LAX @ UMBC 3pm
Beat me to it!
Here's the preview I was writing up:
Wow! For those who didn't see that Michigan beat Notre Dame Wednesday, this team now has a chance to do something big this year in a relatively weak Big Ten in comparison to years past. The bracketologies of lacrosse even have Michigan in as the #9 team in their way-too-early predictions. Even though that may be a stretch for a team that went 6-8 last year, those dreams shouldn't get de-railed today.
UMBC comes into today's game at 2-5 while Michigan is 6-2. Although, UMBC only has wins over Richmond and Marist, they played Navy, Towson, and Stony Brook close in low-scoring affairs.
Here is the live stream.
Here is a recap of the Notre Dame game from Inside Lacrosse.
In other games:
#9 Johns Hopkins beat #10 Virginia,15-13, which helps the Big Ten's RPI.
#16 Penn lost to Cornell, 20-13, which hurts Michigan's RPI.
#3 Duke and #15 Syracuse are playing on ESPNU right now. Syracuse leads 11-10
#2 Maryland plays #20 North Carolina at 10:00 PM tonight
Joe Robertson of Duke just tied the game at 14. With 2:11 left, it's gonna be a great finish!
Syracuse got the game winner, which keeps their tournament hopes alive with a 4-3 record.
Inside Lacrosse has Detroit as the winner, 9-8.
#2 Maryland?
There is something that Maryland is good at ?
Haha yup! But not better than Albany!
It must make them cringe from an academic standpoint to be in the same conference as Ohio State.
Michigan has an early 2-1 lead after one quarter
Make those Retrievers chase!
(Two weeks ago, nobody would even know what this meant.)
The weird thing is this UMBC lacrosse team is trying to win the game the same way the basketball team did. They've played in a lot of low-scoring games and today is no different. However, they're 2-3 in their close low-scoring games.
You may want to clarify the header as "Lacrosse" and not the abbreviation of the Los Angeles airport...
I thought this had something do to with LAX airport, given tonight's basketball game.
and you should get used to it. UM is building a powerhouse.
Did you think the airport had moved to Baltimore County at 3 pm?
And Michigan beats the buzzer to make it a 5-2 lead at the half!
UMBC gets their 4th goal, but Michigan answers right back to get goal #7. 7-4 Michigan lead with 5 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter.
Still 7-4 as the 4th Quarter gets underway.
Noseworthy gets the hat trick as Michigan puts the lead back to three, 8-5 score, with 7 minutes left.
So much sports for one day!! GO BLUE!!
100 seconds left and it's a 8-6 game. Hang on, boys!
Goal!!! That should do it!
overwhelmed with maize and blue sports......go blue!!!
now on to hockey
Michigan wins! This puts them at 7-2. Next week is #2 Maryland in Ann Arbor. Even though Michigan beat #4 Notre Dame, it seems likely that this will be a curb stomping by Maryland. Go Blue! Beat the Terps!
arg, according to livestats we outshot them 14-2 in the 2nd period. that doesnt seem completely accurate, but still annoying to let them tie it up. 1 more period, lets go blue!!!
woops, this was meant for the hockey thread!
