Um, congratulations I guess?

Urban, Jimbo, Izzo
November 17th, 2023 at 11:27 PM ^
Just combine all three into a supercoach:
Jizzan
November 17th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
Think you meant Jizzur
November 18th, 2023 at 9:12 AM ^
No, they fired him.
November 18th, 2023 at 12:03 AM ^
Ujizzo
November 18th, 2023 at 12:14 AM ^
Hahaha, this can't be upvoted enough!
November 18th, 2023 at 12:53 AM ^
Tuck Jizzan
November 18th, 2023 at 12:54 AM ^
Pretty sure that was their last coach
November 18th, 2023 at 7:33 AM ^
Izzo already has a football building named after him.
November 18th, 2023 at 8:33 AM ^
....and Coach PRIME!!!
November 17th, 2023 at 10:07 PM ^
Johnathan L Smith

I heard he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro over the offseason.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:32 PM ^
I assume he has a bye into the third round of interviews.
November 18th, 2023 at 8:00 AM ^
You’re thinking of Bobby Williams
November 18th, 2023 at 8:33 AM ^
What a slappie....
November 18th, 2023 at 11:53 AM ^
bring back Bobby Williams
November 17th, 2023 at 10:08 PM ^
Elko can definitely do better - he sounds like the leading candidate for Texas A&M anyway.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:11 PM ^
And Jed would have a much easier run in the Big 12 than he would in the B1G at MSU.
November 18th, 2023 at 9:26 AM ^
On the other hand, it would be nice to have more Harbaugh allies in the conference. Jedd coaching Sparty would definitely cool off that rivalry a bit, and give Harbaugh a desperately needed friend in this bullshit conference
November 17th, 2023 at 10:29 PM ^
Not a bad ploy by him to use MSU as a bargaining chip. MSU is known to throw money at a coach, maybe trick A&M into offering a little extra
November 18th, 2023 at 4:34 AM ^
Are they content to keep firing the money cannon? Fisher cost them $100 million.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:03 AM ^
They want to win and they’re willing to spend whatever it takes to do so
November 17th, 2023 at 10:31 PM ^
Elko and Jed are too smart to take an MSU job.
Smith needs to get out of the Pac2 so that seems like a possibility
November 17th, 2023 at 11:01 PM ^
Smith is going to be a leading candidate for UCLA (if UCLA fires Kelly, as seems to be).
He grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and is a huge Dodgers fan --- my colleague knows a guy who is best friends with him, supposedly he has some desire to get back to SoCal.
November 18th, 2023 at 12:15 AM ^
Jedd should be a leading candidate for the UCLA job too. Of the four, I think Smith would be the riskiest hire for MSU. He's from southern CA and has spent his entire career in the Pacific northwest. Out of region hires like that have a high failure rate.
November 18th, 2023 at 12:47 AM ^
Was he at 31 flavors last night?
November 18th, 2023 at 12:35 AM ^
Yeah, I don't believe this "report."
November 17th, 2023 at 10:09 PM ^
Not coach Prime?
November 17th, 2023 at 10:10 PM ^
All 4 are good coaches. I'd rather have any of them than Tucker.
November 18th, 2023 at 12:20 PM ^
That's the real shame. No matter who's they hire they'll almost certainly fall up
November 17th, 2023 at 10:11 PM ^
The only reason I’d like Fisch to get it would be that the rivalry might actually bring some respect back to it instead of their bullshit antics since Dumbtonio got there and beyond.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:52 PM ^
Almost seems like a lateral though. Can MSU really out-recruit that much over what Fisch could do at Arizona to make it a step up?
Good practice to interview, and I mean, if you want out of the Big-12...and he is from NJ so may be some family reasons to get closer?
Money-wise, MSU could pay 2x more than Fisch's $3m.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:20 PM ^
Come to MSU and re-establish them as a legit team and then could potentially take Harbaugh’s place when he leaves. With the playoffs expanding to 12 teams, he would just have to be in the top 3 of the Bigten and probably would make it in.
November 18th, 2023 at 1:16 AM ^
(a) MSU is lucky to be the third-best team in the state; third-best team in an 18-team Big Ten is laughable.
(b) Michigan hasn't taken MSU's leftovers since Kipke. I don't see any reason to resume that now.
November 18th, 2023 at 7:26 AM ^
Fisch is a good coach. The offense under him was very good and he has done a nice job at Arizona. I hope that MSU finds a good coach and agree with your sentiment on bringing back a rivalry built on mutual respect for each others program.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:11 PM ^
Fisch? Wow. Figured they can do alot better.
If Elko is going to TAMU then I'll say it's Candle.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:15 PM ^
Are you oblivious to what Fisch has done at Arizona? I don't want him to go there
November 17th, 2023 at 10:33 PM ^
Almost a lateral move.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:57 PM ^
Step down, tbh.
And I like Jedd. I wouldn't wish this on a guy that I like.
November 18th, 2023 at 12:29 AM ^
Imagine moving from Tucson to East Lansing. To sit in Mel Tucker's stained swivel chair
November 17th, 2023 at 11:14 PM ^
Maybe Jedd is non-binary, and the post was referring to Jedd.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:49 PM ^
Fisch is a pretty good candidate honestly. Took over a horrendous Arizona team and has them looking pretty good in Year 3. I don’t know who is “a lot better” that they have a realistic shot for. Let’s be honest, more coveted jobs are open and will open.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:59 PM ^
Agree. Only thing I wonder, Fisch has had so many jobs, he'd be most likely to move on quickly. Yeah most were not head coaching jobs, but he did just get to AZ also.
Candle may be the one that sticks around and attempt a full program build, considering his long stint at Toledo.
November 17th, 2023 at 10:11 PM ^
Bad shit, Jedd
November 17th, 2023 at 10:12 PM ^
I'm surprised Fisch is on there ... he's got something going at Arizona. I don't see MSU as a step up from UA. More money, maybe?
November 17th, 2023 at 10:17 PM ^
Az is heading to the Big-12, which is basically a small step up from a G5 conference now
