Bye, Sparty! Keon Coleman transfers to FSU
Guess that talk with Talk didn't sway his best (former) receiver. He's going to Tallahassee .https://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/michigan-state/spartans/2023/05/17/keon-coleman-florida-state-transfer-michigan-state-spartans/70184152007/

I guess he was just a one trick portal pony after all
For anyone hankering for some delicious schadenfreude https://247sports.com/college/michigan-state/board/93/Contents/welcome-keeyon-stewart--209768484/?page=1
I'm in this picture and I love it!
Most of them are so delusional they arent worried about this season. Cant make this stuff up.
My favorite post is "If you can't recruit at Michigan State, you can't recruit - Mel Tucker".
😅
Favorite comment... . "Nice CB pickup from the porthole."
Apparently, Keeyon played for Navy.
Now portal guys are decommitting? Holy smokes, college football is going to come crashing down in the not so distant future. I’ve been as big a fan as there is out there, and I already find myself quickly losing interest.
Typical sparty, thinks the programs woes are more systemic than leadership related, hilarious.
Truly a Spartan Dawg 4 Life.
Isn't he the one with the targeting no-call at the end of CFP game?
Too soon, man, too soon.
SD4M...Sparty dawg for a minute.
allegedly coleman said on his way out:
see ya,
wouldn't wanna
be ya!

I am almost starting to feel sorry for them. Almost.
So, in 5-7 years? Or 3-9 years
Never. They still think they're a great team. I cant wait to watch them to crushed this year.
Tuck Bummin'.
He's probably not too low. Though I still have trouble believing his contract is fully guaranteed. Who would be so nuts to do that?
This is the year we put huge numbers on them. At THEIR, trash tornado, HOUSE.
Something stupid like 50-14 or a shutout 😳 would drive them wild.
Yes. The 5 FGs last year just weren't cathartic enough for me, even before we learned about the tunnel. I want 3 TDs in the first quarter and 50-plus at the end of the game. An empty stadium after halftime except for the UM faithful. And I don't want anger from the MSU fans. I want APATHY.
I'd love to see a late TD against their starting D, while the good guys are burning their redshirts. Too much? No? Didn't think so.
Would returning a worthless muffed 2-point conversion 98 yards in the last minutes of a blowout suffice?
with the finish line lean.... that was beautiful
I am actually thinking of going to the game this year. I haven't been to EL since my daughter took a tour, but a beatdown in EL would be fun to witness. I am old though ... is there a club level at MSU yet? They have the minibox on one side IIRC.
I know we’re still going to likely get whatever their best game is, but I’m wondering now how much of that is just pre-conditioning from the Dantonio years in knowing that not only did they consistently field good to great teams, but they always had 1-2 extra gears for this game that they could kick into.
Next year could legitimately be the best offense Michigan has ever had, coupled with what could be an extremely good defense, and I really don’t know what MSU has to be able to counter any of that. Sure, anything can happen of course, so I’m not saying to take them lightly, but if I look at this game strictly on paper, I don’t know how Michigan doesn’t win by multiple touchdowns. Short of self-implosion and boatloads of mistakes.
I would love for this to be a 35-0 snoozer at the half, with Tuck choppin his way to a 63-3 drubbing. He kicks a Frames Field Goal kick in the closing minutes to save face, but is essentially waving the white flag.
The only thing they have to counter are prob some nunchucks hidden on their sideline.
Just blow them out early and get the starters off the field and into the locker room.
Well, they will probably score a TD or two chucking it to Keon Col . . . never mind. We're good.
That would be ok, but we would block that field goal anyway and run it back. It's just that easy. Disrespekt
Yeah I thought Sparty was gonna suck again this year with all these dudes on the roster. Getting a bit 3-winney up in East Lansing early this year
Ah, Tuck's been shopping at the porthole!
"Dealt with injuries at TCU but a solid player when healthy. Nice CB pickup from the porthole." (247 link above)
In all seriousness, I know Tuck is a bad head coach and all, but what is suddenly going on up there with all of the defections? Why now? Was there an incident? I'm not unhappy about it, obviously, just curious why the ongoing dumpster fire suddenly turned into a raging inferno.
I suspect that the initial surge of NIL money is starting to dry up.
I’m guessing - just guessing - that something internal happened and it was bad. Players talk and those leaving gave a heads-up to those coming in.
Only time will tell if this is the case - the tea is going to spill eventually/
I think there was a few factors. The FOIA request exposed that Sparty themselves are paying most of Tucker's contract, after a public campaign placing most of the funds on a booster. That embarassed the AD (and revealed that they can't have much money for assistants and shit since it's going to Tucker himself), so the best assistants have left. And one of their mega boosters Matt Ishbia bought a share of the Phoenix Suns, so he's both low on funds now and has bigger fish to fry than his alma mater's NIL efforts. Plus, the lackluster results on the field don't warrant confidence in investing much into the program at the moment.
So NIL money is scant, trust in their coaches (the ones left) is low, and overall momentum (with their best players heading for the exits) is low. All of which just prompts the best kids to look out for their own best interest (like Hunter Dickinson did) and hit the road.
But maybe more importantly...there is just no was MSU can NIL its way into regularly contending with UM, OSU, PSU, USC and so middle of the pack is their legit ceiling...with a massive floor/basement at/near the bottom of the B1G.

I have been asking this for months. No one knows.
MSU is in a tough spot with regard to the transfer portal. There are two kinds of valuable players in the portal: guys who have far exceeded expectations in less-glamorous locations, and guys who have washed out at big-time schools.
The first type are going to look for situations in which they can stand out on a contender and/or get paid the big bucks. If they're truly in-demand, they'll sign with a true contender. We've seen this with guys like Olu signing with Michigan last year, Sam Hartman signing with ND this year, or Josiah Stewart signing with Michigan this year. MSU's results over the last two years aren't good enough to attract this type of player, and they also probably don't have the NIL money to outright buy these guys over any number of SEC schools.
The second type are more of a crapshoot. Some are going to look for a place where they can start no matter what, and MSU probably isn't bad enough to guarantee most of those guys a starting spot. And some washed out due to actual issues that will prevent them from being successful anywhere.
Meanwhile, after his success with Walker, Tucker has leaned on transfers to a heavy extent. This means that the guys he recruited out of high school aren't going to be as loyal, because they're constantly getting recruited over. And transfers aren't going to have a lot of loyalty, almost by definition. That means they don't have the kind of guys Dantonio built his team around, who carry a chip on their shoulder and stick around to develop for 4-5 years.
Unless he gets lucky with another Walker (or several of them), he's going to be stuck with a team of transfers with one issue or another and guys eyeing any exit that's available to them.
Let's just beat them this year..... we don't need any bad karma.
Let's just .... Stay Classy.
Go Blue....
Although usually inclined to take the higher road considering Sparty assaulted players in the tunnel there is no "bad karma" kicking Mel in the ass until he is removed.
