Jon Sanderson Joins Illinois Basketball as Consultant
As if it wasn't already bad enough that he left our program, Sanderson takes a job with Illinois basketball as a sports performance consultant. What a miserable season this has been.
Good for him. Maybe Warde will wake up.
Fuck Warde. Where is Santa? This guy needs to go. We're going to get another miserable year with no upside.

Not to mention that Sanderson's highly rated basketball playing kid will probably go to Illinois now, Warde is such an awful, do nothing in a timely fashion, AD.
SMDH
Why is Juwan still coach? Any proactive AD would have already made the move.
Why is such a great university stuck with such a terrible AD?

It wasn't long ago that whenever anyone said anything about Warde never seeming to do anything, the answer was that 'he works in the background because not everything needs a public face'.
How's all that background work sorting out, Warde defenders?

Well said VaBlue, it's so frustrating to have to endure inaction whenever it's needed.
He comes off MIA when he's needed the most as if he's hoping any issues will disappear all on their own.
Where is Santa?
Good question. He's Warde's boss and this fanbase has continuously hailed him as the savior and hero of Michigan athletics for doing...what exactly? By my count, Santa has:
- Been involved in the Harbaugh contract negotiations that went nowhere and ultimately saw Harbaugh leave.
- Came out with a strong statement of support for Harbaugh amid the B1G's attempt to suspend him before the PSU game and said he was hiring a law firm to fight it...and then totally capitulated, let Harbaugh get suspended, and didn't fight it at all. Strong words, and then he slinked away.
- Continually supports and embraces both Warde and Juwan.
I just don't see the justification for the love affair with Santa, while we trash and cry about Warde. If Warde is truly as terrible as most think he is, then isn't Santa doing a terrible job by not managing him correctly or by not firing him? Where does the buck stop in this situation?
Totally agree with you. If Warde doesn’t fire Howard and then Santa doesn’t fire Warde, then Santa needs to be thought of in the same light as Warde.

Santa sued Petitti, Schlissel would have never. We didn’t win but fighting it helped with public opinion
March 15th, 2024 at 12:06 PM ^
Santa didn't sue Petiti. He threatened to and talked a big game, and then totally laid down and accepted the B1G's punishment. That did NOT help with public opinion at all. If anything, it made the punishment look fitting to the general public, because of the way Michigan totally caved.
Screw the three fucking assholes that cost us him.
Which 3? Juwan, warde, and who? Jace?
Yes, the spoiled brat Jace.
I'm not willing to put blame on an undergraduate player. Kids are gonna hotheads sometimes. The adults are there to address that appropriately. This situation is on Warde and Juwan, 100%.
A soon-to-be 23 year old is hardly a kid.
So.. he's 22? Odd phrasing bro.
Not odd, actually quite informative and effective. He's almost 23, and a year is a big difference.
March 15th, 2024 at 10:49 AM ^
He doesn’t turn 23 until September, so it’s not accurate. Odd and unnecessary phrasing, a 22 year old should be held to the same level of accountability as an “almost 23 year old.”
Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan. He spits hot fire.
Jace only does what he has been allowed to get away with. His dad/coach has allowed him to act the way that he does.
Juwan has created and cultivated the culture that exists with the MBB program. I am sad that Sanderson is a casualty of this toxic culture. Sanderson was a valuable asset to the program for a very long time.

We could have fired Juwan for cause, kept Sanderson, and gotten his kid.
Illinois knows damn well M got rid of the wrong coach.
lol....doing great Juwan
The situation must have really been miserable here if his rebound job is under Brad Underwood.
never mind.
Definitely one of the more annoying aspects of this season. A bad season is one thing. Things like this hurt future seasons.
March 14th, 2024 at 10:01 PM ^
Especially when Sanderson's son is a top 50 recruit for 2026.
Start the clock on his kid’s commitment to Illinois…
He wasn't coming here anyway, not with his dad's opinion of our culture.
You gotta be fucking kidding me
Leaving the cellar to a perennial conference championship contender - good for him. Bad for us.
March 15th, 2024 at 12:26 AM ^
He'll have to get used to choking in the tourney. That'll be a big change from what he's used to.
Not making the tourney at all?
Cool, cool, cool, cool
Fire Warde
I think we can get over this if they restart the program. The Sanderson thing, to me, is less of a big deal
It's now been 24 hours since the season has ended and still no decision from Warde on Juwan. They had three months to prepare for this day and nothing. If we were competent, a decision would have been made immediately following the game last night and they would already have started the coaching search.
Warde is waiting until Juwan finds a nice soft place to land. Then he’ll announce we’ve “parted ways” with Juwan while he goes and takes an assistant role in the NBA. Mark my words.
They probably hired him to get all the UM basketball secrets because how else can you win against Michigan?
Because our shit works
Brad Underwood slowly leaning in: "Tell me again, how do we just get Michigan to hand us the ball for free? In volumes. Over and over. No limit turnovers. There's no hypnosis? Must be a trick?"
"No trick. That's just how they are coached to play. "- Sanderson
"Incredible. Just like our zero percent financing down at Slick Undy's Used Autos. Test Drive one today, Jon, and discover what it's like to be a winner again. "
/I've never posted an image before. I am choosing Underwood for my demise and formatting negs
I think what you outlined is the best case scenario for Michigan. I saw a documentary when I was younger about the Underwood crime family and they're ruthless. They'll stop at nothing to get the treasure they want.
Once the Underwood Crime family which you speak of gets a dose of Camp Sanderson? Look out B1G.
His son will probably follow him there and be a 1st team all big ten point guard.
He wasn't coming here anyway, with his dad's opinion of coach and culture...
I can understand him leaving - but to go to our biggest rival?
March 14th, 2024 at 11:03 PM ^
He’s not going to Rutgers.
I guess this means we’ll have to change our signs for hoops next season. Underwood will do anything for an advantage.
March 14th, 2024 at 10:49 PM ^
Juwan can say "you're welcome" to Illinois again.
March 15th, 2024 at 12:05 AM ^
Losing Sanderson is a huge fuckup.
The hits keep on coming. Don’t worry though Warde was seeing effort out there.
