Does the government have the right to prohibit a private contract between two consenting adults that affects nobody other than those same two adults? (setting family & such consequences of losses aside)

I say HELL NO. You can disagree with gambling, that's fine, don't participate in it then. Freedom means the freedom to make bad choices too, which gambling aruably is. Just go ahead and get uncle sam's tax on it and be done with it.

I have to disagree that we

I have to disagree that we were the more talented team, even with homer glasses on. While it wasn't a night and day difference, it also wasn't a razor thin margin either. I'd say they were a solid A/arguable A+ and we were at BEST a B+, more realistically just on a pure talent evaluation a B or even B-.

We just outplayed them for the most part.

I worked there for a summer before and as far as I can remember, there's no height restriction for being too tall. It was pretty much up to the riders comfort. Now that was back almost 20 years ago so safety things may have changed it.

Same here haha, I discovered them around 04 and they have been my favorite since. I'll be seeing them in July for the 6th time, 4th time in Michigan :) they put on such a great show

I've had a few over the years.

Walked past 'sheed at Cedar Point in 2012, would have said hi but he was on his cell.

Met all of Switchfoot in Texas 2014, it was a big multi band show at Texas Stadium and they just walked out carrying a table and set it up in the outer walkway, talked to them all for several minutes. Very down to earth.

Met Alan Trammel and Sparky (and a couple others I don't remember, but no other big names) at the old Hyatt Regency in downtown Flint back in the 80s when they stayed overnight there for some reason.

Checked in mateen cleaves at a hotel working 3rd shift. i acted like i didn't know who he was, asked for ID, held it up to him, double checked it, I could tell he was upset. :)

Met Tommy Chong at the Cannabis Cup in Denver in 2014, he was awesome.

Bosh is very talented but he is no Rodman. Wade vs Pippen is much more interesting and much closer, but Rodman makes the decision for me.

Whitney - undefeated in the

Whitney - undefeated in the NBA playoffs

Carey - never won a single NBA playoff game

How's that? :)

Those are some good points

Those are some good points and my contention of James doing more while having less had more to do with his early career, when he took a junk team to the Finals. Perdue had his moments in the playoffs, that's why he was mentioned but that could add in the players you also said for sure.

I don't know if I would agree that James has had "much stronger" teammates on average if we take away the first 4/5 years, but it is definitely much closer to equal than the early years. I just remember how indestructible those Bulls were during their runs and it wasn't just Jordan/Pippen, it was his supporting cast who were playing on another level with him during the playoffs. It would be amazing to see the 92 or 96 Bulls play this years Cavs or Warriors, that is for sure.

I'll be incorporating those stats in though, thanks :)

I have to disagree that

I have to disagree that Jordan never had a cast like the current cavs. Here's a look at his 91-92 and 95-96 teams, usually considered his strongest teams.

91-92 Bulls

Pippen (S), Horace Grant (S), Bill Cartwright (S), John Paxson (S),  BJ Armstrong (B), Stacey King (B), Will Perdue (B). One could argue any of those 3 bench players would have started on lesser teams. Easily all strong 6th man at that time. Armstrong made the all star team in 94.

95-96 Bulls

Pippen (S), Dennis Rodman (S), Luc Longley (S), Ron Harper (S), Tony Kucoc (B), Steve Kerr (B), Bill Wennington (B), John Salley (B). That is a deep bench with a lot of talent and experience.

Jordan had LOADED teams.  James does as well, but again there is a perception that Jordan didn't have loaded teams. He absolutely did, and lost with those loaded teams until they learned to play together.

Yeah I admit in it I think

Yeah I admit in it I think James is better, but I'm open to all information and it is still open for James to cement it or lose it over the next few years. I grew up watching Jordan and thought he was the best ever for a long time (and is easily the most clutch ever), James had to convince me otherwise to take the best player title away from him but he has done that over the last few years. There's bias in just about every article out there, I don't try to hide it. I'm just trying to provide another perspective on the debate that I haven't seen yet.

I've heard plenty of things said about James "needing" to get on super teams and the like, but it is rarely mentioned just how jam packed the Bulls were when Jordan finally did win and how he wasn't able to win with lesser talented players around him, or how he thought he was so great he could come back at the end of the 95 season for another ring and lost to the Magic in the 2nd round. Or how he punched his teammate in the face. There are a lot of rosy glasses that seem to view Jordan.

Jordan is a clear winner in 2 areas: clutch time and ego. He has at least 50% of the conversation on greatest scorer.

That doesn't automatically equal greatest player to me although it is a strong argument for it, James has proven himself to be the most complete player I have ever seen on the court. If he WAS as clutch as Jordan, this conversation wouldn't even be close imo, that's how much he wins the rest of the categories.

All that aside, there are some who think MJ is the best and some who think LJ is the best and you can never convince them otherwise and that just comes with the territory.

This is true and I do cover

This is true and I do cover this a bit, but it can't be said that Jordan took on all these teams and beat them all. Boston and Bird put him out of the playoffs his first 3 years in the league, followed by the Bad Boys the next 3 years. He couldn't get past great teams for 6 seasons, along with losing to Orlando when he came back for the end of the 95 season from baseball. It just seems that Jordan is portrayed as some invincible man in the playoffs and the facts just don't support that. He missed the finals half the seasons he played in the NBA. James has made the finals more than half the season he has played.

Also Jordan had more than 2 all stars playing with him for every single ring.

I think more people will know

I don't know how to limit it

I don't know how to limit it to just one, so I'll have to do a top 3 worst singers ever. I judge music primarily on vocals first.

1. Robert Plant. Yeah I know LZ is loved, and I DO love the music, Page is a master of his craft, but Plant has zero vocal talent imo. He is a good performer, he is not a good singer. A terrible one actually, imo. LZ is like the best of one world paired with the worst of the other, but somehow it works together.  The best parts are just instrumental though, I could listen to Page shred for hours.

2. David Grohl. Despite his years of vocal training over the last couple decades, his voice remains mediocre at best. His early stuff is even worse. Add that to repetitive choruses and very basic song structures and you have a similar picture of Nickelback with worse vocal talent. He belongs on the drums. I compare it to Jordan trying baseball. On the drums, Grohl is one of the best.

3. Serj Tankian (System of a Down singer) - The one guy on the list who has actual vocal talent, but his horrible overuse of vibrato and runs makes it unlistenable to me. Some love that aspect of him, but it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Honorable mention: Brian Johnson

I was playing in a summer

I was playing in a summer baseball league when I was about 12/13, we used to play at McKinley school in Flint, I played for bishop construction.

It was the semifinal game of the playoffs that year, we were down 3 in the bottom of the 7th (final inning for summer ball) and I was up with 2 outs. (note: im a tall skinny dude now, I was even more so one then). The bases were loaded and the outfield came wayyy in. I swung at the first pitch as hard as I could, felt a little contact, and took off.

Of course I barely hit the ball, it lazily going between first and second, the 2B picked it up and for some reason didn't tag 2nd base and then rushed the throw to first, sailing it over his head and i started running towards 2nd. Moments later I saw the ball sail over the 2nd baseman's head into the outfield a little and I started running towards third. Again, I watched in disbelief as the ball was thrown over the head of the 3rd baseman and I headed towards home. I slid headfirst as i got close to home and didn't move until I heard the ump say "Safe!"

And there it was thanks to a few errors lol a grand slam bunt! =D

None of this matters. Calvin

None of this matters. Calvin is going to rest for a year and fully heal up and then "unretire" and go play with Brady until they both retire. He will have at least 2 rings when he is done. Depends if he plays 3 years with Brady or 4.. or even 5. Then he is in the HOF for sure and Brady is cemented as greatest ever, stfu everyone else. My gut is strong on this one, plus I have sources.

None with any connection to anyone involved, but sources nonetheless.

I think Harbaugh did exactly

I think Harbaugh did exactly what was needed in year one with recruiting. He showed them he could win, then with the entire recruiting cycle culminating in SOTS which imo was him telling all future recruits, "You are going to be in the spotlight if you come to Michigan, can you handle it?" I think this is going to help bring in hungry stone cold killers.

One thing I noticed, not only among every single recruit at SOTS, but also with Gary, none of them were loud. A couple smiled but they all kept their voices very quiet. That tells me Harbaugh is bringing in guys who know how to bottle their rage and unleash it on the field. No loud off the field stuff, save it all for the field. There was no dancing or anything on the way to the stage, only a brief moment for themselves when they first set foot on the stage and the crowd let them hear it, then it was back to all business.

I can't fucking wait. This is Harbaugh's first true class and I am very, very impressed!

Who's got it better than us??
