OT - Reddit CFB Risk Update 5/23 - OSU on the ropes
Last night was a great night for us. Including those bordered by allies, we are now up to 8(!) buffered territories impervious to attack this round. We even somehow managed to take Columbus. Meanwhile, OSU is doing... something. Us and our allies have them reeling as they are down to a mere 3 territories.
Please click the link below to get your assignments for the day.
Announcements:
The "Blue Alliance" has been re-dubbed the "Allied Forces" and now consists of Michigan, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Texas. Please refrain from attacking any territories controlled by our allies.
If you are a relatively new reddit user, please check the game page to ensure that you are not being flagged as a bot. If you are flagged you will see a text box like the one below. If you are flagged as a bot, your turns will not assist our chances to win (although you can still accumulate turns so you can level up stars). If you see this box, then follow the hyperlink to fill out the survey, but ALSO message /u/bakonydraco directly on reddit to get the issue sorted out.
Instructions to Join:
To join all you need to do is go to reddit.com/r/cfb and create an account if you don't already have one. Next, set your flair to Michigan. You can do this by clicking "Select Flair" on the right side of the cfb subreddit. Finally, you can join and play the game at https://vote.redditcfb.com/cfbrisk.php.
If you want to discuss the game in deeper detail and strategize with us, you can join our discord server found here: https://discord.gg/TcZBTcj. We usually announce plans of what we want to attack/defend in the evenings, but we discuss strategy all day. Be warned though, there will be a vetting process to join the discord as we have had some mole issues from OSU. Even if you don’t pass the vetting process, we can still provide less-secret instructions in the general chat so that you can still help us towards our goals until we can fully 100% trust you.
Go Blue!
Instructions as to how to play:
At the beginning of the game. Every team was assigned one single territory, and so every territory is now named after that team. When you go to select an action in the game, you'll see option such as:
"Defend Buffalo", "Attack Penn State", "Attack Kent State".
This means that we border the location that was originally assigned to Penn State and Kent State. If you choose to attack Penn State, you will attempt to take that piece of land next round. Defend Buffalo, means that we currently own Buffalo's original homeland, and defending Buffalo means putting your stars towards keeping Buffalo from being taken.
After you submit what you're doing for the day, just sit back at wait! At Midnight EST all of the picks from all of the teams go in, and a random number generator selects a winner for each territory. Then it all happens again tomorrow.

Here's today's map:
17 turns. I'm working on my karma to get my star rating.
I have no idea what in the hell is going on but I am following your exploits daily and truly hope our team somehow manages to emerge victorious in this epic battle.
C'mon now, MGrow. Are you saying this daily post stimulates you more than the myriad of useless preseason rankings and the smattering of recruiting tidbits? ;)
For the record, I look forward to this as well. I would join if I had time. But alas, I have 4 children and just bought a house. I won't see free time for many years.
It takes 5-10 minutes to sign up and figure out how it works. It then takes 30 seconds everyday after.
If thats still seems to great a task I wont fault you.
You still can join! It only takes about 1 minute per day, literally.
All you have to do is click on the link to get an assignment, then navigate to the CFB risk game page and press the button corresponding to that assignment. That's it, done.
I think it can function as both a noun and an adjective, but is primarily considered a noun. Most dictionaries and dictionary websites list it first as a noun
Once you sign up, participating takes less time than posting this comment on mgoblog :)
Me at 12:30.
LOL I have that video saved from when it was posted. He's jamming to "Atomic Dog" Bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yey.

But I like you
But be done with OSU at long last. I'm sick of hearing how close they are to death. Behead them. Do it now.
for the purpose of this game, will the "Allied Forces" eventually turn on each other if they dominate the map/game?
I was wondering the same thing... what happens after OSU is destroyed?
After a team loses all of their territories they join "Team Chaos"
The game admins haven't told us. We THINK that Team Chaos is just dead forever and that concept is just removed from the game.
Or they spawn from the next dead team.
edit: Right smack dab in the middle of UM territory.
They started as Alaska, and I think some of the mods started on the team. After the first day the number of schools on the board was more than cut in half (a lot of G5 schools were absorbed immediately), so chaos always had agents after that.
Team Chaos and particularly adding players from schools that were knocked out into Team Chaos was a poorly thought out concept. So, when we knock out OSU, they get added into Team Chaos and we have to continue to fend them off.
Nebraska, Chaos, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Stanford, and Wisconsin are all enemies in the opposing alliance.
But wouldn't a rouge state be a natural member of the Red Alliance??
I guess burnt orange doesn't blend with the Evil Axis' whole red motif.
He said Texas A&M.
Clemson is going to have to leave the alliance soon because they aren't going to have anyone left to attack.
It makes sense to have them slowly work west on one line, even if we have to lose a territory or two to do it.
I posted my Discord username at the bottom of the last thread, so just in case that got overlooked: Molesyn is my Discord username. I submit myself to the vetting!
was Tom? At least that's what Earl thought.
I somehow got myself up to a three star, so I hope I can continue to be useful.
I'm still climbing Mt. Karma. Only about 200 points to go!
It wasn't Mount Karma, it is over 2500 days on the board without really ever posting, but it counts for a 5 star along with furious link clicking.
Cackled with glee when I saw today's map, too.
where to select flair. When I click add user flair on the right it just says no flair selected...
Make sure you're using this url: old.reddit.com/r/cfb
New reddit is the worst.
You have to go thru the tables at the bottom. Select division 1 then B1G then Michigan
logo that has half of Michigan?
Team Chaos. Elimnated teams can choose to play for them or play for the team controlling your home territory.
logo. It's cool!
