Lincoln took mercury for depression and general mental instability, he certainly would have been prone to mood swings.

Well maybe you shouldn't have bet your youngest child's life on a Michigan win. Then you wouldn't be so upset.

I would say that the statement "Harbaugh is what's best for Michigan" is yet to be determined. His past body of work (before Michigan) would suggest he has what it takes to turn Michigan around, but his objective results thus far would suggest the jury is out. Next year will define what kind of coach he is at Michigan and if he is what is best for the program.

Are you saying we should have ran a spread or read option with QBs like Speight and Peters WTF! Harbaugh made some mistakes but he didnt drop a punt or field a punt on the 7 and run backwards or let several punts drop or fumble inside the 5 or throw a pick in the endzone or slide a yard short of the first down or drop passes or get a late hit penalty. No team wins with 5 turnovers but you can win with a pro style offense

Harbaugh is the right guy but we need to make changes in the asst. Coaching ranks especially offensive coordinator

when has the air raid ever worked?
Uhh... I mean, there's a game on right now with that in full display.

Ok, but Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin, Penn St., Notre Dame, etc. all seem to win meaningful games with more pro-focused offenses. So...where we at?
January 1st, 2018 at 5:56 PM ^
Penn State?
January 1st, 2018 at 6:02 PM ^
If your question is about them winning meaningful games, I'll refer you to their 11-2 season.
If it's about their offensive style, it's a hybrid that combines zone read elements with a traditional West Coast offense. Still a lot of pro elements.

Alabama is the only team on that list to win anything. Penn state got lucky last year, notre dames been to 1 ncg and they got whipped, wisconsin won a couple b1g's when the b1g was the worst it's ever been, and georgia has never been great until this year and they are down 21/7 atm.

They are literally all superior to us right now.
January 1st, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
Well, they kinda win EVERYTHING* so that's pretty good argument that a pro style can work. But honestly, it's not that you can only win, or can never win with this or that offense. You just need to be fucking creative, not run the same obvious concepts all the time. And then pull out the double-secret concept you've been waiting all season for -- the Tight End handoff!!
*no, obviously Bama doesn't literally win everything. They just win more than everyone else's offense.

Stereotyping is difficult for people to overcome obviously. Milton is actually slow. He may actually be the slowest scholarship QB on the roster next year. People insist on stereotyping him though.
January 1st, 2018 at 9:15 PM ^
So people assume he can run. It's that old football prejudice of white statue pocket passing QB (Tom Brady / Dan Marino, etc) vs. the fleet footed running QB (Randall Cunningham / Michael Vick, etc).
Things have changed a lot in the past 20 years, and there are plenty of QB's that debunk this argument (Steve Young was a great runner / Dante Culpepper was a slow pocket passing gunslinger), but some people still hold to the running athletic black qb stereotype.
That said, I hope Joe Milton is a better runner than Wilton Speight, John O'korn and Brandon Peters.

Alabama isn't a spread. Moorhead has specifically said his offense is a combo zone read/West Coast offense. Notre Dame is very pro-style heavy. Mobile QB doesn't mean spread.
