Embed seems to be broken - here’s a working link
December 18th, 2023 at 10:11 PM ^
Testing oembed way...
EDIT: Yep, the alternate "Oembed way" isn't working either. It shows up in the preview post, but after submit it goes back to just text.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:17 PM ^
Strange. It wouldn't work with the media embed either. 🤷♂️
December 18th, 2023 at 10:19 PM ^
Yeah tried in the OP and in the comment and got nothing 🤷♂️
December 19th, 2023 at 8:25 AM ^
That picture is 100% fake. That stadium is full.
December 19th, 2023 at 9:06 AM ^
Maybe it's just from the 90s.
December 19th, 2023 at 9:52 AM ^
They didn't sell out then either.
December 19th, 2023 at 10:34 AM ^
Nice touch on putting his father's name on the jumbotron. Wonder if it actually is his birthday.
But yeah, when was the last time they sold out or even got close to it?
This season, homecoming against UVA drew 58,503 against a capacity of 64,767 (90.3%).
Average home attendance this season was 49,714 (76.8%).
Research shows that they sold out twice since 2018 - both times against FSU, in 2018 and 2022.

Needed Russian hackers to get the tweet to embed
December 18th, 2023 at 9:58 PM ^
I think this was posted a couple days ago
December 18th, 2023 at 10:00 PM ^
It was that he was rumored to go. Officially official now
December 18th, 2023 at 10:14 PM ^
Nothing is official until Wednesday.
December 19th, 2023 at 8:30 AM ^
NOTHING IS OFFICIAL UNTIL WE DECIDE IT IS
December 18th, 2023 at 10:02 PM ^
God they are just dropping $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Cristobal is really doing everything he can to save his job
December 18th, 2023 at 10:44 PM ^
It would be interesting to know the amount of NIL that Miami has paid out already this year. It has to be massive.
December 18th, 2023 at 11:13 PM ^
And no way are they done flipping recruits..I think Cam Ward is down to them and FSU last I saw and he wont be cheap either
December 19th, 2023 at 9:29 AM ^
Yeah, I read an article about Ward a few days ago and it mentions that he wants somewhere around $4 million to sign with a school which was the result of many CF powers backing away. How much you wanna bet that Miami outbids everyone? That should make their 100 total fans very happy. Hope he likes playing in an empty stadium
December 19th, 2023 at 9:44 AM ^
Wow, even USC backing off him might explain that amount.
I would not be surprised to see Miami drop $4 million then but I also bet their stadium has more fans too knowing their team signed a big class, not like sold out of course but they will get more fans there
I love they are pulling from OSU though so I hope they keep on doing it! Make Day cry more
December 19th, 2023 at 10:41 AM ^
I read an article on Alabama's 247 site awhile back that Saban has really slowed down recruiting the Southern Florida region - which is a HS hotbed - because of the MASSIVE amount of disguised "NIL" that Miami is throwing at recruits. In fact, the only 4-5 star So. Florida kids currently committed to Georgia, OSU and Alabama are WR Smith to OSU and 4-star Bowens to Georgia and Smith might be on flip watch as everybody (including Miami) is after him
December 19th, 2023 at 11:03 AM ^
Interesting..if Saban is backing off that area which has always been one of the top areas then that should say alot.
Smith was talked about flipping to FSU I thought? Though with Miami never know I suppose.
I guess that is one way to build a wall around your backyard, with a stack o cash
December 19th, 2023 at 4:38 PM ^
All of the Florida schools are going hard for Smith. I guess we'll know shortly if he signs with OSU or takes the massive money. Supposedly, he's the best WR out of Florida in quite a few years and that's really saying something.
December 19th, 2023 at 8:12 AM ^
Tells me half their team will be in the portal.. Also sounds like so many recruits are just chasing $$$'s not thinking further about development and getting to the nfl. They want bank now..
December 19th, 2023 at 8:50 AM ^
Or they know precisely what kind of 'development' to expect in Columbus.
December 19th, 2023 at 9:22 AM ^
They know can cash in for a year or 2 and then if not happy change jobs someplace else and get a new deal
December 19th, 2023 at 9:28 AM ^
It's probably more nuanced than that. Recruits and their handlers have a thirst for the cake, but every big time school has a refined story on how they will be developed into NFL grade prospects, why just look at how good you are now, we'll turn you into a star. This makes grabbing the cash now so much easier.
December 19th, 2023 at 9:59 AM ^
Miami could well be outbidding everyone, but it could also just be that a kid from Fort Lauderdale decided he didn't want to go far away to college. The big danger in out-of-state recruiting is always the local school.
December 19th, 2023 at 10:52 AM ^
Look their list of 2024 commits. Miami is pulling kids from all over including a couple of elite recruits from Illinois (#1 and #3 from Illinois) and another from Ohio. How you ask? $$$$$$$
December 19th, 2023 at 11:56 AM ^
But we're not talking about those guys. This is a kid from South Florida.
We could just as easily say that the reason he was interested in OSU in the first place was money.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:02 PM ^
Just hate to see it. I would love to see these people from Ohio go through a Rich Rod / Brady Hoke era of football. They might just melt down to center earth.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:41 PM ^
TO THE CORE.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:45 PM ^
Yo Bartender make mine a double!
December 18th, 2023 at 10:49 PM ^
Sadly, OSU still has the 2nd or 3rd rated recruiting class. Can we not have some Christmas joy and they fall out of the top 10?!?
December 18th, 2023 at 11:53 PM ^
Day without 5-star talent all over the field is PJ Fleck.
December 19th, 2023 at 9:39 AM ^
It's not Day - he's a dipshit that may be on his way out next year. OSU recruits itself and it's been that way since I was a student at UM in the late 60s and 70s. You could hire Elmer Fudd to coach OSU and they'll still have a top 10 to 15 class every year. I just can't figure out why all of those elite recruits want to play for Eddie Munster (with a beard).
BTW, my all-time favorite UM-OSU game was in 1969.......I was there and still remember that game like it was yesterday
December 20th, 2023 at 12:57 AM ^
PJ Fleck has way more charisma.
December 19th, 2023 at 2:30 AM ^
Kind of like… we did?
December 19th, 2023 at 11:09 AM ^
It is certainly possible now that Gene Smith is finally retiring. He has been very good at keeping them on top for the last nearly 20 years. Who thought we would fall off a cliff after Lloyd? It was unfathomable at the time.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:05 PM ^
Weird night in the blogosphere.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:19 PM ^
This is part of the reason I really love college football.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:14 PM ^
According 11W, Miami is targeting their players because they don't pay-to-play. LMAO.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:18 PM ^
It’s because those players are in the pay to play business and that means highest bidder wins.
December 18th, 2023 at 10:40 PM ^
I'll be the first to admit that missing on these 5* recruits due to our NIL model upset me quite of bit. Not anymore. The recruits that focus solely on monetary reward is just bad business and contributes to bad culture. I appreciate what Harbaugh and his staff have done to build this winning, sustainable culture.
December 18th, 2023 at 11:38 PM ^
Harbaugh knew best. The Team, The Team, The Team.
Love the Brotherhood on this squad.
December 19th, 2023 at 8:41 AM ^
But is it sustainable? Michigan currently has 5 stars like JJ and Will Johnson to bolster roster. There are no 5stars on the horizon. Not an abundance of high 4 stars either, like there used to be. How far can developing 3 and low 4 stars take a team without some support from elite talent?
But I do agree and I appreciate Harbaugh's approach to get high character players. I'm just concerned it won't work long term without some blue chippers. Let's just hope Harbaugh sticks around. I do believe his fire to WIN will keep Michigan competitive with big boys, one way or another. If he goes to NFL, gulp.
December 19th, 2023 at 12:08 PM ^
This. If someone only chooses you for money, they'll leave the second someone else offers more.
December 19th, 2023 at 8:47 AM ^
I think the funniest part of the last few months is just how many OSU fans think their program is squeaky clean
December 18th, 2023 at 10:29 PM ^
Que lastima….
December 19th, 2023 at 8:40 AM ^
or as the french say, 'quelle dommage'.
