Best d tackles in the nation. Absolutely won these last two games.

Excellent observation mass blue.
Kenneth Grant, Mayson Graham, and Josiah Stewart had monster games! McGregor, Harrell, Moore, and Goode also played strong games.

jenkins deserves mention too if were recognizing the front. the younger guys made more wow plays but jenkins did his thing and has been an important, versatile piece
January 9th, 2024 at 10:42 AM ^
I love Jenkins, both on the field and off the field.

Mason Graham....beast

No time to insert right now. Too excited.

I'm just here to upvote every damn thread. We are all champions tonight!
WOoooOOoooo!!!!!
January 9th, 2024 at 12:42 AM ^
Dominated up front. Superb job.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:42 AM ^
No argument here. That D line is the strength of the defense.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:42 AM ^
Graham, Grant and Will Johnson just sophomores. That's nuts. The defense should be legit again next year.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:05 AM ^
Losing Barrett, Sainristil and Jenkins will suck, but we’re gonna be loaded on D with those 3, Derrick Moore, Stewart, Hausmann getting another year in the system and the MD transfer LB.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:43 AM ^
Penix has the fastest release I’ve ever seen. The fact that we were able to pressure with 4 is incredible, and I hope Hutchinson and Ojabo felt a moment of pride this game
January 9th, 2024 at 8:19 AM ^
Minter said the same thing in his post game interview. Rushing four allowed them to cover better and also disguise coverages.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:44 AM ^
Cannot believe these 2 freaks at DT are true sophomores. With Benny out I will be curious to read the UFR (in April lol) on how many plays they were in for, but it seemed like ALL of them.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:57 AM ^
Safe to say there’s probably no drop off in D line production next year.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:58 AM ^
Goode was still getting rotation snaps. Jenkins might have played his best game of the year tonight too.
That DL was insane all year.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:44 AM ^
Penix never looked comfortable! They were the x-factor. Washington had never dealt with a line like those guys
January 9th, 2024 at 10:44 AM ^
And yet Texas was supposed to be the team with the dominant DTs. Underestimate Michigan at your own risk.
January 9th, 2024 at 12:47 AM ^
Yes totally. Our D line completely boa constrictor-ed their Joe Moore winning O line. They could not run at all. They had the yips and multiple called and non called false starts. And finally we rushed 4 and that Penix guy took his beating. It was a glorious D line season
January 9th, 2024 at 12:50 AM ^
Yep. The d-line absolutely disrupted Penix and prevented him from ever getting into a rhythm. Without their work, he would have made much better throws. Incredible last couple of games!
January 9th, 2024 at 12:55 AM ^
Mike Elston you did this.
Kris and Mason and Derrick and Braden and Josiah and Cam and Rayshaun and Jaylen and Kenneth, you did this.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:03 AM ^
It will be a 2021 Georgia level DL next year. It is funny looking at Bucknuts predicting that Michigan will have a massive step back next year when they still have Graham, Grant, Stewart, Johnson, Moore etc.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:07 AM ^
Maybe ND should have tried to hang on to him, eh?
January 9th, 2024 at 1:17 AM ^
Hands down the most consistent and effective.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:19 AM ^
He was a student assistant on the ‘97 national title team. Mike is the key!
January 9th, 2024 at 1:33 AM ^
His unit certainly came up bigger than Penix in this one.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:49 AM ^
Dude is a phenomenal coach. Our D-Line is incredible - deep, balanced, sound, smart, talented.
Player development is our secret sauce, and Elston is the finest developer of talent we have.
What an amazing coaching staff - by far the best in football.
Go Blue! National Champs!!!
January 9th, 2024 at 7:46 AM ^
Love this man and agree with all of his sentiments! Go Blue!
January 9th, 2024 at 8:01 AM ^
Washington’s oline was overrated IMO. They got away with some blatant holds and the only reason why they looked good this year was because Penix has a very quick release
January 9th, 2024 at 8:33 AM ^
I think Penix was one hit away from throwing in the towel and exclaiming "No mas!"
January 9th, 2024 at 8:51 AM ^
No idea how he wasn't up for assistant coach if the year. Absolutely incredible job with that D Line.
January 9th, 2024 at 10:08 AM ^
I said it when it happened and I'll say it again now. Nua was insanely mediocre and it had nothing to do with Don Brown. Elston elevated this defense ten fold. Glad Notre Dame pissed him off and overlooked him.
