Thought you guys would enjoy this. Don Brown so animated in this interview. He's so much more entertaining and informative to listen to than anyone else on the staff. He absolutely praises Dylan McCaffrey during this, saying that he's been doing an unbelievable job as the scout team QB and is all business in his approach.

Brown was so excited about McCaffrey, that when asked about Brandon Peters, he just continued to talk about Dylan McCaffrey....

Our future with Peters, McCaffrey, Milton and Doyle looks extremely bright at the QB position. Brighter than it's been in a long time.

People will undoubtedly take this and run with it, ignoring he's running the SCOUT team and is not actually getting reps in Michigan's offense. Then if he doesn't win the job right away, they'll say "he's been in the program X years and isn't starting, he must be a bust!" Also, Hello Chris Balas.

they bet the farm on Wilton taking the next step by giving him most of the 1st team reps in fall camp, but his game progress was not great and then cut short by injury. O'Korn was taking back-up reps, so he was the most ready to step in. However, with real game situations John just could not handle the rush pressure effectively as a pocket QB. If you can't do that in a Harbaugh offense, you can't move the team as the starting QB. Peters earned his shot via showing that skill in the back-up role running the 1st team during practice, but only after Wilton went down. McCaffery isn't anywhere near the 1st team game prep as he is playing scout team QB. All of this high praise on Dylan is coming from the defensive coaches which is exactly how O'Korn got all his hype built up going into the 2016 fall camp. Which of course meant absolutely nothing when it came time to run the Harbaugh offense. Clearly, there is a QB type that fits and I think they may have found their man in Peters for the next two years. Dylan will get his chance to develop into that guy via the backup role and then become the starter after Peters moves on (or step in if Peters gets injured).

As our scout team is suppose to mimic our opposition it seems approprate our scout QB would play great. Opposing QBs seem to have great games against us.

In the offseaskn, I guess I didn’t think that there’s a chance the RS freshman McCaffrrey wins it as a dark horse. There’s enough rumblings out there to make me think it’ll be a 3 horse race next spring

If Peter's or McCaffrey win the job does Speight grad transfer and how serious were his shoulder and now broken vertebrae?  Does he just live out his time as assistant QB coach and backup?  Or will he be healthy and good enough to demand a starting job elsewhere and consider grad transferring.

I don't know him and his family enough to know the answer.  I wish him the best but I feel bad for his career progression thus far.  Injuries suck.

I want Wilton Speight to stay if we'll have him. At the very least, he can be a mentor and help coach the other QBs. All I know is that he's a tough son of a bitch and deserves consideration... can't count that guy out.

Our defensive line is going to be beastly for many years to come. I am so excited bc when you look at the recent national champions, all of them had big, athletic, talented, and deep defensive lines. Harbaugh and staff have done a really nice job recruiting the trenches on the defensive side of the ball.

Pep said "Peters is a work in progress"

So what was O'Korn or Speight?

SSS but Peters played pretty dang good in his first real playing time.

Unsolicited comments about McCaffery. Hmmmmm.....

DM is up to 199 lbs. He arrived at 174. Give the strength staff and DM credit for that. He is ready to compete.

No, it isn't FL, TX, GA, CA or even OH It's also not one of the Dakotas either. If a player is named the greatest high school qb in the history of a state, he's got to be one hell of a baller and in his case I can only see him getting better. Any scout team qb able to give the D the exact look of this week's opposition is rare, and I think Don said as much. He's doing an imitation of a D!, P5 qb already.

His lineage says he'll get bigger, faster, stronger. I'll go so far as to say we'll be able to implement a viable RPO with Dylan on the edges and it'll be one the D has to honor. This, seriously, is very good news. And you are right, DB is one hell of an interview.

Dean of Dudes, as our defensive coordinator.  Very thankful we have him, and can't imagine many not wanting to play for him.  Sounds like Dylan McCaffrey is having a very productive freshman year on the scout team.  Bodes well.  Thanks for posting Night_King.  It was fun watching.
