2024 5* QB Jadyn Davis announcing decision on March 31st
This source is a local Charlotte sports reporter so I think he’s credible.
If all goes well, it should be Michigan as Sam Webb gave his gut feeling on the MGoRoundTable today
Yeah, that's one. Was a reaction to Bo Nix returning vs an NIL thing though. Hopefully Jadyn will be cool with JJ returning
Largely because the Oregon OC took another job and Bo Nix returned. So… coaching change.
The 2024 #1 QB Dylan Raiola decommitted from Ohio State.
Obviously we'll have to keep him committed like any other player, but once we get him in the fold, hopefully Goodwin and Shipp follow soon after, and we can build the class around Davis. Davis also hasn't shown interest in any other school to the level he has Michigan
1. UNC, due to proximity.
2. He hasn't shown any indication that he would be wishy washy. Why would he be more likely to decommit than any other commit?
Yes his commitment changes things, because the vast majority of kids stick to their commitment.
Bonus: What high profile QBs have decommited due to NIL? Jaden Rashada, Maybe Dante Moore. Who else? Is it really that common?

I was legitimately asking questions, not making assumptions. If people who follow it more closely than me say it's probably a firm commitment, then I'll be excited. With top tier QBs, my worry would be that a school with an NIL cannon steps in late bc they missed out on their first option or something. I just expect the worst, lol.

Concerns are warranted. BPONE is still in the back of our minds. But, listening to Jadyn and his father’s interviews, both them and that family are high class characters. There’s a lot more than just NIL deals for them. Personally, I gathered that they’re super strong about family. Right now, no one exudes family/brotherhood than Michigan. The way they talk, they have high integrity, so once he chooses a team I think they will be ride or die, and that presumption is that Maize and Blue team. If he commits, buckle up!
I think his continual dragging out the commitment process could lead one to conclude he's wishy-washy and lead to concern about how committed he actually will be.
Lol, this would lead one to conclude that he's making sure he's ready to commit rather than jumping the gun until he was ready to satisy a bunch of message board handles. The literal opposite of wishy washy.

Uh, waiting this long to make a commitment world be the opposite of wishy washy.
Seems clear he is taking his time to know he makes the correct decision that he is going to stick to
1. He's apparently visited Tennessee like 8 or 9 times, but considering there's like 0 buzz around them, I think we're safe there
2. Considering the fact the recruitment is not all about the $$$, it's very unlikely there will be a coaching change any time soon, the fact that he's already recruiting for Michigan, and his demeanor, if he commits he will be a leader for the class day one through signing day.
Sam was saying this morning that we should basically feel very god about Jadyn.
Jadyn = god?
I think the last time I felt god about a recruit was… Jabrill Peppers.

And he didn’t even take the Heisman.
Amen!
next domino to fall
We have to wait 8 days?!?!
By the way, is it 5PM Easter, Central, Mountain or Pacific? I do not want to miss it.
...5 PM April 9th? naw
If you zoom in on his wristbands there is only 1 school represented.
that's A+ sleuthing
ENHANCE

MGoColumbo--excellent work on this.

You magnificent son of a bitch.
+1 * infinity
+1 for the informative thread title and post.
Clearly, he is a drama queen. Time to look elsewhere. This is bs.

You are referring to yourself here, right?
I want Jadyn Davis, but have you seen Bryce Underwood play? He is dynamic. Would Michigan back off if Davis commits?
That’s what I worry about. There’s no way we get both. You’d basically be convincing Underwood to sit at least 2 years behind jadyn unless he straight up beats him. If they were in the same class I’d go all in on underwood. That kid is gonna be special
I think Underwood could be out Davis, unless he's pretty raw and needs some serious coaching/development. Davis reminds me of Justin Fields without the speed. Underwood has that freakish ability.
March 23rd, 2023 at 10:16 PM ^
This was the downside of not landing Moore in 23. There would’ve been two classes between them and he’d be more likely to come here. I’m ok with Davis for sure but you’d like to get both.

UM isn't going to and in no way should make a decision on a QB in this class to *maybe* land Underwood in the future.
March 23rd, 2023 at 11:08 PM ^
Missing out on a QB last year, UM needs someone ASAP for momentum. They need to take anyone that they can get. They must take Davis and it’s not even like a consolation prize. The kid is legit. A lot of the analyst say it’s possible to pickup both. Unlucky, but possible. Look at OSU with McCord, Burrows, Fields etc,. It can be done. Reel in both and let the best man win. Campbell is becoming a polarizing figure in terms of recruiting and that’s saying something given who UM has as recruiters already.
We need Davis this year and it is only really a problem if Underwood doesn't want to compete. We will pursue elite options every year we can.
Yippee

All 5 of his Top 5 will be Michigan.
Just announce it already. 🙄

Kid has been committed since summer. Yes it was a silent but this whole prolonging it has been funny
It doesn’t mean Davis isn’t a good kid, but I appreciate the players who don’t feel the need to go through the song and dance of naming top 10s, top 5s and then the final “which hat is he going to put on” ceremony.
March 24th, 2023 at 10:06 AM ^
I bet you're real fun at hat putting-on parties.
If you want to land two premiere QB's in back to back classes you have to put QB's in the league every couple years and have them have success or drop the bags. Harbaugh hasn't done that yet but I think we are on our way there. Then you can stack QB's class after class. If there is one area I think that has handicapped Harbaugh more then any other its QB recruiting and bringing in top end talent and developing them yourself. I see the benefits of portaling at the position its a great stop gap option however the long term effects on recruiting are better bringing in top level guys and putting them in the league after three of four years. Its been a walk in the dessert but there are several things about where the program sits today that get me excited. That is a big one! Credit To James Joseph for being a leader and understanding the whole sale changes needed to get it where he envisioned the day he was hired. We are getting close!
Feels like Terrelle Pryor all over again
Except for the fact that Pryor was never EXPECTED to go to UM (I don't remember if there were Ballz back then). We just hoped that he would choose UM.
March 24th, 2023 at 10:07 AM ^
And that Terrelle Pryor was a total asshole, and Jadyn Davis seems like a high quality kid.
March 24th, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
iirc RichRod was going to his high school and it was basically 50/50 between us and OSU
