17-17 UM v. Wisconsin Tie! Sore Loser Edition

Submitted by RedRum on

Dear University of Michigan Athletic Department.

You have embarrassed ME for the last time. I'm tired of being disappointed by the efforts of countless coaches and 18-22 year olds of which i have contributed nothing.  My ego and hurt butt will not abide another infliction to my tertiary hobby of spectating amateur sports.

Blame the refs portion of my bitterness: Clear block in the back on the first Wisconsin touchdown, clear touchdown by DPJ. In the end, however, Wisconsin wore our defense down and knocked our offensive weapons off center.  (Gentry could have come down with a couple of those catches, but again, see the snarky paragraph above).

We are likely to go 8-4 for this season. I'm sad about it - but we are rebuilding.  Anyone who questions Harbaugh is, and I know I'm being preemptive with comments, an impatient idiot.

Couple of questions for the board:

Is it wrong to yell at the TV for DPJ to run forward on punt returns.  He does more dancing than MC Hammer on “Cant touch this?”

Gentry dropped some passes. Can’t we put Bunting in the game?

Why wasn’t Perry target more?

Clean hit on Peters, but why was he savaged 3 times before the knock out? Even if our line is terrible and collapses, at least we  can get a lineman to slow the collision right?

Lastly, This loss hurts. We had them in a good corner up three in the third quarter.  I see UM turning a corner soon, but the loss hurts none-the less. Go Blue!!

Impede Trolls! Go Blue! Impede Trolls! Stop Butt Hurt! Recognize 2017 as a rebuilding year! Go Blue! Support your team! This isn’t about you! This is a hobby for us! Love you guys! Go Blue! I had too much wine during the game! Go Blue!

You have the brain of a Monkey. What superior talent are we under utilizing? Our offense is missing Darboh, JC, Butt, etc.  Black going down really hurt us. Tell us who would take the job and do better.

Here is an opinion. If Nick Saban came to Michigan, he would be hit with so many recruiting and other NCAA violation that he would be criminally charged. Michigan has a higher standard, and we pay the price for being in front of that. This makes me keep the faith in this special place.

Please stop with everyone but Michigan cheats and that is why we're not elite. We've had top 10 recruiting classes the last couple of years and had more players drafted last year than any other school. The talent is on the roster to win, but they are young.

There was no block in the back on the first Wisconsin TD--blocks in the back are allowed when the punt is a loose ball, and the returner hadn't picked it up when the block occurred.

In fact, the NCAA rules even say WHEN THE BALL IS LOOSE.

ARTICLE 7. When Ball is Loose

When the ball is loose, no player shall hold an opponent; illegally block an opponent in the back; twist, turn or pull an opponent’s face mask or any helmet opening; or illegally use his hands or commit a personal foul. (A.R. 7-3-9:I)

You're right, cant question Harbaugh's knowledge and experience. Harbaugh isn't the problem. It's the wizard's staff that is broken. Haha, get it?

Do people agree that it was a clean hit on Peters???  I thought it was one of the dirtiest plays I've seen in a while.  Clear intent to drive his shoulder in the ground with the weight of both players followed by grinding his broken collar bone into the ground for about two full seconds.  Obviously the defender didn't know it was broken by then but there was clear intent to injur.  I was disgusted, but do people really think that was just an ordinary football play?

...is that watching other teams play on tv makes it pretty obvious that there are so many teams that appear to be better than UM. Like, way better. Caveats apply. But from what you might see on tv... there's no way this is a team that should even sniff the top 25.

We haven't beat a team with winning record. We're going to be 1-5 vs rivals. This not being able to win a game that matters does have something to do with coaching. Losing 3 in a row to end season very possible and this is all excepted because Harbaugh is anointed a king. Finebaummmight be right

Hurst and Gary have been penalized for far less. That being said, the RB's better work on blitz pickup as their #1 priority this off season.
