time here but saying he's a fraud with his past record is beyond ridiculous. Maybe he's lost his touch. But his reputation was built legitimately on numerous spectacular successes with QB's.
September 11th, 2019 at 8:31 PM ^
So Luck, Kaepernick’s best season (which he benched Alex Smith for), Rich Gannon’s “only” MVP season...yep Harbaugh just continued to get lucky so many years with QBs playing above their assumed ceiling in proximity to his coaching. Probably a fraud. Fer sher.
September 8th, 2019 at 8:05 AM ^
I think JH fills the QBs head with so much stuff that only those that can handle it (Luck, Rudock, Smith) show inprovement. The rest get caught up thinking too much and regress. It's like my golf swing.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
No was gaddis was calling many plays in second half
September 7th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
Collins and Black have to be disgusted to be playing in this offense.
Everyone said "Wait until Harbaugh has his players" though.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
All top players will sit out of the Fight Hunger Bowl.
September 8th, 2019 at 9:00 AM ^
They are so disgusted, that at times they refused to catch the ball.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
KEEP Running the read option!!! Wonder how many times it was ran in the last 10 minutes.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
It didn't even look like read option, just inside and outside zone--no read, no option, no RPO. We had two running plays all day.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
EXACTLY. What in the bloody hell. The SOB didn't pull it one time. And if he's hurt - get him the hell out of there. Just trash by JJH and Gattis - utter TRASH.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:56 PM ^
He did pull once in the first half - and he ate a corner blitz. He could have pulled a number of times in the first half for at least 10 yards each time.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
This looks like Borges' zone read all over again. There's no read. I don't know if they're protecting Shea or what but it sure looks like they have no idea how to run the zone read anymore or they're taking away the read from Shea
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Is it REALLY a read option if Patterson never pulls? If he isn’t right physically he shouldn’t be in the game.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:44 PM ^
He never pulls out?
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
DOH!! Double post - (executing like our offense).
While I am here...... I suggest every offensive player be forced to carry a football for the next two weeks straight...
September 7th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Haha. I was thinking the same thing. All day, all night. Bring it to class, on dates, everywhere.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
If he can’t keep it, he needs to be out. I want Shea as our QB, but we have a much weakened run game without the pull threat.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
I don’t want him to be our starting qb. He has no upside at this point. Back to back first drive fumble as senior. He is dead to me.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Feels like a homeless man’s version of Tua and Hurts.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
The offense was bad, I feel bad, but it's a great day to be a Michigan Wolverine because we won. Salute to Army, they're going to have a hell of a season.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
Army almost lost to Rice. Michigan will be lucky to win 8 games.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
Meh Army seems to always make it a close game. I mean seriously they could have should have would have beaten Oklahoma last year if not for mistakes.
We have stuff to clean up on offense but if we can get out of our way with the fumbles and poor coaching decisions like some of those 4 down calls we should be fine.
i guess one thing was I was surprised that the wide receivers were so well covered. Hopefully that doesn’t bode anything.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
Seriously, this was almost a replay of Army/Oklahoma.
The only difference (and worthy of fair criticism) is Michigan knew Army can be dangerous. Okie probably took Army more lightly than we should have.
We escaped. Whew. 2 weeks to improve.
September 7th, 2019 at 6:15 PM ^
I invite all of those who said M would cover the spread to admit they could not have been more wrong.
Wisconsin in two weeks.
Unless something changes fast, M will be fortunate to win 8 games this season.
September 7th, 2019 at 6:45 PM ^
If you only see the end score and think the games are similar, fair enough. If you actually watched both games, you’d know our performance is nothing like OU’s.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
A 6'5 receiver is never covered. See Higgins vs TAM. You throw it up to them and they make plays. We dont do that
September 7th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
This is my concern. Unbelievable. Especially against Army.
September 7th, 2019 at 10:21 PM ^
Yes, I would be pissed if I was Collins right now. Should get about 5 deep balls a game. Most would probably result in pass interference.
September 7th, 2019 at 11:14 PM ^
Oh, I think Shea through the ball up today, sometimes WAY UP
September 7th, 2019 at 4:14 PM ^
Army has a great chance of running the rest of their schedule. Good for them.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:53 PM ^
Username checks out
September 7th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
I was positive last week.
Fire everyone from a cannon this week. Putrid.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
Burn it with fire.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
The offense is putrid. Fumbles, dropped passes, etc. There is no excuse for Patterson not to pull the ball on the read.....Army was selling out and Michigan was not keeping the defense honest. If Patterson is hurt and can't run he should not be playing.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Michigan will not make to to my O/U 8.5
September 7th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
speedinspace#???
I didn't see much speed, AND I SURE AS FUCK DIDN'T SEE THE SPACE.
Josh Gattis, you got some 'splainin to do.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
It’s Gattis’ fault Shea is a horrible QB?
If our offensive playmakers held onto the ball, the score would be 28-7 in the first half.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Well, let's be honest--if that second, called-back TD with no replay counts we're talking about a game with markedly different psychology. Now twenty nincompoomps jump in and say but we didn't deserve, etc. which doesn't change that fact.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Ifs and buts. Fact: the TD was called back. Regardless, the offense was supposed to be the strength of our team this year and they looked totally dysfunctional. I would say that Army deserved to win that game over us because they came into the Big House as a huge underdog, took the initiative, and dictated the flow of the game.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
You're number one. You're number one. It's not an "if" that the game would have had a different complexion with a lead at that stage, it's a safe assumption.
"Deserved" is one of those particularly silly cliches that self-hating fans apply after the fact. Who's to say who "deserved" to win, not our hard-working D for example? Army played great and--in truth--it was a helluva game.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:54 PM ^
Think more creatively? You're equivocating about the meaning of the word "if".
I think my take is more rationale than self loathing. We can agree to disagree.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
You need to look up the meaning of the word equivocating, and I think you mean "rational," not rationale.
It's a different game if Michigan plays with the lead, especially coming out of the second half, and I think 99 out of any 100 sane onlookers agree.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
Ifs and buts are the fuel of this fan bases apologists. “If this play didn’t happen.” “If that call went our way.” “If the earth would’ve just rotated the other way last week.” “This team is a few breaks away from contending for a title.” Play up to your talent level and take care of the ball. All we as fans ask is to approach the game with the same enthusiasm that us fans do.
