At some point playing iowa is gonna be akin to what our 1’s face in practice every week.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:42 PM ^
Damnit. I don’t want this.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:45 PM ^
I actually just went to the ER for something like this... can laugh now
January 4th, 2023 at 9:58 PM ^
That’s gotta be a great story
January 4th, 2023 at 10:58 PM ^
It sounds like a story I probably wouldn't tell in public.
January 4th, 2023 at 10:59 PM ^
Great? How about great balls of fire?!
January 4th, 2023 at 10:21 PM ^
Un pelota en los pelotas?
Aye dios mio

I can tell you you don't know pain until you've had a testicle sewed to your scrotum.
January 4th, 2023 at 11:52 PM ^
My kid kicked me just right in the testicles the night of the MSU game hard enough that I ended up in the ER because ol rightie swelled to twice the size of leftie and they were worried I'd lose it... nice to celebrate the Michigan win later at least...
January 5th, 2023 at 7:17 AM ^
Wow. Too bad he wasn't in the tunnel after the game. He could've done some damage to those Gutless & White slugs.
January 5th, 2023 at 9:02 AM ^
Pictures or it didn't happen.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:43 PM ^
I don’t want this but something hasn’t felt right all year. I don’t really feel surprised at all.
January 5th, 2023 at 1:54 AM ^
He never got stronger. His big issue last year, outside of the MSU game, is that he would get bullied when corners came up and pressed him. Ok, he was a skinny freshman, makes sense, you expect him to hit the weight room over the offseason, get stronger and that problem would improve. But it just didn't happen. He was still getting bullied this year, he had trouble getting off jams, he would get bullied off his routes. It gave me flashbacks to Roundtree getting destroyed by one of Bama's corners when we played them in the 2012 opener (on one memorable play, he got shoved about five yards out of bounds as he was trying to run a route down the sideline).
This makes me sad because I thought Andrel had a ton of upside, but if he can't put on the weight and increase the strength to be able to fight through pressing there's a hard cap on his usefulness...
January 5th, 2023 at 7:22 AM ^
Seth's comp: Roy Roundtree sure enough
January 4th, 2023 at 9:43 PM ^
We'll always have that day in East Lansing. Best of luck.
January 4th, 2023 at 11:37 PM ^
If you zoom in, it looks like an 8 bit video game as he runs down the field.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
This either means Cornelius Johnson is coming back or Anthony is not convinced he can stay in front of Clemons and Walker. Wilson is locked in at one starting spot.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:53 PM ^
Yeah, even if CoJo doesn't come back, it seemed likely that Clemons and Walker would push Anthony given the lack of impact this year.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:54 PM ^
His stats went way down this year. Don't know the story why. But there's probably more than Johnson and Wilson ahead of him.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:57 PM ^
In the 2021 MSU game, he had six catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Other than that he caught six passes the rest of the season.
January 4th, 2023 at 11:01 PM ^
Yeah, seemed like the entire year I was saying "the next game Andrel will be huge". Then the next game happened. Nothing. Next game. Nothing. And so on.
January 4th, 2023 at 10:16 PM ^
He was absolutely non existent this year. Not a hater, I wish him well. We will be fine.
January 4th, 2023 at 10:39 PM ^
He dropped a big potential TD against IL in the freezing cold. I kept waiting for him to emerge as the dude we saw flashes of against MSU in 2021. I guess I can stop waiting now. All the best to him. He has two B1G rings
January 5th, 2023 at 12:02 AM ^
In his defense…this wasn’t exactly a high powered pass offense once big ten season hit.
January 4th, 2023 at 10:39 PM ^
UM will never recover from the loss of the 7 receptions. Never.
January 5th, 2023 at 6:58 AM ^
7 receptions makes up about 20% of Harbaughs passing offense /s
January 5th, 2023 at 7:03 AM ^
Uh...Ronnie Bell.
I don't know why people keep overlooking the fact that Bell was injured all of last year and came back this year and was the #1 WR.
That means less for CJ, Wilson, and Anthony.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:59 AM ^
I know Clemons and Walker have a lot of promise, but why does everyone skip over Tyler Morris? He's the only freshman WR that got on the field against OSU and TCU, and he's been getting steady playing time all year. Not a lot, but more than the others, who only saw situational plays in garbage time.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
On the plus side, I'm guessing this means Wilson and Johnson return.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
Wish him luck, just couldn’t seem to put it together fully this year. I hope he doesn’t go to MSU.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
It sucks, but I really do wish him the best. He had a really solid seemingly breakout game in 2021 vs MSU and then completely fell off the radar and was a non-factor all of 2022. Hope he changes that wherever he ends up next.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
So basically we have Roman Wilson coming back as anyone proven at wide receiver.
January 4th, 2023 at 10:40 PM ^
We throw 11 times a game against 80% of our opponents so dont worry. We are just resting them up for the playoff game.
January 5th, 2023 at 12:04 AM ^
Yeah, if you’re a talented receiver, you’re just not going to get much exposure in a Harbaugh run offense.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:45 PM ^
Good luck Mister Anthony
The young cats can hopefully step up at receiver next year. Darius Clemons seems like he can be a true #1 receiver
January 4th, 2023 at 10:40 PM ^
He showed out this year!!
Oh wait.
Is this based on crootin starz?
January 5th, 2023 at 7:04 AM ^
He was a 3 star...you know this Mr. Swim Lane.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:46 PM ^
As he should....he is a WR and not a blocker. Should go where WRs first job is catching and running routes
January 4th, 2023 at 10:04 PM ^
I did see a ball go right through his hands on a 4th down play. So catching could use some work too.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:46 PM ^
not a total surprise
the State game was great
January 4th, 2023 at 9:48 PM ^
I’m not that surprised honestly. Outside of one memorable game (2021 MSU) he never panned out. People kept begging for him to get more targets but he couldn’t catch the ones he did get. It was getting late early for him.
January 5th, 2023 at 7:07 AM ^
How many were catchable?
I vividly remember 2 that he should've easily caught (and didn't).
I also remember a great catch against Iowa that no one has brought up.
The narratives we create are incredible.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:49 PM ^
Hard to say what we had with him, since he never really did anything outside that MSU game. It’ll be really interesting to see where he goes and how he does. Was the MSU game an anomaly or preview of what’s to come?
January 4th, 2023 at 9:52 PM ^
The Hunter Dickinson/Maryland effect*
January 4th, 2023 at 10:23 PM ^
He had 19 catches for 328 yards and 4 tds in two years of playing. He had 7 receptions this year. I don’t think it’s really a big deal. We just had hope he was a baller and could be that stud we need at WR. I would kill for Jason Avant and Steve Breaston on this team. Yes I know I could have picked a technically more talented duo but even something like these guys would be a massive upgrade to our passing game,
January 4th, 2023 at 9:50 PM ^
no shocker there.
January 4th, 2023 at 9:50 PM ^
Anthony with a burst!!! Bummer, but hope it works out better the next stop #1
January 4th, 2023 at 9:50 PM ^
No surprise there
January 4th, 2023 at 9:50 PM ^
Bummer, but kid had to do what is right for him. I wish him the best.
