Question for those who know more about hockey than I do, which is likely most of you:

The puck goes into Colgate’s end inside one of the face off circles, with a pair of Michigan players in the zone, and the linesman signals for a delayed offside, so the players retreat to tag up at the blue line, ceding possession to Colgate.

Why not just touch the puck and take the offside? Colgate has possession near the blue line, which is what they would get if they won a face off just outside the zone. Taking the offside would at least give Michigan a chance to win possession on the ensuing face off. Is the offside not the better option for Michigan?

Not a great period. Colgate got shelled some but after it was 1-0 it feels like we really struggled to get anything going on the offensive zone and we gave up several OMRs the other way. Lucky Colgate didn't put one in

We are not afraid to play reckless.  Leaving ourselves exposed to counters constantly.  No fear.

Must be very confident.

Live that Kent Johnson scored a "Michigan" on the anniversary.  Shows that playing here isnt just a stop on the way to the show.
