You do it your way I'll do it mine. :). Have to add a little zest.

Turkey with all the trimmings. We like Thanksgiving dinner so much we do it again.
December 25th, 2023 at 12:46 PM ^
We love Thanksgiving turkey and I say I’ll make it in the offseason, but never do it.
We had a spiral ham last night and have lots of leftovers. May make the standing rib roast tonight… or have leftovers. Depends on what Mrs, Clause wants.

I like the sound of scrabbled eggs.
December 25th, 2023 at 2:11 PM ^

December 25th, 2023 at 9:07 PM ^
I love the sound of breaking glass.
December 25th, 2023 at 3:00 PM ^
Same. Just finished a veggie egg caserol bake with bacon, pancakes and toast on the side.
Started the day with mimosas and shifting now to Christmas Ale (Thirsty Dog brewery) to watch football.
Will eat the Thai carry out leftovers from last night when I get hungry again.
Merry Christmas!

Weirdly whole branzino

Seafood! My wife's aunt had a different take on a seafood dinner yesterday. She made baked salmon, baked cod, scallops, crab cakes, and shrimp scampi. Also had the sides - baby red potatoes, green beans, broccoli, orzo, hollandaise, and the breads. It was all soo good - that woman can cook! It was such a nice change from turkey...
December 25th, 2023 at 12:26 PM ^
A traditional turkey, Brussel sprouts, braised cabbage, Yorkshire pudding. Trying to keep some traditions alive here.

Leg of lamb, spanakopita, and pastitio. Going Greek today (insert jokes below)!

I’ve always heard great things about a drjaws pot roast

Beef brisket has been going since 130 am.
December 25th, 2023 at 12:41 PM ^
Where do you live?
December 25th, 2023 at 3:02 PM ^
Haha. There will definitely be leftovers.
December 25th, 2023 at 2:28 PM ^
I had my brisket shipped up from Texas. It will only take a couple of hours to heat up. All the traditional sides of jalapeño sausage, cream corn, baked beans, and potato salad to make sure everyone is stuffed.

Pina colada and potluck at the key West KOA
December 25th, 2023 at 1:24 PM ^
Key West has a KOA? I love that!
It’s both classy and trashy at the same time, and on Christmas? 🎅🏻 🎄
December 25th, 2023 at 2:29 PM ^
It's on Sugarloaf key. It was decimated a few years back but was rebuilt. We've vacationed here a few times. Super nice KOA. There are some OSU fans here so you just deal with the trashy part.
December 25th, 2023 at 3:23 PM ^
Awesome, the new Airstream is getting lots of use!! Safe travels 👍
December 25th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
Just wear the Worst State Ever shirt. I’ve noticed that since 2021 they have little to say about it.
December 26th, 2023 at 4:26 AM ^
I’ve had a number of OSU fans ask “what state is that?” on a number of occasions. The same when I wear the more perfect union version.

Prime rib with rosemary thyme garlic butter and homemade horseradish sauce. Redskin taters and asparagus sides. Meijer does a prime rib sale every year at Christmas (7.99/lb this year) and it has become a tradition for us.
December 25th, 2023 at 12:58 PM ^
Publix has standing rib roast for $6.99/lb. Big time savings!
December 26th, 2023 at 9:22 AM ^
Will have to check that out at the local Publix... Thanks for mentioning it!
December 25th, 2023 at 5:01 PM ^
Ditto! Delicious!!
December 26th, 2023 at 8:31 AM ^
Marinated beef tenderloin roast (rosemary, garlic, red wine vinegar, olive oil and soy sauce)
baked cheesy hash browns with sour cream (easier and better than twice-stuffed potatoes),
green bean casserole with mushrooms and crispy onions,
my own garden salad (romaine lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumber, croutons, chopped red onions, sliced mini peppers, shreaded sharp cheddar cheese, balsamic vinegar vinaigrette dressing)
coconut custard pie
C'est Magnifique!

Filet Mignon sea salted and peppered, seared in butter and soy sauce. Broccoli with butter, salt, and shaved parmesan. Homemade honeycrisp apple bread (moist brown sugar cake) with pecans for dessert.
Enjoying the football games today, zipping up the house tomorrow, and starting the 2100 mile drive from Detroit to Fort Mohave AZ first thing Wednesday with wife and dog. 4 months of sunshine, and when thermometer hits 100, coming straight back to the great state of Michigan.
Merry Christmas and Go Blue!

Fort Mojave? I spent two weeks in Bullhead City (stayed at the Avi Resort).
It was June, and the area was described to me as “the devil’s ass crack.”
December 25th, 2023 at 4:03 PM ^
I don’t know how people stay there all year round. When it’s in the 120’s, going outside the house for any reason has to be a big inconvenience.
December 25th, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
Now that's a plan.
December 25th, 2023 at 12:44 PM ^
Today we feast. The highlights are city chicken (veal and pork), kielbasa (smoked and fresh), pierogi, mashed potatoes, and some sort of vegetable dish my sister brings that everyone pretends to enjoy.
I usually bake something, but this year I cheated and bought a cake from New Palace Bakery for dessert. Also, when did cakes start costing $30?
December 25th, 2023 at 1:35 PM ^
My dad used to make city chicken every year for my birthday. Haven't had it since he left us in 2016.
But he still makes it, he just lives in Surprise, AZ now.
December 26th, 2023 at 9:27 AM ^
The location of dad's home makes sense... This simple three sentence post features a 180° turn from dark to fantastic! +1 to you, Yak!

I recently ate at Polania for the first time in years, so good.
December 26th, 2023 at 4:29 AM ^
In LA $30 is a slice of cake. I draw the line at the $50 pizza delivery though.
