AKGOBLUE97 died this morning

Submitted by lmgoblue1 on

He died in his tree stand hunting in Ohio.  He was my best friend.  He was what you all call a Walmart Wolverine.  He was my quarterback in High School. I played Center.  The only man I ever let have hands near my butt. I went to my first game in 1969, we became friends in 1972. That's when he went to his first Michigan game with me and my parents.  He became a Wolverine on that day.  He went to CMU for college, I went to Michgian.  He never graduated from college, opting to work in a factory instead.  He had two beautiful children and I joined the Navy after graduation.  He was with me at the Rose Bowl in 1989 when we won. and in 1990 when we lost in Bo's last game. He was the epitomy of a "Michigan Man" despite the fact that he married a fricking buckeye. He lived Michigan, his life's joy and sorrows were about Michigan.  His children, adults now, are pure Michigan.

Tonight I do not have my friend and brother to talk to about the game. My text is empty, the void you cannot imagine.

We are All Wolverines. Be nice to your Brothers and Sisters, my friends. I am bleeding from my heart tonight, but it is Blue Blood.   We all will be alright, and the future, the future looks great with Jim.at the helm.

Go Blue my Brothers. Rejoice in your common bond. It's Great to Be a Michigan Wolverine.

He sounded like a true Michigan Man. My condolences. Forever, Go Blue. I made this post a long time ago, believing I myself was a Wal-Mart wolverine. There's no such thing. If you ever get a chance, check out the amazing responses from the posters here. Your friend belongs in the collective brotherhood as much as anyone. God bless. http://mgoblog.com/diaries/definition-wal-mart-wolverine

Condolences to you and your friend's family.  There is no term Walmart Wolverine.  In fact, the last time I went in that store, there were more shoppers wearing Sparty t-shirts than Michigan t-shirts.

Very sorry for your loss. RIP to your friend. He picked an awesome first day to be in heaven though! Hopefully he is up there rejoicing over this Michigan win and ohio state loss with Bo, Yost, and Ufer! Forever Go Blue from myself and the rest of the Michigan family.

Sad to see one of the mgobloggers pass. I always wonder about posters I use to see active like 5 to 10 years ago but they never post any longer. I'm sure some have just moved on and don't have the time to blog but probably some have passed away. May be mgoblog should have a necrology section.
