Aaron Scott (CB from Springfield, OH) Tweeting Still Confused On College Decision
I didn't see this posted on the board yet, and recruiting news has been a touch slow this week, but I have seen two articles (one Michigan and one OSU) talking about how CB Aaron Scott has been tweeting that he is still undecided and confused on which school to pick. Many believe it's a battle between Michigan and OSU (with his dad being a super OSU fan), but Oregon was the childhood favorite.

While this might not be the most breaking news, he is still planning on committing on 7/30, his dad's birthday. I imagine most here think there is no way he announces Michigan on his dad's birthday, but many OSU fans are unsure and feel like he will end up in A2. With the timeline, I have a hard time thinking it will be Michigan, but you're telling me there's a chance.
Is it still referred to as “tweeting?” Is it “Xing” now?
Microsoft owns the trademark on X so probably not. Saw someone say they should chaning it to Z like Zavier Simpson and I think that's a great idea.
I would stay away from the letter Z for now...
Seems like that might actually be a selling point for ol' Elon.
Logged in to upvote. Elon sucks ass.
Please no. I don't want that association with one of my favorite movies.
Mos definitely in my top 10. Saw it for the first time in Angell Hall iirc. Costa Gavras was there and did a Q&A after. Often recommend it to people as the best movie they've never heard of.
I believe Microsoft only has the trademark on X for their specific logo (font, color scheme, etc.).
Correct and the owner for the trademark X for all things social media belongs to Meta Platforms, Inc., which you know... is owned by Mark Zuckerberg.
And hillbillies prefer to be called "sons of the soil," but it ain't going to happen - Dr. Hibbert.
(damn gif won't upload from my computer)
Don't you mean Xing?
LOL. Twitter rebrand is really a Hail Mary. Engagement and usage is way down since Musk took over - stock price also, but that's often irrelevant speculation and not true indicator of product success in the short term.
The site somehow got even worse with more shit flinging since Elon took over...I am continually shown random threads by folks I don't follow with LOUD political or controversial opinions attempting to draw folks in. His vision of free speech is just having folks of different political persuasion keyboard shout at one another for clicks and engagement. All very cynical and transparent.
Anyhow, regarding Scott, this may very well be for attention, but it's pretty clear per interviews that he sees the difference in UM and OSU scheme and devlopment and likes what Clink is doing at UM. Dad, family, friends and rabid OSU community obviously in his ear everyday about staying home. I believe that in a vacuum, he'd choose UM, but given all the family and local pressure, he ends up at OSU.
His version of “free speech” also includes the rule that you can’t make fun of Elon because his skin is too thin and his diaper too full.
The incessant hate on Elon has become comical at this point. I’m sure a guy spending F you money and changing the world really cares about key board warriors.
I guess you could say taking a $44 billion shit in public is "changing the world" in a sense.
It is certainly redefining the scale of "a fool and his money..."
Yeah, so what if a zillionaire bought a platform so he could spew racist trash and conspiracy theories. He's a rich guy, so he should be free to do what he wants to the rest of us serfs. You're so enlightened? Thanks for sharing oxygen with us!
Isn't that the kid Charles Woodson & Braxton Miller are both publically recruiting through twitter?
One of those things is not like the other
Last month I played in a golf outing in metro Columbus and Braxton Miller was there. A 4 person scramble, best ball. His foursome was so bad and slow there was a 4 hole gap between them and the group in front. The ranger told them to get moving or leave. Miller would walk so slow after each errant shot.
Get off my lawn.
your lawn is a golf course? fun!
I know essentially nothing about the kid but given where he's from and his dad's allegiance to OSU the odds are in their favor, maybe 65-35% or so? At the same time, last Nov 26th I was walking my dog early in the morning and talking myself through Michigan's chances of beating OSU in Columbus without a healthy Blake Corum.
If I remember correctly by the end of the walk I decided that our chances were 20% or so. The fact that we won doesn't mean the chances were actually greater than I thought so maybe a similar against the odds outcome will occur with Aaron Scott announcing for the good guys on 7/30?
35%>20% therefore he commits to Michigan.
I think its a 45 percent chance he commits to Michigan and a 23 percent chance he doesn't commit at all and keeps the process going.
AND we're a Jordan school, so
But in this case 23 was better than 45, at least according to former Flyin' Illini Nick Anderson before he entered witness protection...
I say that's very low. He's tipping everyone off that he wants Michigan but painted himself in corner with the dad bday thing. I predict he changes date... And then we will know we have him.
I would not be surprised if his mind is made up 100% and this is for attention, such is the nature of big time crooooootin.
or it could be legit.
we will not be certain of his future until he is signed and in the fold somewhere. Be nice if it were with the good guys but no reason at all to get any hopes up.
He can't fool me! Good luck at tOSU, Aaron. I wish you all the best except no wins against Michigan. On to the next one.
I know they are loaded all over the field, but their WR and CB haul this season is pretty impressive.
Have to keep out coaching, developing, culture and scheming them to death. Outrecruting is going to be a tough pull.
And Michigan has a great class coming in next year.
I don't wish him well at all. I hope he personally gets beat for the game winning TD every week of his career at OSU. Or he never sees the field there. They never win a game in his career. He leaves college early for the NFL, but goes undrafted and unsigned. He doesn't get developed because of their shitty DB coaching.....these are the things I wish for him, and all OSU players
Not listening to it. He's going to OSU until he isn't.
Not saying he isn't debating it or that he's trolling Michigan fans, but there's no reason to believe whatever confusion he has will actually lead to him picking Michigan.

He's not.
Did you tell your dad?
No way he ends up in Ann Arbor. The dad's birthday thing isn't just a coincidence.
That's the kind of thing I would have done to my dad on his birthday... but I was an asshole teenager.
maybe he is mad at his dad for some reason and this is perfect revenge.
one can hope right?
Upvoted because I prefer this outcome.
I have it on good authority that Aaron recently discovered his dad FUCKED AARON’S MOM. Could throw this entire situation into chaos.
I'm starting to believe the more he thinks about it the more he wants to go to Michigan. When he originally changed his commit date to his Dad's bday he probably was leaning OSU but it feels like Michigan has gained a lot of ground. He probably feels like he's painted himself into a corner and might just commit to OSU on his Dad's birthday just so he doesn't make him feel bad. Then during the season he can flip to Michigan. Especially after The Game.
WTF. I posed nearly this exact thing a moment ago and just now am seeing your post... I agree
Kid announcing his decision to a top teir college football program on a full scholarship would be a pretty sweet bday gift no matter where he goes.
But yeah, seems a little too convenient. However we did have a 5 star QB in our back yard whose dad had a tattoo of calvin peeing on Ohio State logo and that kid went to *checks notes* UCLA, so you never know.
I think too much is being made of this. His dad seems like the kind of person that can separate fandom from his son making the choice he feels is right, and Aaron's parents will know of his final decision before the announcement either way.
We have like four data point and his Dad's fandom is one of them. The kid supposedly doesn't know so how are we supposed to know?
If he's still conflicted that is probably better than if his mind is made up considering the other data points.
His dad seems like the kind of person in what way? He's said that if Aaron went to visit Michigan he wouldn't go with him... I know he walked it back and did go with him, but nothing about that screams "the kind of person that can separate.."
🧌ing
I have to believe this is all smoke and mirrors to build suspense for his decision on his dad's birthday.
