Michigan Stadium intro video played last Saturday (link)
A friend of mine, Art Vuolo, who has been filming games from the pressbox for decades posted a preview of his DVD he's selling of his Michigan-Oregon State film and the preview includes the intro video that was played on the scoreboard Saturday.
It starts at- 1:41
WARNING: Pop Evil's "In The Big House" plays at the beginning of the video. It is loud. Skip to 1:41 in the video before you press play if you're at work or let the RAWK blast through your speakers.

Missed this at the game on Saturday. Awesome to finally get to see it, thanks for posting.

And by "this" of course I'm referring to the sultry sounds making love to my ears at the very beginning of the video. Who did you say that was? Pop Evil? I should check them out...

less candor

Beilein calling the play was fantastic. It was crazy!

Art takes the full TV broadcast and adds the radio audio over it, and adds all those other extras in there.

Just out of curiosity, has he ever run into legal issues with this? Judging by the preview, he's reproducing a pretty substantial amount of copyrighted material and selling it (though he's obviously mashing it up in a unique way).

Not that I know of. He knows just about everyone there is to know with the Football program in terms of the administration.
He did a Bob Ufer tribute for the QB Club event and the video received a standing ovation from Jim and Jack Harbaugh.
He also basically got Brandstatter the PBP job after Beckmann was forced out by Brandon like Jon Falk and Bruce Madej......err.... I mean he retired.

Got it. With those connections, I'm sure he's good. Cool video!

It was crazy - we had koala-ty subs.

A little disappointed there wasn't a flash photo of Darth Vader, but still nice!
September 15th, 2015 at 3:28 PM ^
I was homesick by the end of the video. Thanks for posting.

Video lays it on a little thick.
But it's cool that Darth Vader went to Michigan before taking over the galaxy.

I did realize it was laid on a bit thick, but James Earl Jones makes it work. In the hands of a lesser artist, it might not have worked.

So badly wanted to see it again. Made me want to run through a wall to get to the field at the game. Still does now.

I have a 24 hour dial, and trust me when I saw, 6 to midnight hurts.

I thought it would be posted somewhere on here by now, but I am not seeing it.

I like the video. While Pop Evil isn't for me, I don't quite get all the conniptions people have about it. I mean, it isn't nearly as bad as the cheesy "We are Notre Dame" song with the leprachaun and all.
I like the video, I don't love it. Yeah, I'm with Brian. Part of arrogance and success and excellence is not needing to tell everyone that you're the "best university in the world." Which, frankly, is completely subjective. I love Michigan, and will always love Michigan, but there is no perfect metric. Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, and others have some claim on this, depending on how you measure "best university in the world." Is Michigan the hardest to get into? Do it's grads make more money on average than any other university? Is it the oldest? Does it have the most Nobel prize winners? Does it have the most American presidents? I don't know the answer, and frankly, I don't care about the answer. Strive for excellence, and leave the metrics to others.

Yes, but I think Michigan has a long standing reputation for its institutional arrogance, e.g., Harvard = Michigan of the East. We're excellent AND we're not afraid to toot our own horn. That's just part of the charm of our great institution.

Was actually used by John F. Kennedy, Harvard graduate, when he stood on the steps of the Union in 1960. So, if Harvard (or anyone else, for that matter) has a problem with it, they can take it up with him.

Never knew JFK used the line about "the Michigan of the East" in that speech.
I finally have a signature.

We're not talking just academics here.... When you combine academics with athletics, then Michigan may very well be the best university in the world and I think it is.

Oh. My. God. Yes.
WE ARE THE BEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD

Although, when you look at the combo of academic + college town + athletics, you can make a good case that Michigan is one of the absolute best places to go college in the world. Probably neck and neck with your Stanfords, Ohio States, Texas', and Floridas

It was Phelps... and Michigan claims him because of the one or two classes he took. Also, didn't Madonna also drop out after a bit or did she eventually get awarded her degree? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
