He's going to go to Michigan. Miami people are a little too excited about their recruiting success in the first two months of the cycle.
I wish I could upvote this 3 to 9 times.
This got old by the 35th to 69th time it was posted on the MGoBoard.
....are you sure it wasn't the 23-32 time it was used???
AT LEAST SOMEBODY GOT IT!!!!
But...it was crazy. We had subs!
Jerseys are selling like hotcakes. In Ohio.
Tacopants.
35-69 is MSU's record against Michigan.
lol.
True but it's helpful to specify which one we're talking about. Never assume ya know. It also works with OSU (Oklahoma St., Oregon St., Ohio St.) which are all standard D1 programs.
It is a vestige of the Rich Rod days when our biggest competitor for recruits was NTM. I do not miss those days.
No, it's actually a vestiage of the CCHA days when Miami (NTM) was one of our strongest rivals for 5 years or so, so Brian would frequently be referencing Miami (NTM) and Miami (YTM).
Now that the Fightin Blazis are no longer on our schedule, the reference is becoming a little forced
Lets just hope that Michigan is not Skippy Handleman and get rejected by Mallory.
At least you didn't "go to the bathroom," Boner ...

Yes THEE MEEEEECHIGAN!!!
Our recruiting classes will be stacked for years to come. Rashan Gary? Aubrey Soloman? DPJ? Enjoy the success stories!!
LET'S GO BLUE!!
But did anyone else see the story that "broke" today? Apparently, MSU recruit Jacub Panasiuk (who later commited and will be on campus this summer) got an MIP while ON HIS OFFICIAL VISIT there in January. While an MIP isn't a huge deal, in my opinion, I think we can officially put the "Dantonio recruits character" silliness to bed forever.

EDIT: I expect at least 3-9 responses to this sub-thread...
I was told only 3-9 Mgoblog users think it's played out, so it still has a few months.
OK, I'll be the out-of-state dummy.
What's an MIP?
(Marijuana In Possesion, something like that?)
minor in possession. underage alcohol.
*Gasp*
In a college town no less.
What will these young whipper snappers come to with all their jitterbugging and heavy petting?
Things sure have changed up here on Walton's Mountain.
Stop the presses!

As long as you've got a chip on your shoulder, Dantonio will recruit you.
He will also accept players with chips in their ankle bracelets.
Using Twitter science analyzing his hashtags and recent follows he is a lock for Miami
I want Mustapha and Mallory but I'd be fine with just Mustapha. Miami is the hot school right now for no apparent reason. Wouldnt shock me if he joined Brevin Jordan there
If we can't get these players, I can live with Miami draining talent away from the SEC and FSU / Clemson . . . to go play for Mark Richt.
Win-win. Nobody will ever hear from these players again.
That will probably be how I look at it until the Miami Herald starts parroting the Georgia line that Mark Richt has lost control of the program several years down the road. At that point, my faux shock will take over and I'll sit there saying, "Lose control of college kids in the Miami area? NOOOOO...."
Honestly, I could go either way on Mallory. Yeah, he's a legacy and fills a position of need, but I think we are deep enough with receiving TE's already, especially with Mustapha. I'd rather have another Wheatley or Asiasi type, similar to Brevin Jordan or Leonard Taylor or possibly Thomas Booker. Otherwise, just Mustapha would be just fine, and we still have a shot with Ruckert. I just feel like Mallory would redshirt his first year and not have significant contributions for awhile behind Wheatley, Bunting, Eubanks, and Mustapha.
Miami has a similar last 10-12 years as Michigan, is in a warm climate, has had a more recent history of success, has a coach with a good track record from Georgia, and if we're being honest, I'm sure the 30 for 30's on The U helped with the prestige. Let's not act dumb and pretend Miami wouldn't be a very appealing situation for a lot of kids.
Or for one very apparent reason...

[insert Counter Strike reference here]
There's tons of TEs out there. It looks like Mustafa will come to Michigan so we'll just be looking for one more to drop to us. I'm not too worried.
He wants to decide on NSD. That's a long way out which means the season can affect things. Double-edged sword. We do well, our recruiting can be gangbusters. We do less than expected, and recruiting can take a slide.
