there will be wanting to revoke the trophy if the Patriots win?
February 1st, 2015 at 5:39 PM ^
likes to ignore the 38 point victory by the Pats. If 2 pounds of pressure in a football gives a team that kind of advantage then they should all be smart enough to figure out how to get away with it.

For data viz and technology fans, www.nowtbg.com is a Super Bowl site developed by a software startup to track the game and reactions in real-time.
Full disclosure, I am related to someone in the company, but watching the maps and ad-leaderboard is pretty cool.
Go Patriots.

I haven't been this excited about a Super Bowl since the Skins were in it - not sure why. I guess because I think these are the two best teams with immense talent on both sides of the football. I predict a barnburner extraordinaire, much like the Seahawks-Packers game.

How does that kid drink the beer that fast?

I'm watching from my living room.
I should be on a plane from Phoenix to Chicago, but those plans got hammered by (a) snow in Chicago, and (b) both Tucson and Phoenix were completely fogged in this morning.
My heart is with the Patriots because of Brady, but I think Seattle has the mojo going.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:43 PM ^
All I can say is that if what is going on here around Detroit is similar to Chicago, then you definitely don't want to be here right now, at least if you're not a fan of snow and two foot drifts (and increasing). I've shoveled myself out five times already today and will probably do it a few more times during and after the Super Bowl.

I used to like snow. The occasional blizzard was a good time. Then I got older.
Air travel is fine when the system works. Air travel sucks when there's a major disruption to a hub city like Chicago. Disrupt two hub citiies (Chicago and Phoenix) and ... ughh.
Screw it ... I canceled the business meeting in Chicago. Probably the right thing anyway since it was downtown and a lot of people would be coming in from the 'burbs. Likely a mess driving for a day or two.

We just got a nice dose of heavy, wet snow this morning, and now the wind is blowing very hard and the temperature is plummeting. Not a good mix. SE Iowa.

I'm stuck at work for the next four hours. If anyone has a link to a live feed, I would be most appreciative.

Patriots win 3-1 in my book.
Patriots have:
1. Tom Brady
2. Alan Branch
3. Cam Gordon
Seahawks:
1. Steve Schilling

but i hate how everyone has to sing our national anthem in their own way. Just sing the song and get off the stage- it's not about you
February 1st, 2015 at 6:30 PM ^
February 1st, 2015 at 7:17 PM ^
to show they know what the song's about, they should have some freedom (get it?) to make it personal.

Damn Vegas, Over/Under on the National Anthem was 122.5 seconds, I clocked 124 seconds.

Don't ever make that bet. It is often recorded and word gets out how long it is. Agents and the talent make a killing.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:39 PM ^
I didn't bet it, but just thought it was pretty remarkable how close she was to the line.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:24 PM ^
The girls with the flag in the background when John Legend was singing were practically giddy smiling.

If that was a QB kicking the ball if would have been a personal foul.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:39 PM ^
Collinsworth is right, though. By rule, that should have been 15 yards.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:43 PM ^
I agree. Just think it's funny that there is no way that call is missed if a qb is involved.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:37 PM ^
First big tactical decision of the game. And as I say that the Pats decide to decline the penalty. Guess we won't see what Belichek does with 4th and 1 close to midfield.

How the hell does Game of War, a freemium app, afford a Super Bowl commercial? Are there really that many dumb people buying in-app purchases for them to shell out a few million on a commercial?
February 1st, 2015 at 6:50 PM ^
4.5 million this year for 30 seconds. Crazy for a game and it looks like they bought more than 1.
February 1st, 2015 at 6:44 PM ^
