What is wrong with you?
November 18th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
I took it to mean it was a disgusting injury.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
Same.
I'm squeamish for those types of things...I knew exactly what it meant.
Kevin Ware, the Louisville kid, scarred me for life.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:51 PM ^
Agreed. Except for me it was Joe Theismann.
November 18th, 2023 at 8:41 PM ^
I almost barfed when I tore my ACL playing touch football in the snow. I understand this comment!
November 18th, 2023 at 8:52 PM ^
I can still see that
November 18th, 2023 at 7:53 PM ^
Napolean McCallum scarred me as much as Theisman did...

Tim Krumrie in the Super Bowl. 100% non-contact.

Willis McGahee, 2003 Fiesta Bowl against goddamn OSU. First time I remember watching a knee bend the wrong way like that.

That was graphic.
November 18th, 2023 at 8:46 PM ^
That was the one where the bone came through the skin right? That was nasty.
I am particularly squeamish with knee injuries.
November 18th, 2023 at 11:44 PM ^
Anyone remember Geoff Jenkins?
November 19th, 2023 at 1:54 PM ^
Marcus Lattimore was the craziest I’ve seen. His knee was completely dislocated and swung around him like a golf club.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
I just found video of it on YouTube, didn't look good, I don't recommend seeking out the video.
Best wishes to the kid for a speedy recovery.
November 18th, 2023 at 8:02 PM ^
I didn't want to see it but then ESPN actually showed a replay of it during the Florida-Missouri game. I can't believe it, but yeah, it looked horrible.
November 18th, 2023 at 10:44 PM ^
Gruesome
November 18th, 2023 at 8:33 PM ^
I was a few rows up when Touisants leg snapped in half. I still see that in my nightmares.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
Horrible...
And fuck ABC/ESPN for not putting in a lag so it wouldnt be shown live....idiots.
Get better soon young man. FSU was having a dream season. Really sucks.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:31 PM ^
I'm of two minds on this. Obviously there is a huge privacy issue. But we root for and support an exceptionally violent sport, and seeing the ramifications of that violence I think increases fan awareness and support for rules that protect players. It also puts a highlight on why these extremely talented guys should get paid at this level, its not guaranteed that you'll even be healthy enough to make it to the league.

There was a bad hit in an ESPN game a couple weeks ago. The player was knocked unconscious, the game was stopped for 10 minutes. The announcers couldn’t decide whether to show it again or not. Then they threw it to the studio and that guy was going to show it until the director decided not to. I went to ESPN.com and it was on the front page with a 30 second ad preceding the hit. ESPN is a corporate whore.
November 18th, 2023 at 8:34 PM ^
They had their sky cams over top. Douche bags!
November 18th, 2023 at 7:24 PM ^
Yeah that was tough to look at. I feel for the guy.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:46 PM ^
Maybe it will be like that time Caris leg bent in half in a weird way and was back like a week later.
November 18th, 2023 at 10:41 PM ^
I forgot about that. What was weird on this one was his foot point 90 degrees in the wrong direction while he grabbed his knee. Maybe his foot was pointing the correct way and the rest of his leg was not. Hopefully he will recover soon - tough way to go out.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:25 PM ^
It was ugly. Feel terrible for the kid. A great athlete. A great competitor.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
That would effectively end their season. For his sake, I hope it's not bad. Never want to see someone take a bad injury...
November 18th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
oh it is bad..unfortunately I was watching it live..it is bad
November 18th, 2023 at 7:57 PM ^
Just watched the replay - oof... I hope he recovers fully. He was really fun to watch and had his team right there. Sucks, I feel bad for him.
November 18th, 2023 at 9:11 PM ^
That would effectively end their season.
It won’t. They’ll still win out with Rodemaker.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
What an awful break for him... on senior day no less.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
Yikes. Not only that but North Alabama is running the ball really well and up 13-0 at the moment. 134 yards on 10 carries. If FSU loses this game they won't make the playoff. Can't lose to a team like this and expect to make it. Washington looking to benefit from FSU and Jordan Travis's tragedy.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
If FSU loses one of the next three they are out. Most likely that means a second Big Ten gets in unless Bama beats Georgia.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
UGA
UW / Oregon winner
UM / OSU winner
Texas
If Texas wins out, they will get in over the 2nd B1G team.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
That was a hell of an injury. The ESPN dudes audibly gasped and yelled “oh no!”
November 18th, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
Do not post the video. That was a bad injury. Hope the surgery goes well and he heals up quick.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
Yeah he done. Sucks for them and my in-laws who are Noles grads.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:36 PM ^
Also FSU is losing to North Alabama. Not sure that will last but damn.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:37 PM ^
Best of luck to the kid, I hope he can recover as quickly as possible
November 18th, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
Oh man. That's awful.
Been a discouraging couple of weeks for us, but in the end we've got our guys ready to go. There's almost nothing worse for a football program than to have an undefeated, seemingly playoff-bound season going, and lose your QB late in the year like this.
And it's his last game.
Reminds me of Dennis Dixon in a lot of ways.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
One of the worst injuries I’ve ever seen. He’s done. For any of you old enough to remember, it reminded me of the Joe Theisman injury. Leg was snapped and bent in a way it’s not supposed to bend. Feel bad for him.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
Oh no. Yes saw that one in real time - believe that was a Monday night game.
I don't want to be anywhere near a video similar to that.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:49 PM ^
Hate to get into the gritty details, but it looks like it was the ankle and lower leg. I've had an injury like that. It's pretty awful, but some varieties of those injuries (even the really bad-looking ones) actually have *relatively* shorter and better recovery prognoses than some ligament injuries like bad knee tears, achilles, etc.
Depends on the type of injury. Many remember a basketball player that got his leg similarly broken in, I believe, the NCAA tournament a few years ago. He was back on the court before the end of the next season, if I recall correctly (of course given my vague grasp of these details, take that last bit for what it's worth).
This is going to be a lousy time for Travis, but there could be hope that he'll at least be able to get back his normal activity level. Of course, I don't know if he had any real professional prospects, so this is not good for that.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:51 PM ^
Kevin Ware
November 18th, 2023 at 7:54 PM ^
The way the trainers and medics were moving with such urgency and the fact that they weren’t letting Travis look at his leg tells me it is in fact bad. I hope it’s not.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
It's an awful injury and I hope he can recover and play in the NFL.
This probably ends FSU's playoff hopes unless their backup just balls out for a month.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:48 PM ^
He's gonna have to ball out tonight first.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:51 PM ^
Well that sucks for him. FSU was my rooting interest after Michigan, so now I probably won't even watch the playoffs if we lose next week,.
