Voice of Reason: Colin Cowherd?
🔊@ColinCowherd: "Be honest about Harbaugh, it's about fear. He's outscored the Big-10 229-31, 19 players that will be drafted, and Ohio State is still really good, but Michigan has throttled them...The rush to judgment on the sign stealing scandal is all about fear." pic.twitter.com/jmFIBUudpN

sorry, thought I embedded it properly. it's worth a click to listen to his take.

Preach Colin, Preach.
November 4th, 2023 at 11:07 AM ^
He also said a couple weeks back that if Purdue got caught doing what UM allegedly did it wouldn't make the top 8 stories on ESPN. He said it was deflategate 2. If Kirk Cousins got caught deflating footballs it would be an SNL skit .
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:14 PM ^
He's stealing my soul. Stop it!
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:38 PM ^
He's the worst person you know, and he made a great point.
November 4th, 2023 at 1:14 PM ^
I was about to respond to this thread with a bunch of words, but you encapsulated everything I was going to say with a simple onion reference
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:13 PM ^
Interesting . . . the most sane voices about all of this are the ones that are usually the craziest.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
It’s possible that they were not crazy before…
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Should we not discuss the other alternative?
There's also the conspiracy that he's with FOX now, which honestly, I don't think that's crazy. FOX and ESPN are clearly on opposite sides of this, and for a reason.
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:06 PM ^
He could be supporting the opposite side of the #scandal just to get clicks.
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
Nah, Colin has always been a big Harbaugh fan for years, even during the seasons we’ve struggled.
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
Speaking of crazy (although admittedly unrelated), why is MSU selling a bed frame with a mirror ceiling? Is this Tucker’s bed?

Awesome find.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:13 PM ^
I can’t believe I agree with Colin Cowherd…
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:24 PM ^
I can’t believe I agree with Maurice Clarett!
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
Yeah, that one threw me, too.
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:52 PM ^
Yeah, even though that was an underhand slow pitch softball, you hit that one out of the park Indy.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
when you agree with both cowherd and urban liar in the same day......
its bizzaro world....
Lord save us!
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:36 PM ^
Meyer works for Fox. Fox is protecting its investment.
If Meyer worked for ESPN, he’d be slandering us every chance he got.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:59 PM ^
Look closely at what Urban said. He is NOT our friend:
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
Note that it's mainly ESPN driving this. Note that Klatt softened his tone a bit, and even Urban because they are pro B10.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:17 PM ^
I think you have no choice but to soften your tone when the proposed action is to impose immediate serious sanctions before finding out ya know… the facts.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:19 PM ^
It's almost as if there is a connection between the network name on the paychecks, the conference TV affiliations now and going forward, and the relative sanity of the positions taken.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:19 PM ^
It's all just fuel for ESPN's new model of Pat McAfee and Stephen A. Smith HAWT TAKE clones until, mercifully, the sun envelopes the Earth.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:23 PM ^
I don't know if ESPN normally changes the rankings of teams after the CFP's first numbers come out, but if you look at the schedule on ESPN.com for tomorrow, Ohio State is ranked 1, Georgia 2, and Michigan 3. Like I said, this may be normal practice, it just caught me by surprise.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:32 PM ^
That is indeed consistent since the CFP started.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:39 PM ^
That is standard.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:45 PM ^
Thanks for clarifying.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:37 PM ^
What did I miss with Urban?
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:43 PM ^
He just said the media is always wrong.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:54 PM ^
This is what Meyer said: “This is really the first time, because it’s you (Tim May) and because it's a guy I respect –so I’m very cautious. I’ve been asked over 100 times to comment on it, and I just won’t. But I am going to. I’ll tell you my thoughts: First of all, I’m very skeptical of reporters' reporting. My experience is they’re wrong most of the time. And that’s not a shot at the media, that’s reality. People say things that they’re reporting that’s just not true. So I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt saying, first of all, it’s hard for me to believe that is true. I also heard people say that,‘Well, everyone does that.’ And Tim, no one does that. I’ve never heard of that in 40 years of being around the game. There’s a very clear rule, and that rule – some will say it’s not that important. Once again, everybody is entitled to their opinion. If they know your signals, it is that important. You’re changing the game. That’s very egregious if that’s what happened. I’m not saying it did, because I’m still skeptical it did."
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:05 PM ^
Interesting. I guess I hadn't seen all of it before.

FOX should fire him for not protecting the conference member. Of course he's going to MSU anyway.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:38 PM ^
Yeah, trying to point out in any kind of forum that has fans of multiple teams on it that ESPN's coverage seems to be very happy to appear to take out a Big Ten team, a conference that they no longer have a vested financial interest in its success, while Fox, which does have an interest, has had more measured takes, apparently is just "Michigan cope."
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:45 PM ^
The trend is pretty obvious. If the Balas story ever picks up steam it will be interesting to see how that unfolds with Fox and ESPN as well. But the fact that ESPN hasn't noted it yet doesn't support my theory.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:48 PM ^
The fact that ESPN has not mentioned it definitely supports my theory. I guess they are waiting for substantial evidence.
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:06 PM ^
Every time I read a comment about how this is driven by a nefarious ESPN agenda, I get a little sadder. This is straight out of the RCMB playbook: “ESPN hates us!”
I promise you, ESPN would love to see Michigan in the playoff, as the playoff is carried on ESPN and Michigan is a big draw. And why would ESPN carry OSU’s water anyway?
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:20 PM ^
Its absolutely about fear. Its why rival fanbases are practically begging the Big Ten to save them and execute some mob justice before anything is investigated.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:27 PM ^
The matrix is after us
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:35 PM ^
Michigan needs to come out and absolutely throttle Purdue tomorrow.
Some teams have played extremely sleepy after bye weeks and Michigan too has started slow at home.
Come out and put up a crooked number...then let the we love Harbaugh chants begin.
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:04 PM ^
Add in the Ryan Walters outcry, we'll come out laser focused in pursuit of another obliteration.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:36 PM ^
Dammit. Up is down. Black is white.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:47 PM ^
Einhorn is Finkle. Finkle is Einhorn!
November 3rd, 2023 at 7:15 PM ^
Einhorn is coaching at Wisconsin!
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:51 PM ^
And Clarence Boddicker is Alex Murphy
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:37 PM ^
Cowherd and Klatt are the only two who i've watched more than once since this started. Even Rich Eisen has been too anti-Michigan. Too 'both sides.'
The more info we get the more clear things are. PI firm (almost certainly from OSU, probably from Day) is tasked to dig up dirt on Michigan. They find we actually are the cleanest program. They find one minor violation with the CMU sideline. They realize nothing will come of this, but the actually legal sign stealing sounds bad so instead of going through the NCAA they start a smear campaign to win in the court of public opinion and try to use outrage to destroy Michigan.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:51 PM ^
The cmu bit is definitely serious on multiple levels, maybe more so than sending people to other games.
It is simply atrocious for someone to cosplay as cmu to scout MSU of all damn teams.
I hope that Harbaugh didn't instruct and/or condone this juvenile shit.
