I wouldn't look into the Austin Peay game at all...those guys will be ready and fired up to visit Ann Arbor. Like the majority of the teams around the country, they started slow this past weekend.
Check the numberss, their QB can sling it and that worries me. IMO, he's better than anything Florida threw out in front of us.
Now when I say worries me, not that we'll lose...but that the game will be uncomfortable. Like you OP, I want to see backups early...I'm not sure we're going to get that on Saturday.
I think Michigan comes out an executes MUCH better on offense. Defensively Cincy's quick passing game negates some of our speed on the DL and puts more pressure on the secondary.
IMO, this could go a lot like the bad parts UCF (or 2nd half of Colorado) last year. We just won't get out hit this time (sarcasm).
We won those games, but I remember a lot of grumbling because it just didn't feel dominant or fluid. Cinci's screen game is going to give them a chance for big plays if Bush and Hudson are flying at the QB. I like, don't love these CBs...a lot more pressure on our safeties.
Offensively, I think being at home and Speight calming down and realizing he doesn't have playmaking ability and just has to be boring Speight who does what he's coached rather than Aaron Rodgers running down the field telling his coach "GO!" after his 1st TD pass will be the difference.
IMO the offense sustaining drives is what helps us pull away until Cincinnati has to get too one dimensional and the defense takes it home minus a late meaningless TD.
Michigan
14-7-10-7: 38
Cincinnati
0-7-3-7: 17

Completely wrong on Hayden Moore.
Close on the score and the frustrating flow of the game.

Yeah, I expected a lot more out of him.
But I didn't like the majority of the board looking at Austin Peay and thinking it was going to be a 58-0 win like the post after mine predicted.
Too young.
Even last year we had a bunch of frustrating moments early in the year, I saw this as more of the same...and honestly, I see next Saturday being frustrating at times as well (not as much, but not an easy blow out).

This game I imagine is like kissing your sister. No one wins. On the bright side, Lavert Hill getting a pick 6 will only help his confidence and hopefully help ascend him to being Jourdan Lewis 2.0. Other than than that, not too much to be happy about, coaching included.

On a related note, I guess it's good to be pissed about a 22 point win against an opponent that has been respectable in the past decade?
