Guess the Rose Bowl Score + Bonus, Guess the UW/UT Score
Mates,
Be the envy of all your friends, adored by media and celebrities alike, and guess the score to the Rose Bowl. I note that Michigan is still a 1 1/2 point favorite.
Bonus: Sugar bowl has #3 Texas as a 4 pt favorite over #2 UW. Guess that score, too.
Happy New Year,
XM
p.s. The Lions got jobbed worse than I have ever seen. Someone said the 1972 Moscow Olympics, and that seems about right.

Is there extra credit for the Mizzou score? If so, my only hope is your accuracy on the other games.

Extra credit from me. Well played.

If Michigan has an aggressive gameplan utilizing all weapons from the start, they win: Michigan 23, Alabama 20.
If Michigan plays too conservatively, they lose. Alabama 20, Michigan 13.

agreed, tough call.
harbaugh has his best team with his best QB and best shot at a ring - he also needs to break some tendencies, which hes struggled to do over the years, for the O to get there.
to will it into existence ill predict mccarthy has 9 carries 60 yards and somehow gets to 200 passing, D gets 2 turnovers which is the difference - michigan wins 25-22.
texas beats wash 37-30

GS -- yeah, I honestly don't know. 2021-23 Me has seen Jim improve his offensive-side coaching quite a bit, but 2015-2020 Me looks at M's horrid postseason performance. 21-23 Me salivates at our killer defense, but 15-20 Me looks at our difficulties with mobile QBs and tempo.
I just don't know. But I do think that it's as much on the coaching staff as it is on the players.

Michigan has never beaten a team ranked better than #5 in a bowl game.
Changing that miserable record is a tall order against Alabama.

31-28 Michigan. Turner kicks the GWFG as time expires (35 yards) in regulation. Vegas wins big.
38-28 Texas. UW plays catch up the whole game. 4th quarter FG puts it out of reach for UW.

Bama is the best team left and will outplay us for much of the game. But I have to believe. Our front 7 will make good use of their hands stripping balls and swatting down passes. We'll get some fortuitous turn overs.
Michigan 31 Alabama 30
Texas 38 Washington 28

Mich 27 'Bama 24.
Texas 42 Wash 39.
In '72 it was the USA Men's BB team that got jobbed by the refs which gave the USSR something like 3 chances with 6 sec to go in each possessions to score the winning bucket. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Also Dave Wottle from Bowling Green (OH) won the 800M gold when he passed two Kenyian runners with 50M to go. Frank Shorter also won the Marathon god medal.

My fear is that JJ will not be fully plugged into the running game and also a lack of play action will doom the effort. I hope I'm wrong.

If it please the court: I do believe that the 1972 Winter Olympics were held in Sapporo, Japan.
And?
What do *you* think will be the score(s), XM?
December 31st, 2023 at 4:20 PM ^
the interweb tells me that the game was played in munich, not moscow.
as to the rose bowl, i really don't have a prediction other than the idea that until and unless we prove we can beat a fully weaponized dark-money SEC team, i will presume we won't. i guess i shouldn't have been shocked about the stat that bama has as many 5*'s as the entire B10, combined. ridiculous. hopefully NIL will eat away at that advantage, but even if it does, it won't happen by 5:00 EST, tomorrow.
December 31st, 2023 at 6:01 PM ^
Yes, its ridiculous..and I think a lot of fans undersell the on paper talent advantage Bama has over, well...UM and everyone else. Its an uphill battle for UM and if they pull this off it would represent a seismic shift in the overall power dynamic in CFB.
