Another Great Don Brown Interview --- Praises D. McCaffrey
https://michigan.247sports.com/Bolt/WATCH-Michigan-defensive-coordinato…
Thought you guys would enjoy this. Don Brown so animated in this interview. He's so much more entertaining and informative to listen to than anyone else on the staff. He absolutely praises Dylan McCaffrey during this, saying that he's been doing an unbelievable job as the scout team QB and is all business in his approach.
Brown was so excited about McCaffrey, that when asked about Brandon Peters, he just continued to talk about Dylan McCaffrey....
Our future with Peters, McCaffrey, Milton and Doyle looks extremely bright at the QB position. Brighter than it's been in a long time.

We heard a scout team QB was amazing, it was O'Korn....That being said, the outlook is way nicer this time around.

People will undoubtedly take this and run with it, ignoring he's running the SCOUT team and is not actually getting reps in Michigan's offense. Then if he doesn't win the job right away, they'll say "he's been in the program X years and isn't starting, he must be a bust!" Also, Hello Chris Balas.

And they'll definitely misinterpret Don saying he doesn't really remember Peters by forgetting that O'Korn was probably running the scout team last year more than he was so why would Don Brown remember him. I look forward to it.

I also think perhaps to Don Brown the reps against the Scout team may be most important therefore he doesn't really care as much or focus on how Peter's O'Korn etc are playing.

As our scout team is suppose to mimic our opposition it seems approprate our scout QB would play great. Opposing QBs seem to have great games against us.

If Peter's or McCaffrey win the job does Speight grad transfer and how serious were his shoulder and now broken vertebrae? Does he just live out his time as assistant QB coach and backup? Or will he be healthy and good enough to demand a starting job elsewhere and consider grad transferring.
I don't know him and his family enough to know the answer. I wish him the best but I feel bad for his career progression thus far. Injuries suck.

Only time can answer that one.
November 1st, 2017 at 8:22 PM ^
As of now, he will compete for the job next year. Highly doubtful he even thinks about transferring.
November 1st, 2017 at 8:31 PM ^
I really like his leadership and it sounds like he could help Peters in that area.
Think WS3 would be interesting in coaching in the future?

However, he is throwing again and could return as early as the Wisky game. He started light workouts and will be practicing again if fully cleared. Highly doubt he is ready for the Maryland road game.

...that's really good news. I was afraid he had to contemplate ending his career.
This is much better.

Wiscy and OSU will have to prepare for 2 different QBs, maybe 3!

Pep said "Peters is a work in progress"
So what was O'Korn or Speight?
SSS but Peters played pretty dang good in his first real playing time.

Unsolicited comments about McCaffery. Hmmmmm.....
DM is up to 199 lbs. He arrived at 174. Give the strength staff and DM credit for that. He is ready to compete.

No, it isn't FL, TX, GA, CA or even OH It's also not one of the Dakotas either. If a player is named the greatest high school qb in the history of a state, he's got to be one hell of a baller and in his case I can only see him getting better. Any scout team qb able to give the D the exact look of this week's opposition is rare, and I think Don said as much. He's doing an imitation of a D!, P5 qb already.
His lineage says he'll get bigger, faster, stronger. I'll go so far as to say we'll be able to implement a viable RPO with Dylan on the edges and it'll be one the D has to honor. This, seriously, is very good news. And you are right, DB is one hell of an interview.

Dean of Dudes, as our defensive coordinator. Very thankful we have him, and can't imagine many not wanting to play for him. Sounds like Dylan McCaffrey is having a very productive freshman year on the scout team. Bodes well. Thanks for posting Night_King. It was fun watching.
