Very prescient
Brindley flying in from the wing, shot is saved.
Gylanders the only guy whos gonna keep Colgate in this
GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Granowicz! 1-0 U-M!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Granowicz 1-0
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
GOOOALLL! Huge first goal. Weve been dominating. Good to pay it off
Nicely done.
Easy as you please. Over under is 6
Wow, we are an arrogant team. I thought it would burn us, but there is a reason for the arrogance.
We want MOAR goals!
Luke doing Luke things. Cmon man
It's like he's trying to score 10 each shift. Love the effort.
We've got the lead - now gotta play smart
Their goalie is playing on his head
Luke trying to do way too much gives up a 3 on 1 the other way. Braindead stuff like that is the only way Colgates staying in this
KISS and get pucks deep.
That's how state plays, not this team.
Line change! Hughes was too fast and the guy coming out to cover was too slow!
/s
No watchalong tonight? Boo. I am disappointed.
17-6 in shots. I like when it’s displayed next to the score
Question for those who know more about hockey than I do, which is likely most of you:
The puck goes into Colgate’s end inside one of the face off circles, with a pair of Michigan players in the zone, and the linesman signals for a delayed offside, so the players retreat to tag up at the blue line, ceding possession to Colgate.
Why not just touch the puck and take the offside? Colgate has possession near the blue line, which is what they would get if they won a face off just outside the zone. Taking the offside would at least give Michigan a chance to win possession on the ensuing face off. Is the offside not the better option for Michigan?
The ref has discretion to take the faceoff all the way back to our zone if he thinks that the offsides was intentional.
Ok, thanks, figured there had to be a good reason.
First "no relation" of the game.
Save, Portillo!
Can we stop trying to stick handle past people at the blue line please?
1-0 U-M after one.
Great start and mediocre end to the 1st half
Not a great period. Colgate got shelled some but after it was 1-0 it feels like we really struggled to get anything going on the offensive zone and we gave up several OMRs the other way. Lucky Colgate didn't put one in
Isn't this the kind of hockey UM prefers to play? They'll give up these chances in exchange for the greater offensive opportunities? It feels like this is just part of our system at this point. Score lots and lean heavily on Portillo.
Uh, at times they do like to play this way, but playing this way is a terrific way to lose in this tournament. Give up a bunch of sloppy OMRs to better teams in this tournament and you're in trouble
This is the type of play that they limited in the B1G tourney which is why they won it. They were much tighter in formation playing far more balanced & a lower variance style
Shots: U-M 17, Colgate 7.
We are not afraid to play reckless. Leaving ourselves exposed to counters constantly. No fear.
Must be very confident.
They're playing like they wanna win a barnburner vs Wisconsin again. Gotta be more disciplined
Less pretty, more gritty in the 2nd pls. Looking for that lockdown forecheck.
Boring 3-1 win better than 6-5 nail biter IMO
10-0 is better than both.

This did age well!
OT: Wow, USA 6, Grenada 1. McKennie scored again, Pulisic got one, not sure who got #6.
[Edit] It was Pepi with his 2nd goal.
Kent Johnson scoring a Mike Legg goal in the Blue Jacket's game tonight, on the 27th anniversary of Legg's goal.
Man, I feel old now...
Video proof:
Live that Kent Johnson scored a "Michigan" on the anniversary. Shows that playing here isnt just a stop on the way to the show.

Scoring a Michigan in Columbus of all places.
(Belatedly) 2nd period under way. Let's Go Blue!
Little better. Michigan starting to dump and chase vs try to hero puck through 5 bodies at the blue line
Oooohhh, Adam Fantilli battling in front of the net, tips the puck just wide.
Camera man zoomed back is driving me crazy, keep it tighter, half rink shots so we can see in this dungeon.
