These are great, I love that Brian basically represents everyone who checked out last season and is wondering who half the depth chart is and how they are going to be better much less good. Me, in other words. It keeps things grounded while Seth genuinely gets me excited for football again.
Surprised no one has mentioned the 3DS (also available as the 2DS). It's a Nintendo system that is relatively cheap, will be supported at least through the end of the year, and has a deep library of family friendly games. You still can't find the Switch for sale most places and its library consists of a handful of games. Also, this could be me but I would have a hard time trusting my eight year old with a $400 portable. 3DS or 2DS is under $200, and the games are cheaper as well.
I don't really like recognizable players switching numbers during their senior years like we've had, but what about a one off? Homecoming is already all about reminding people of the past and I think it could be a cool tradition.
If you look to page 61 of the The Michigensian you mention (LINK) you will see that Ralph Moross Roosevelt and William Franklin Temple were both students in the Engineering department in the 1902 class and members of the football team. Why they bear particular mention is unknown, perhaps they were official team representatives?
Also, Teddy Roosevelt is only known to have visited Ann Arbor/ the University three times (LINK), with this not being one of them.
Even after last week, I was sure Michigan would struggle to 8 or 9 wins and the coaches would get another year no matter what we thought. Now, with a negative rushing game at home against a middling Nebraska D? With players that look like they are going through the motions? With the crowd booing our team? With no clear wins left?
Hoke must make staff changes at the end of this year or ride and die with them next.
Hoke is loyal to his guys and will not make hasty decisions to placate the fanbase. Youth and inexperience are big factors here and they will be used to prevent any staff changes this year. If there is no improvement next year then you will probably see both Funk and Borges gone.
As for the rest of the year, I think Michigan will still win 2-3 more games. Nebraska and Northwestern seem very winnable still, as does Iowa. Nebraska's defense is terrible and their offense has issues with Martinez injured. Northwestern is in a tailspin. Iowa is Iowa but it is an away game in a hostile atmosphere, so that makes it a toss up. Ohio State is the most complete team we will face outside of Michigan State and we will lose.
8-4 or 9-3 is what I kinda expected over the summer before people started hyping Gardner and saying the offensive line would be better than last year. This is still a young team and may surprise us all next year.
Leach does seem a little harsh this season, but his team is a massive disappointment and he was never the friendliest. I'm gonna chalk this up to a tough transition to an authoritarian coach unless some other evidence is brought forward.
Rugby players are, in my opinion, better overall atheletes. Everyone can run and hit and do it for long periods with no breaks. In football, you have guys who are stronger or faster but not often both and lack endurance.
There was an interception called for SC when it was clearly simultaneous possession and should have been vandy ball. They reviewed it and confirmed the call on the field. Drove my vandy fiancee mad.
First it was the rumor that Craig James killed 5 hookers at SMU, now it's 11? Let's put these heinous rumors to bed, like the bed Craig James is said to have used prior to killing 5 hookers at SMU. That did not happen and Craig James is totally innocent of killing 5 hookers while at SMU.
"It's not possible for Michigan to earn "revenge" against the Mountaineers. The former is one of the most storied programs in college football history. The latter is an FCS program (a good one, mind) that, if they're lucky, might land in Conference USA the next few seasons. 30 Michigan wins can't equal the impact of one of Appalachian State's, much less the single one they'll likely earn in 2012. To suggest the Wolverines can "even the score" with Appalachian State is to also suggest the two programs are somehow equals, peers."
where the Red Wings demolish a pee wee team and go on to celebrate to We Are the Champions. Except that the pee wee team actually beat the Red Wings 7 years ago and everyone will be constantly reminded of this fact.
but it probably will not kill you. As people reference below, muslims not at Fordson go through two-a-days with no food or water regularly. Heck, last year Husain Abdullah became a starter for the Vikings after fasting through training camp!
but didn't Yost build Yost Fieldhouse as AD and Crisler build Crisler arena as AD? These guys may have started as football coaches, but their legacies as Athletic Director deserve to be comemorated as well.

Thanks for everything Brian. Good luck and best wishes on whatever may be next.
let's have a real good time
Appreciate the effort but I already voted.
Ready to stop shitposting and start the real fight.
to the poster that hangs up in the sweatshop where these are made.
I'm still climbing Mt. Karma. Only about 200 points to go!
I'd be happy to upvote you there if you want to post your username.
Yeah, it's like mgopoints. Just comment on reddit.com/cfb and you should get to two star status in a couple days.
Thanks! It's the same as on here: virgilthechicken
Nice work!
Trying to get up to 3 star staus, but the karma climb required is very challenging.

We're still up 4 and have a efficient, low turnover offense. Trust this team and the coaches.
That was the kind of article about Michigan football I have not read for a while. Informed, concise, and without needless drama.

Win out except for Ohio State.
but if UConn is so great why are you guys in the AAC? Why did the Big Ten and ACC pass you over?

Someone may already have this, but I'm at work and can't go through 6 pages of comments.
we're not going to lose by double digits.

an option play
Can they join the field goal party?
This may be the worst game of the year for me, and I watched Louiseville take on Kentucky.
You would think they would want to avoid media fallout from transfers, like what happened after the Aaron Douglas affair.
no

Michigan 49
EMU 6
But I'm marking the time, just in case we have to fill out a death report for the Big 12ish

Again, not saying it is easy (I'm not sure I could sit at a desk all day without something) but it is something that can be worked through.
at http://touchthebanner.blogspot.com/2011/01/eligibility-count-for-2011.html, we are currently at 24 for next year (75 players currently on scholorship and 14 player with only this year of eligibility remaining).
Someone correct me if I am not understanding this correctly.
and stadium collapse.
/s
Let me elaborate on the /s
1. I don't really want a stadium collapse.
2. I know games can no longer end in a tie, but I think they would make an exception if the stadium collapsed.
3. I don't really care who wins.
Don't forget about the the one, the only, the truly incomparable Leland Stanford, Junior University Marching Band!

This eases my pain.
Then I realized that I agreed with him and knew it couldn't be an OSU fan calling in to a radio show.
I wanted to read about the perpetually hot seat of Ron Zook.

You know what I mean.
