That is something to celebrate! The refs love to hand national championships to Duke, they cannot do it this year!
Anyone have thoughts on if we’re better suited to play Kansas or Nova?

He didn't just miss, he purposely kept the ball and forced up a tough shot trying to be the hero. His hubris was on full display during that final play in regulation.
Grayson Allen is an abomination. And Michigan can take any team, any time. Go blue!
That is the difference between these two teams. MAAR is about Michigan. Allen is about Allen. That is the Michigan difference.
Maybe so, but the open guys he ignored had better shots.
I’m not sure MAAR could have gotten a shot off at all. He was trapped a good 45 feet from the basket.
Eh, this comparison is forced.
MAAR did take what seemed like our last shot in the Houston game, dribbling it under 10 seconds and then driving (and missing).
On the last-second play, he drew a double-team at midcourt and could never have gotten off a plausible shot. If he'd had any kind of legitimate look at the basket, he'd have probably taken it, like he did against Maryland. Which is fine - someone's got to shoot it and it may as well be your leader.
There was nothing wrong with Allen's shots. The one at the end of regulation was halfway down and then rimmed out - tough luck.
That is the play I was referring too. IIRC, he had drawn 4 defenders. You have to be humble enough to let someone else make a play.
Plus Grayson was like 2-10 from the field.

That final shot in regulation was not great. He's fading away and trying to bank it off the board over two defenders, which wouldn't bother me all that much except he held onto the ball for what, 8 seconds prior rather than pass off and try to come off a pick for a cleaner look?
Look, the shot falls, and he joins the pantheon of Duke heros like Laettner and Reddick. The problem is, I actually believe this fact was a consideration in his mind when he was driving to the hoop at the end. The kid definitely seems to be in love with the idea of being a Duke legend.
He had a choice, he could of jacked up a 35 footer once he crossed half court. It happens a lot. I believe even Poole thought MAAR was going to shoot it.
According to Beilein, we run that play regularly in practice. No way does Beilein want MAAR shooting a halfcourt heave against a double-team. If he's doubled, he passes it out to one of the two options on the wing.
35 footer? Halfcourt is 47 feet from the basket. Here's the play:

I had them picked also, as much as i hate them. I had Michigan beating Duke in the finals..

Bye Duke.
Damn shame that he got tripped up in his final collegiate game.
Or coolers in Columbus.
How much do you know about Duke? Because the whole "aw shucks" Coach K thing... Biggest myth in college sports.
