What did Semaj say?
I am a big fan of Semaj Morgan. I think he is an electric player and is going to be the showpiece of this offense in the future. Also, it is hilarious to me that the players widely regard him as the biggest trash talker on the team, some going as far to say the biggest they have ever seen.
He went on IG Live after the game and was talking mad trash, but what did he say? I saw the tweet when Ant Wright had retweeted it, but by then the original video poster had gone private.

Pretty much started listing jersey numbers of OSU players and called them bitches one by one (from what I can remember). I know he said "18" bc I thought that was a little crazy (a freshman WR calling out Marvin Harrison Jr, lol).
November 27th, 2023 at 2:12 PM ^
Um, 18 is a beast.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:29 PM ^
A beast without gold pants
November 27th, 2023 at 2:34 PM ^
I'm willing to send everyone on the ohio state team a pair of gold pants:
Actually, a good friend of mine is a buckeye. This may be the perfect gag Christmas gift.

Jyaire brown isn’t all that great
November 28th, 2023 at 1:33 AM ^
I love Semaj. He's still young and will learn where best to channel his emotions. Talent like yours belongs on the field young man!!!!
November 27th, 2023 at 3:02 PM ^
Might be a beast, but still got beat to the slant.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
Said a lot of dumb stuff, especially as someone that didn't have an impact on The Game.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:03 PM ^
"They can't f*** with us. They know I don't give a f***. I am talking all that s***. F*** them ___. 18 a b**** on my momma. 18 a b****, number six a b****, Ryan Day a b****. I don't give a f*** I'm talking all the s***. We won, the f*** is you sayin, you know I don't give a f***, and who gon say sumn. We won."
November 27th, 2023 at 2:05 PM ^
Well that is less than ideal.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:44 PM ^
True. On the otherhand, it's perfect
November 27th, 2023 at 2:05 PM ^
well honestly it's hard to disagree
November 27th, 2023 at 2:09 PM ^
Correct and appropriate and strategic and smart are all different measures.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:23 PM ^
yeah i'm mostly joking
but honestly who cares? these are 18 year olds, let em act their age
November 27th, 2023 at 5:28 PM ^
I'm not mad at it. It's not even bulletin board material since it's a year out. But if he were my son, we'd need to talk. But he's not, so you be you!
November 27th, 2023 at 2:08 PM ^
Damn I actually said the same thing.
Seriously though I let out a loud scream after Rod's interception and it put my 7 year old in tears and my dog ran under the kitchen table.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:45 PM ^
My guttural utterance woke the 4-month-old I was holding. I did not spike her. I settled down and she fell asleep as I gently laid her down and then aggressively high-fived the others in the room.
Holly, the sweet Golden in my avatar, just turned 13. She was wearing her jersey. We celebrated when she woke up.
Such a nice afternoon it was!!

The Anti-Semaj post. Even if its unintended.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:22 PM ^
That sounds like one of our captains got in this kid's face and made sure he knew that he should, in fact, give a fuck.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:29 PM ^
I agree with him 100%
And I'm glad that he said it, the team knows that OSU was behind the PI firm.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:38 PM ^
this is the stuff the sportsmanship rule is actually intended to address
November 27th, 2023 at 2:58 PM ^
I mean… where’s the lie.
would've preferred him not to put that on IG live, but on the other hand, we could say “the sky is blue” and they’d be like “TTUN IS SUCH ARROGANT SCU❌ TO THINK THEIR COLOR IS ON THE SKY”
so fuck it.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:15 PM ^
So a freshman acted like a clown? hopefully the coaches have a few words for him.

Reminds me of our Great Books 191 lectures...good stuff.
I recall Washington having had to very tactfully address something very similar to what Semaj said (suggested by Marquis de Lafayette and Comte de Rochambeau) after the Battle of Yorktown to be incorporated into the Treaty of Paris of 1783.
This was of course after Lord Cornwallis accused the Americans and French of intent to deceive and the lesser-known war crimes of the stealing of signs, and the unsportsmanlike conduct of not having the good decency to march in a straight line with red overcoats for ease of targeting (which was not yet a crime.)
After Cornwallis couldn't surrender his (reportedly small) sword personally to Washington because he had a "cold", he returned to England with Benedict Arnold (great grandfather of a lesser known Gregory Mattison), and none too happy Lafayette and Rochambeau reportedly provided a near verbatim "Semaj" interview to the local press covering the war.
Not surprisingly, the London Times covered the events somewhat differently, highlighting the unseemly weather, ghastly tactics of the Americans in wasting tea and not liking taxes, and really hammered their reckless endangerment of English troops by stealing the signs for the tried and true signals for firing the cannons and charging, which were then known as "FIRE!" and "CHARGE!" They learned too late that covering their mouths and issuing those orders quietly to protect their battle cries greatly hampered their battlefield prowess and notoriously couldn't get any push along the lines.
Generally accepted discourse in London became, "We didn't want that sh*thole anyway, and we never got a friendly whistle over there," and they went back to kicking the shit out of myriad island nations, tormenting the actual Indians for quite some time, etc.
Interestingly, if you ever visit Cornwallis's Tomb in Ghazipur, India, if you kneel down to the base of the northernmost column, under just the right light, it's clear someone has carved, with seemingly French panache, "Washington's B*tch."
At least that's how I remember it from Great Books 191.

Freshmen say stupid things, and everyone gets a little too hyped after a big win. Who cares? And this team has had to endure over a month of opponents and coaches in the Big Ten and college football shading them over the Connor Stalions in-person scouting investigation.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:18 PM ^
I mean, it's stupid.
But if I was to judge this guy for being stupid at 18 then I'd have to flagellate every strip of skin off my back for still being stupid at twenty-eight.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:20 PM ^
He has a lot to live up to. Go Semaj!
November 27th, 2023 at 9:20 PM ^
Exactly, it not like he said they, “...better hope for a mercy rule this year because we are going to hang 100 on them.”
Or was like, a grown-ass man (as opposed to a teenager) when he said it...
November 27th, 2023 at 2:08 PM ^
I want to know... what does the fox say?
"Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding! Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding! Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding!"
November 27th, 2023 at 2:10 PM ^
Love Semaj and totally get the emotion! Nothing against him there, and I certainly have said mean things about osu. But this makes me really appreciate JJ saying how much he respects them afterwards all the more so. He demonstrated some true character in doing that.
November 27th, 2023 at 3:10 PM ^
More props for JJ indeed. Here's what he said about Zinter's injury:
“When it happened, I looked back and Zak was screaming and (right tackle) Karsen (Barnhart) was literally holding (Zinter’s) foot as it was just limp,” McCarthy said. “It was a sight I don’t wish upon anyone to see. And at that moment, seeing the look in everybody’s eyes, seeing them rally together, there was something about it. It was spiritual, honestly. It was a different drive that came out of everybody after that happened because we’re doing for one of our leaders and one of the brothers we all love.”
As my dad used to say, "...touch of class!"

First rule of trash talking: Never talk trash when the next game is in your opponent's home stadium.
Second rule: Don't talk trash on your way out the door and leave the underclassmen to deal with the fall out next year.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:23 PM ^
That's not the first rule of trash talking
November 27th, 2023 at 2:29 PM ^
First and only rule of trash talking is if you say it you better back it up. Now back it up Semaj!
November 27th, 2023 at 2:31 PM ^
I thought the first rules of trash talking were
1. Do your research
2. Be as close a trash talking clone of Charles Woodson that you can possibly be, and do your talking post-game

Some nsfw stuff about how jyaire brown, McCord, and day are soft and not very good at football.
November 27th, 2023 at 2:41 PM ^
I remember the days when most Michigan fans were angry that the players and coaches weren't taking the rivalry seriously enough. It's good to see that at least some of our players have an absolute hatred of OSU. Let's not forget they hired a PI firm to cancel us and the players know it.
