Aidan Chiles officially transferring to MSU

No surprise here, but it is now official.  I really don't understand how he is ranked as the #1 transfer QB by some, but he is a big get regardless. Played well in garbage time as a freshman. Was #152 overall, #12 QB in the 2023 247 composite. #58 overall in 247's non-composite rankings.

We'll see how he pans out, but a QB whose only major offers seemed to be Oregon, UW, Wazzu, KState, and Oregon State and then ended up at Oregon State is very unlikely to actually be a top QB prospect. Offers always say more than recruiting services

Advice to the youngster -

Get yourself a fire retardant couch and/or lots of fire extinguishers.

When Michigan beats the fuck out of you, Sparty nuts will burn your couch while you're sleeping on it.

If you manage to beat Michigan, Sparty nuts will burn your couch while you're sleeping on it.

Did you watch him play?  He came in on the 3rd drive of every game, in competitive situations.

Those numbers came against first team defenses at full go.

Chiles may be a 3 in 3.   Meaning on 3 teams in 3 years thanks to the transfer portal.

After he finds out that following his coach to a team with no offensive line and nobody to throw to is going to get him killed he’ll be back in the portal 12 months from now.

As an upperclassman, I think he'll be a problem. Probably a lot of growing pains this next season with their OL and as Smith overturns some of the roster.

But Smith is a good coach and Chiles should be a good Qb IMO. Very big transfer for them.
